I must have missed the part where they asked for tips from the public
As far as we know, or what has been released to the public, this is a case of a SIL murdering his mother-in-law. So, why does the police chief thank The Ohio Internet Crimes Against Children at the end of his thank yous during the press conference? I fear the worst. I pray that I am wrong.
I thought Scullin had gone out to dinner with the husband, Bruce, before both went home and found Melinda. When would he have had time to kill her? Before he left? Recall the husband in the 911 call being so specific about arranging to meet his wife at the restaurant after work, implying he went straight there from his work. Then she didn't show up, so he had dinner with the SIL. Very specific information for a 911 call.
There is a rumour that Melinda left school early that day due to someone trying to break in the house and had a substitute come in for her. If that is true, JS could have been at the home with the baby and soon to be bil, made the call to get her home,
killed her and met up with Bruce for dinner. [emoji53]
I could be very wrong and I apologize in advance if I am. But it seems like out of all of the reports of theft/trespassing/attempted break ins.. Melinda never actually saw any "perps" with her own eyes. It was always the SIL or her daughter who "saw" either teens and an adult in their yard, 4 teens smoking weed in their yard, someone in a Hollister shirt trying to break in, 2 big men trying to break in, etc.
Agree. Something that stuck out to me early on!!
This is way out there but reading the Crimes Against Children were Involved, could SIL have convinced the downs son to help him murder his Mom?
I hate to type that!
People with Down Syndrome tend to have very low muscle tone. He'd easily be taken down by his mother if he was involved. Unless something strange was going on I don't think he'd be able to pull a trigger or stab a moving person. Plus he's functioning on a whole different level than SIL.
I taught kids with Down Syndrome and I've never seen a more stubborn group of people in general. It didn't matter how much I promised them, if they had their mind made up, that was that.
Just some observations, not all people with Down Syndrome are the same, but they do tend to share similar characteristics.
SABBMThis case remains under investigation as we continue to seek additional information, he said. We ask any member of the public who may have information on this case to contact the Strongsville Police Department at 440-580-3230.
