John Cornely, Deputy Director Trial Services Division at Office of the Ohio Public Defender, hmmm...seems as if someone is calling in the big guns. I would if I were looking for a plea deal, just saying.

Rsd-was John Cornely a court appointed lawyer from the Get go, for Jake? I’m trying to determine the ID of the new/third lawyer at his table today. The info I’m getting on JC implies he’s a public defender and maintains a private practice, too. TIA


ETA: Gregory Myers is the new attorney, I think. Family law practice out of Columbus.

I think I will reserve judgement until I see what comes out in court. With DeWine stating that custody was the motive I think we are going to hear everything there is to know about any custody agreements verbal or otherwise.

I also think the new man in the picture precipitated the murders. Hanna seemed pretty serious about her new BF and I think that is when Jake knew for certain his dream of her and SW going to AK with him and the family was gone. I think he knew by seeing them together how serious it was and his jealousy exploded.

People the moving to Alaska deal came about after they killed the Rhodens, if they had planned on moving to Alaska before the 8 murders than they would have stayed in Alaska, they are more to the murders?

Here is a bit more about him on the Public Defender's Page. I think it reads as if he has given up his private practice. With four DP cases, they may be having to pull in folks that they normally wouldn't. This is a huge case with lots of eyes on it, and neither side wants a mistrial, I'm sure.

They were all there in November. Maybe one just wasn't caught on camera.

One attorney, Gregory Meyers, chief counsel of the state public defender office’s trial department, told the relatives “we’ll be pestering you” for background information. He added, “we need to know about family,” reminding them that as defense attorneys, their allegiance is to JWagner alone.

He may have gotten Billy and Angie involved by bringing up the Clarence R thing and telling them he suspected one of the male R's to be doing the same to SW. But it was all Jake. And I don't think he "loved" Hanna. I think he hated her because she left him and took his daughter.

Don't let Jake's young looks fool you. There are 16 and 17 year old boys who have killed their girlfriends because the GF left them and moved on.

I think JW desperately loved HMR, he couldn't image life without her & S. But something happened over the holidays that made him realize it was really over. The planning phase of the crime seemed to start 1/1/16.
Maybe talk of HMR & CH getting engaged or moving in together after the baby was born. Maybe CH got S an over the top Christmas gift and that was all S could talk about, that would make JW furious. Either or both could have been the writing on the wall for JW and he was heartbroken. When he finally realized Hanna would never again reciprocate, his love turned to hate. Don't they say the opposite of love is not indifference but hate?

Did you happen to read the link re: 2 defendants charged with same crime, one took plea, one did not? The one that did not ended up on DR even tho he’s not the murderer in their crime.
 
In reference to the Walmart discussions. The W's more than likely would go to the one in West Union which is approximately 15-18 miles from Peebles. Waverly is about 30 miles give or take, and Hillsboro maybe the same (30 miles). New Boston is also a possibility as it is on the way to where Angie's mom lives. (#52 East out of Portsmouth).
