The Dispatch is not naming the homeowner because he hasn’t been charged with a crime.

The day she disappeared, Deanna Ballman called her mother to say she did not feel well. James Ballman, Deanna’s brother, said last month that their mother thought she’d heard scuffling and a woman shouting on the phone before the call was disconnected. Neither James nor Lori Ballman could be reached yesterday.

I'm not surprised at all from the results, because it looked like some form of poison or toxin -- or drug! -- that hit her suddenly and she called her mom when she realized that. Heroin works well :(

The bruise on the elbow could be from another needle (it's very little). Maybe it was on the inside of the elbow.

The Link below identifies bruising on the inside of Deanna's left elbow.. So, that could indicate another jab with a needle??

Teri Miller, a friend of Ballman’s, said that “none of the family thinks that she was a user."

Miller said Ballman had recently driven from Colorado to Ohio with her sister, and Ballman’s sister did not see Ballman using drugs. The autopsy found that both Ballman and her fetus were healthy.

“I have a hard time thinking she could carry a baby to term” if she were using heroin.

Ballman was a member of the Colorado National Guard and in the process of transferring to the Ohio National Guard. The Colorado National Guard said she was a supply specialist with the 220th Military Police.

Fellow National Guard members were stunned by Ballman's death.

"Last time I saw her [Ballman] was a week and a half ago," said Supply Sergeant Eric Goodman, who worked with Ballman for two years at the Denver Armory. "It kind of floored me yesterday. Being that young and pregnant," he said. Goodman said Ballman, a supply specialist, was responsible for gathering supplies and making sure the 220th Company was ready to deploy at any time.

"She was really good at what she did, you didn't have to ask her twice to do anything. She got it done," Goodman said. "She was very disciplined at what she did, she was always here on time. She was very dedicated, very mature for her age.

In honor of our friend: Remembering Spc. Deanna Ballman
By Colorado Army National Guard Spc. Bethany Fehringer, 104th Public Affairs Detachment

FORT IRWIN, Calif. (8/7/12) -- Soldiers of the Colorado Army National Guard’s 220th Military Police Company, 147th Brigade Support Battalion, and other units at the gathered at Forward Operating Base Santa Fe Aug. 7 to participate in a memorial ceremony to honor and remember a fallen Soldier.

Spc. Deanna Ballman of the 220th MP Company, a mother of two, was found dead on Aug. 1 in Ohio.

The 220th and 147th are at FOB Santa Fe, part of the National Training Center at Fort Irwin, Calif., to conduct their annual training.

The memorial service was organized by the 147th especially for the 220th to provide a time and place for their Soldiers to come together and support each other during their time of mourning.

“I could always tell there was a little bit more behind the facade that she would allow people to see, and I think that’s what I will always remember of her,” said Capt. Wesley Kvasnicka, company commander of the 220th. “She might be quiet, and she might blend in to the crowd, but if you start talking about family or her children, she was vibrant and really came to life. She was a unique person.”

“I think the company will remember her like we always remember our friends and our Soldiers. It’s that unique relationship that you have with your fellow Soldiers,” said Kvasnicka. “So as soon as we brought the company together and told everybody, the outpouring of support for each other was amazing. Soldiers who were brand new to the unit were struck by the emotion of everything. I don’t think we’ll ever forget Spc. Ballman.”

“I just want to express my sincere condolences to her family and my gratitude for giving their daughter to the military,” said Ortega. “She was a good Soldier. I know she was a good mother, and God bless.”

JMO, someone drove her to that location where the car was found, and needed a ride back which suggests two people may know what happened to Deanna. :cow:

But maybe not because it was only 3-4 miles from the doctor's house. Some people could run that distance easy.

What a shame and a waste!

Bumping for Deanna and baby Mabel.

It sounds to me, like he advertised using the same words, remarkably like the Ad I posted (reposted) earlier.

The Channel 10 Reporter says, even with a connection to Deeanna, it will be a very hard case to prove he did anything to cause her death because there are no witnesses :(
The words highlighted in bold, are the words used in that original posted ad:

REF: According to an email obtained by 10 Investigates, the doctor told others that he was willing to pay $300 if young women can keep their work “drama free” and said, “I just don’t need the drama.”

"drama free" is a common expression people use when advertising on craigs list.
From what is reported, doctor advertised for models to take photos.

That's interesting, as we post on Craig's list once in awhile, and have never seen or used that phrase ourselves.

You can go onto craigs list and do a search for "drama free" which is what I just did.
There are plenty of advertisements using this exact phrase.

Sorry if someone already posted this and I missed it, but I thought I'd share. It's from gather so it's more opinion and information pulled from other sources. Interesting that the doctor's name is in the title though.

Edit: Is there something I don't know about posting addresses from gather on WS? The address was full of asterisks after I posted it.

Hi BlithePlum,
yes, if you see ********* it is an unapproved link. The author at that link is never allowed at websleuths to link to or discuss (for very good reason)

No problem Ms Plum! :) The first time I saw it myself I was like what the......???

There are several links that will come up like this... if you post a link and see it ******then all you have to do is just go back and delete it.

Any news on this case? It's been so quiet ever since the autopsy report came back. I hope LE knows that Deanna did not take those drugs on her own. Is there an investigation to find out who did this to a her and her baby? It's way too quiet.

I agree and bumping for Deanna and Mabel.

Reposting this article about the man who was likely the last to see Deanna alive. Police had been called by women on multiple occasions after they answered Craigslist ads at his house.

Way too coincidental, in my opinion.

It's hard to just forget that Deanna and Mabel passed away after visiting that particular man's house.
