WCPO posted some sweet photos of the boys as a trio in tribute.

“They got along really well for three siblings. Don’t get me wrong there’s always sibling rivalries, but those boys were always supporting each other," said NRYSA President, Kristin Bennett.

The more articles/video clips written/uploaded about this sad case, it sounds like CD was angry about losing control if their mom left and was granted custody ?
Anything to hurt her -- even the most extreme actions.
It's early now, but I'm guessing he will try to lay blame at her feet for this.
No one should be blamed by an abuser for choosing to walk away ; and imo this poor mother may have sensed that he was becoming more unhinged as the days and hours passed.

I'm sorry she and all of the children weren't able to escape to a shelter in time, but maybe it was a situation where he was threatening, 'leave and you're all going to die'.
So she may have tried to placate him ?
Nor blaming, just trying to understand how the little boy's final, terrible day unfolded.
M00.

Prosecution seem intent on following this through to a death penalty sentence So unlikely they are offering to let him plead guilty to life without parole. So I guess his only chance is to plead not guilty and try for some sort of diminished responsibility. Guessing this might be around being under influence/addiction problems, problems with impulse control (ADHD), developmental concerns and upbringing.

I agree with all of you calling this out as an escalation of family violence due to a sense of losing control. I think he has probably made threats to his wife to do this, and then snapped at something that happened that day.

I did think he looked shocked and remorseful the first time I saw him at that very first court appearance. I do think it’s possible he feels this - as well as putting blame for his actions solely on his wife for provoking him.

Rest in Peace little boys.

Agree with this. The jail booking on youtube which is about 20 minutes long....it is very interesting especially around the 10-11 minute mark where he turns to the wall and hits his head -- you see some emotions here.
