When I went back to the facebook page, there is a post under melanie chandler's post that discusses the earring, phone battery and shoe. You have to click on her post (posted about an hour ago) to see it.

If someone lives in the town they could call the reporter and give him the info. He can find out if it is true and what else they might have found.

This makes me sick. Absolutely sick. Next they will be draining the pond. I hope and pray this is just a place where things were dumped.

There is a pond in this park or close to...

I don't know where exactly they have found said items?

Thanks for the pictures and all the information. Do you know how close the pond is to her house and if it is close enough to walk to?

Strange that the phone had the battery removed (I'm assuming it was the phone battery and wasn't thrown into the pond.) The shoe and earring I can understand being found near the pond.

That doesn't feel like good news. I hope the phone/battery have some information on them.

Last week, LE basically said they had searched "everywhere." Had they searched this park before, I wonder?

Update on facebook, for what it's worth, items have been confirmed by family to NOT be hers.

sbm... can you supply a link to the information that the phone was found with the battery removed. I don't see that tidbit of information on the missing facebook page https://www.facebook.com/pages/Missing-Bring-Katelyn-Markham-Home/177646608973942

It was posted that the Phone, battery, earring, shoe, and more were found. If the battery was in the phone would it have said the phone with the battery or the phone was found? Identifying the battery as being found infers it was not in the phone. jmo

If you search any large park, you'll probably find a collection of stuff...

I agree! We went looking in Gilmore Park today, which has already been searched apparently, and we found a 6pk carrier for Mikes Hard Lemonade(she posts as drinking in one of her journals) and a broken shovel head.

I doubt she was taken there to hang out, drink a few, and get beat in the head with a shovel.......but, you never know.

Just on the off chance, I hope they compare them to anything Paige Johnston might have owned, if they are not Katelyn's. (still reading)

maybe I missed it, I know its been discussed, but where is Katelyns family in all of this. Does anyone else thinks its weird that if they found the phone and earrings, they went to Johns house and asked him and his mother if they were her items? Why not ask her parents first?
By the way, that is what was posted on the Find Katelyn Facebook page, the Mother of John was on there and she says they came to her house with the phone and earrings.
This is odd to me.
