I don't know what's in the minds of the jury, just making a theory about how no matter, it still comes out to guilty. However there was certainly enough s/a going on in the lives surrounding others in this trial to warrant it being given thought. We know it happened in the R family in the past, not that I know that the jury knows this though.
I would think for any of it to be acceptable to a jury (as far as SA being motive and reason enough to murder) then it would have to be one person snapping and killing the person doing the SA at some point when that person was around the child or it was witnessed first hand and the killer snaps and takes out the person doing the SA. I think it's played up in court because the possibly of this happening seems to be a large part of the motive (at least for the men doing the killing, Angela's motive is control over everyone she claims to love), but there has been zero evidence shown that it was actually happening. Not a single person in the W family saw any of those they accused in the act of committing all this touching and SA of the kids, not one of them saw anyone poisoning anyone. I think it's fair to assume it's becuase it didn't happen. I hope the jury is connecting those dots. At the point Angela accused BCI of giving the kids sleepy meds and then takes them to an ER, they should realize Angela is the problem in all these "incidents".

Irony is she then admits she has given the kids sleeping meds before, but not on the night of the murders.

#AngelaWagner was back on the stand this morning, during which her oldest son's defense lawyer Richard Nash worked to paint her as a liar who favored her younger son, Jake Wagner, during the mass murder trial of #georgewagnerIV in the #rhoden family slayings.

Nash asked Angela Wagner repeatedly why she didn't call authorities when she grew concerned about what she called red "private parts' on her granddaughter (who is Jake's daughter) and suspected she was being sexually assaulted.

She said she didn't trust child protection or law enforcement. Later, Nash: "You husband and Jake left to commit mass murder ... How could you fall asleep?"

"I had been working all day and I had take prescription ibuprofen and it made me fall asleep,'' she testified. He again asked her if she asked any questions about what happened after they left and when they came back? She said she didn't know and never asked.

Nash: "You can't tell us who shot who?" Wagner: "No." Nash: "You can't tell us the route they took?" Wagner: "No." Nash: "You can't tell use who was shot?" Wagner: "No." Nash: "You can't tell us the weapons used?" Wagner: No

Among the most gripping testimony came as Nash asked her repeatedly about the plea deal she made with prosecutors, which dictates she will serve 30 years. Nash: "Thirty years? Four years for each life?... Your goal is to get out and see your grandchildren?" Wagner: "Yes."

Several members of the Rhoden family, most of whom have attended the all nine weeks of the trial, wept during Nash's questioning and her answers.

Nash continued: "You did what you had to do to protect yourself?" Wagner: "Yes. I have regret. I have remorse and I am more than sorry. She (her granddaughter) was a baby. She was my family."

Angela testified that in their home there was a lot of yelling and disagreements. She said Billy was abusive to her physically. She said he threatened to make her come with him to commit these murders at one point.

She said Billy gave her instructions on what she was to do. She was to send text messages from George and Jake's phones to make it look like they were home during the homicides.

The defense attorney accused her of not sending one from George's phone, but Angela said, "I am pretty sure I did both phones."

evening of the murders, the defense pointed out she didn't hear the truck leave, she never saw who went to commit the massacre, she doesn't remember Jake playing Boondock Saints clip for her, she can't tell us who shot who, the route, who was shot first or the weapons used.

Defense pointed out her history of dishonesty starting with calling law enforcement on George's ex-wife and accusing her of having drugs in her vehicle. Then, he said she lied and dragged her mother into the murders.

Then, the defense said you would be willing to lie about George for the chance to get out of jail in 30 years and see your grandkids again. "Your goal is to one day get out and see your grandchildren," said Nash. Angela replied, "Yes."

Defense pointed out that she is interested in protecting herself to see the grandkids again one day.
Nash: You are here to save yourself. You are here testifying in a death penalty case against your son. You had no regard for your mother or your son.

Nash: Would you agree with me that four years for every life you took was a great deal?
Rhodens watching in the audience started to cry at that point.

Angela said she is more than sorry but that's not enough. She said Sophia was just a baby, she was my family. So, Angela felt she had to kill to protect her.
this creature is delusional and is pretty presumptuous to even THINK that her grandchildren would want to see, touch or kiss her. Hopefully not remember her or they will forget her!!

Hope defense is finished with AW and AC does a quick re-direct today. I'm looking forward to Silas Wagner's testimony re vehicle used in murder. Please Silas... at least agree to audio!!!!!!
I would think he is horrified and wants to be transparent to all and show he didn't know, had no knowledge and is nothing like this part of his family.

I am curious if Billy's dad was anything like this or if it's just Fredericka. Silas is Billy's dads youngest brother I think I read. So this side of the W family likely is nothing like the others. Maybe he will opt in so he can show he is not hiding and that he was a victim here also. And then Billy's niece. Gosh can you imagine knowing you were given a vehicle that was just used less than 6 hours before to murder people and their blood could have literally been in that truck as you drove it?

So the reporting is meh, (and the sound on one of the attorneys is bad) but the attorney discussion is worth a listen regarding some things we haven't really discussed:

Will the jury believe the child was assaulted (or in danger of so)
And
GW sentencing possibilities

Ok, so this is the news source that keeps (erroneously) reporting that the death penalty has been taken off the table. They're wrong. It hasn't. That diminishes some of their credibility when they're talking about what might happen WRT to sentencing of GW4.

Pretty much everything they discussed has been discussed here before, with the exception of the uninformed arguments about GW4's possible sentencing. Maybe if they knew the DP is still on the table for GW4 and Billy, their views might change a little.

I also have to disagree with them about the importance of the SA testimony swaying a jury in GW4's favor. I'm kind of surprised they extensively discuss how the Wagners are an extremely crazy, dishonest criminal family, yet they take them at their word that there was SA of SW. Really? Did they miss the other credible testimony about how Wagners freely used false accusations of SA on both grandkids to attack other girlfriends, wives, even BCI? Let's reiterate - Wags accused BCI of abusing the kids during the interviews at the border.

Why do the people on this show believe those accusations in spite of evidence showing Wags have lied about this before?

JMO, based on a couple of errors, the people on this show are trying to do a good job of reporting and analyzing things, but they haven't been following the case or pre/trial, etc. closely. As a result, they're missing out on some pertinent info like GW4 still facing the DP, etc.

"I have regret. I have remorse. I'm more than sorry. But that's not enough. She was a baby and she was my family."
That's what Angela Wagner said this morning during her third day of testimony in the #PikeCountyMassacre trial of her eldest son #GeorgeWagnerIV

Today on the stand, Angela Wagner said she never wanted anyone killed "from the very beginning."
It was her husband's idea, she previously had said, to kill the Rhodens over fears their grandchild was being harmed.

Was Angela Wagner shocked at her husband's suggestion? "Yes," she said. "But I let him make the decision."

Angela Wagner also said that leading up to the homicides, she didn't question Billy, at least in precise detail, of how he planned to carry out the homicides.
In so many words, defense attorney Richard Nash found that hard to believe.

In part because Angela had previously testified to sometimes hacking into the Facebook account of George Wagner IV's ex-wife, Tabitha Claytor, to read her messages. That was to gather evidence in case there ever was a custody battle for George's son, she said.

Angela Wagner testified that Billy scoffed at her suggestion of turning Chris Rhoden Sr. into the authorities for drug trafficking. Instead of killing him. What was her response to Billy? "I told him to take care of it. To figure out what to do."

Angela Wagner also said today that she had loved victim Hanna Rhoden as a daughter, "at one point." What changed? She suspected Sophia was being molested. "I didn't know how she could let something happen to Sophia," Angela said, referring to Hanna.

Why not seek medical attention? Nash asked. Would that not have been a good time to seek medical care? "It probably would have been," Angela Wagner answered. "I don't know why we didn't."

Whether they believe it happened or not is irrelevant. It doesn't justify the W4 murdering eight people. That's what my basic point was about. Mountain Justice is wrong but happens.

She'd likely live out her days in a homeless shelter or quietly being a line cook, or doing laundry at a seedy motel, in return for a room. If Casey Anthony can find a way, AW will survive if she lives out the next 30 years.
Subsidized housing for low income elderly folks (if that's still around when she gets out). Food stamps. Sadly, I see women that age working at the local big box grocery store. I had one elderly client I worked with who was in her late 70's undergoing treatment for metastatic cancer who was working 30 hrs a week at the window of a fast food burger joint to pay her rent, utilites, etc. After that call, I wanted to punch someone. Ohio is such a great state.

IF that branch of the W family knew or suspected the vehicle was used in 8 murders, I bet they were scared silly keeping it under cover on their property for years.

We all know why you didn't, Angela. You didn't take her to a doctor because it wasn't true. She wasn't being sexually assaulted, at least not by the Rhoden family members. What were you really afraid of Angela? That you would lose your meal ticket - your grandkids?

According to AW, these 8 murders were the result of AW's love of her grandchild, What a despicable legacy AW leaves and a horrible burden on S. Disgusting beyond words.

A friend of ours worked two jobs to pay rent, two shifts a day, til he got sick and dropped dead of a grapefruit sized brain tumor. He was 70. I hear ya. Same here in Ky.

After his mothers testimony he needs to rethink a plea deal or it's not going to be good for him!
He's gonna ride this out till the end. If found guilty and LWOP or anything else, he'll petition the courts to infinity for a new trial.
If he pleas, he may not be offered the option to a redress; as AW was.
