Maybe the big red building is being overlooked somewhere. For example, perhaps the assessor site hasn't been updated to include the land having this building on it? I don't know, just a guess...

If the building had fancy lights and a watering system, it would be worth more to some people. Purely speculation without a speck of proof... and the photo is NOT from these properties. JMO

Throwing my hands up in surrender. I guess I am just assuming the guy wasn't stupid enough to pay 60 k for something valued at 1k. But according to you I guess he was and the value just skyrocketed after they moved the residence off it. I stand corrected.

It was worth 60,000 to him. I'm just curious why.

I would love to hear what your other questions are. I have a few myself... please share.

Don't think any of it it can be discussed until the info happens to hit the media, per the TOS.

How about your questions? :)

Also, on the value of the land there ... Is there any fracking of oil/gas in that area? Many in Ohio are cashing in, or expecting to.

I didn't ask about the previous owners; I asked if you had looked for real estate ads listing the property. I am curious if it was listed, so CR bought it, or if he wanted it and made the previous owners an offer. I am looking for old MLS listings now.

I doubt it was listed. I think sales are by word of mouth and I don't suspect anyone would pay a realtor to list their trailer but I could be wrong. In small communities you hear at the grocery store and gas station that so and so is selling their land or place so I don't think you will find a mls. I'm not sure how it came to be that the property was sold.

So that would mean the previous owner had the grow op and the CR invested to take it over?

Can't say. but it appears (at least to me) that he paid more than the property is worth. There has to be a reason... and that could be one. JMO

Bingo! 120k, in cash, for something the county assessor says is worth less than 52k. It wasn't just to get DR, CRjr, and HR+2 closer...they were already in one of his properties at a different location.

It looks like a good stretch of property if they (misguidedly) thought they were going to grow legal pot for the government. Or maybe they were going to lease grow for one of the people in line to actually acquire rights? http://www.dispatch.com/content/stories/local/2016/04/25/marijuana-legalization-efforts-differ.html Maybe the land was an investment for the grow operation. I watched all 7 seasons of Weeds and the big deal was to cultivate certain strains. I know that's what they do in states where is dispensed now. But I don't think thats why they were killed, I think someone needed money, lots of it and fast.

There is no need to try any case. LE can confiscate assets by a process of Civil Forfeiture without charging anyone with any crime. If they can show probable cause that an asset was purchased with money earned by an illegal activity, they can take it. I wish I could say this is JMO, but as I understand it, this is a fact.

The land, w/exception of DR's & where CR1s trailer was located, was all listed as et. al. I'm guessing the surviving family on the deed would fight for the lots that had their name on them, so they could sell them at some point. I'd doubt anyone would fight to get the trailers back. I'm sure family keepsakes would be returned at some point but sadly, that's really all that anyone would most likely want out of them. Maybe I'm wrong, but I don't think I'd want anything else other than photo albums, or hard drives w/photos.

The point is they don't have a preponderance of evidence yes they have seedlings but do they have proof that they had been dealing or was this their first try, they have cages but no proof of fighting they have a lot of what ifs....I'm just going to agree to disagree with this subject. Everyone is entitled to their opinion and I accept yours but choose to believe this is not what's happening.

Google "Civil Forfeiture Donald P. Scott" and then come back and tell me that this isn't happening.

I honestly think if anything they will not return the vehicles and or equipment. I'm not sure the family would even want the trailers but I'm sure they would like contents, which I believe will eventually be returned as in pictures etc... I do not see them seizing the land as I think heirs to this land which most likely would be the children are completely innocent.

I lean on the side that this family has already been through enough, and honestly unless they know more then "they could" I just don't believe it will happen.

For all we know these were the first batch of plants and they never even had any *advertiser censored* fighting that's just how they had the cages set up. The cars could be perfectly legal most of them seem to be fix uppers that could be purchased for very little at auction repaired flipped for a profit then take a portion of that profit purchase more at auction and do the same thing. The equipment seems to have been used at one of their side jobs at BBL it's not uncommon for families who have practically nothing to have equipment such as tractors etc and that's their most prized possession. FR was involved in derby and there's money there too which is not illegal he could of won quite a few prizes and saved some of that to purchase something there are just too many what ifs in this case. I really don't think putting the remaining members in this family through any further pain or suffering is in the best interest of anyone including the government. We are not talking a kingpin with hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of assets.

Yeah, maybe. I think this whole line of thought is way ahead of the game regardless of which way it is argued. We really don't know what LE's theory of the crime might be--or why. While I would tend to agree we're not looking at a kingpin, it does appear as likely someone here was able to get under a kingpin's skin.

As far as any assets being preserved for innocent heirs--I really don't think it works that way--if the property represents the proceeds of a crime.

JMO- The land value increased with removal of the trailers, simply because of the stigma in being this type of crime scene.

There's at least one website dedicated to identifying properties with that type of stigma.

People do list trailers here is 1 not sure how close to that area it is but there are multiple and this one is in pretty bad shape.

I actually witnessed a nurse being escorted out of a long term care facility for switching narcotics out for Tylenol! It definitely happens, but these were individual doses, not any kind of a lump sum.

I don't think it is possible for a CNA or a nurse to have taken narcotics from Hillside. My sister and other relatives have worked there. The facility is well run and it has proper procedures in place.

I've been reading all of this and following it and trying to make sense of it in my mind. I am wondering more about the day the murders were discovered and the family gathering at 3 am that the police interrupted to collect evidence and question the remaining living family?
I just think that whole situation seems odd. I am wondering, if half of my family was killed, the killers were on the loose, what would the rest of the family do that night after the murders? Besides the fact that the police were telling Rhodens to arm themselves? I feel like the police should have been there guarding them in a safe location. I wonder where they were? I can't even imagine how terrified I would be...UNLESS somehow I knew who did it and knew the rest of the family wasn't in danger...honestly I think I would skip town and hide or demand to spend the night at the police station. I don't know, just some thoughts.

We really don't know what they have.
