The plane jogged my memory, have you ever read, Bluegrass Conspiracy? True story. Multi-million dollar drug ring, in the 70s. I remember when it broke. Insane!!! It was at the height of the cocaine era around these parts. The book can be a bit draggy in areas but it's an interesting read.

I read it. Interesting read and shows how anyone can get into drug dealing.

Speaking of books- I just ordered “Deadly Kin”. It came up on a search when I was searching mass familial murders to compare instances to this case. It’s about a family of 9 that was killed by 2 cousins who were in love. In no way am I saying that happened in this case, but I sometimes get captivated by dysfunctional story lines and I’m certain this book has it all.

It’s so strange to me when trying to find cases to compare this case to-they’re either solved or nonexistent.

Prepare to be very disturbed by that book. I first read it years ago and reread it about a year ago. It had the same effect on me the second time around.

This has been going on for a few years now. Pills just aren't really the thing anymore (at least not here, there's no money in them). There's not much money in it because of the difficulty in getting the pills, and the inability to crush them up now. You can't hardly find the old style pills, the ones that folks were after. We've moved on to Heroin and Meth. That's not going to be in the DEA logs. I don't want the DEA collecting my info if I get a pain scrip, anyway, and filtering it over to the govt. so they can have unfettered use of my information. Govt. doesn't need all my info.

Police are now tracking your prescription drugs

I kind of go both ways on that. I feel there is a need to stop people from Dr shopping to try to cut down on overdoses. But then again I feel very strongly it is a violation of dr-patient confidentiality which should be top priority.

I remember before the tracking. There was no way for docs and ER folks to know. I had a friend who we actually called The Dr. He was a mess, but he could walk right into the docs offices and lift pads from the center, and right scrips, just like docs would, and go to different pharmacies in surrounding counties. Dude was a walking disaster but pulled it off for a long time. Died pretty young. Addict, related, of course. After the tracking, it got harder but the addicts got more creative. Now it's nearly impossible but the ****ing govt. doesn't need my name in any database that has to do with anything about my medical information, or personal life.

I do agree. After 9 back procedures im treated like I have no reason for pain. I hate what my medical care has been reduced to.

After watching this as soon as I read it, and hours of additional reading as I’ve been recovering from another surgery, I’m going to post what is presently my theory.

I believe that after several serious conflicts this is what happened.

The WS had been thinking about revenge for a long time. Years in fact. There had been more word spent on revenge than about the quality of food during family meals. AA was obsessed with it, and during one conversation she was tasked with coming up with a plan.

It was months before any child was involved but instead involved profit from the gun running hidden behind the Rs grow op.

You see it was safer for the Rs to hide most all if it on their property. They’re and had the buildings, the generators and room.

The dogs and chicken provided a Mother Natures alert system complimenting more than 20 security cameras around the property. Hand dug booby traps were quietly added by a cousin who had served in Vietnam. The cousin brought home more than stories when he returned from the war.

He brought home names of people willing to sell guns. Rather guns that were untraceable. Guns so sorely wished for by criminals, gang members and the underbelly of Detroit.

Wowsers. I downloaded that book and read it last night and this morning. I went to a boarding school in Versailles (since closed) right down the street from Happy Chandler's house. Some of the names I remember as approved guests for Sunday tea as they were all part of the Keeneland crowd (as we referred to them). They never smuggled in any coke for us, but did always seem to have high quality pot (better than we could get from the boys from UK) but this would have been 69/70.

CHARLIEGIZMO49 THEOry part 2

adding the grow op came 5 years later. RUnning guns had been profitable for everyone. Long haul truckers stopped sometimes every day to load cases if mostly guns from Florida to warehouses in Detroit. Some times it was as much as a semi load of 100+ cases of firearms and ammo. Other weeks it was a handful depending on orders from the Detroit crew.

For the last 5 years, Accompanying the guns was the additional MJ four times a year. Detroit, Windsor and Flint had absorbed everything the Rs could produce. And profit had been phenomenal.

Most recently the R group had space for heroin and opiods. The opiods were marginal as far as money made, but heroin had been the mainstay as far as paying every “bribe” and cost of doing business.

The Rs has to accept that business with Mexicans was dangerous but it paid its way and more. The family had loyalty to each other and absolutely no one talked.

And so it stayed for a number of years. Moving guns and drugs was a way of paying the bills in country where most had trouble without food stamps.

The unraveling started about 2014. Those two younguns got a hankering for each other about the time they got the pimples. Grandma picked up on it first, she always had a way of knowing those love bites. She took her young grandson aside and gave him the 6o pack of different colored condoms. She knew the druggist in town and asked whichones were most bought by the kids.

She knew a baby with a much younger R would bring a fight. And her smarts panned out in the end.

While that hormone attraction played out curiosity was getting the best of AW. She was noticing the little things between DR and her ex. DR had a lot of little things she never had before. The first was an old fact flower planter beside her porch. The porch had sorely needed of repair so that didn’t come as a surprise.

Charliegizmo49 part 3

AW had seen the old flower planter as CRSR was moving it in place at the side of DR porch. It was the hottest day of spring so far in 2014. He was sweating like a pig on the front end loader as he slowly lowered the bucket in place. The excavator had been a recent unexpectex buy at an auction in Louisville. It came with the bucket, forks, a hay spear and a blade that attached to the bottom.

In late winter it wasn’t unusual to see GW blocking UHR taking it from neighbor to neighbor plowing snow.

GW had the most fun plowing what little snow that fell in the Appalachian Foothills. It was a way for him to let off steam when the cold kept him indoors packed like a sardine with his family.

They could afford the extra fuel for GW to have fun on the excavator. And the neighbors welcomed him with hot chocolate if they were home. That excavator was GWs toy and he began to think of it solely as his own.

Will continue this later.

I'm not sure about your players, but someone living south of the OH state line, further down a piece, told me in the very beginning that they were likely running guns up out of Ky., and drugs back, and got into something they weren't tough enough to handle. Just a thought they tossed out and I've never followed up on it much.

What a blast from the past for you last night!!! It was crazy. Probably still is to some degree.

Chas gizmo part 4

AW’s interest increased by the day. She had seen the fancy old rose plant Myers placed one by one by CRSR Around the newly restored porch. CRSR told AW that he had bought 4 of the broken down planters at an old lady’s house in town. She had passed on and the family was selling everything. He had lovingly dismantled them piece by piece and had enough to put 3 back together complete. He had used all his skills to complete the small porch, and had added the planters so DR could have a quiet place to relax in the sun.

A few months before he had started to woo her back to him. They had been divorced but somehow he hadn’t been able to cut ties and move in. She was the mother of his children. He thought that was enough. The divorce was his fault after she found out he was visiting a woman in Detroit.

He sometimes ride along on deliveries and she worked packing the pills in tiny baggies. Their affair had lasted for 2 years before all he’ll broke loose after the woman called Dr for a chat. For over a year he had no one. Then one if the kids called them both for dinner and he remixed the okdsoarkvwas still there.

CRSR had bought a new used trailer house a few months back to begin the penance due for the divorce. He’d spent $30,000.00 for it and put another 5 to fix it up for her

. He spent a whole day painting the big bedroom pink and beige, hoping she would like it. He had asked AW to find lace curtains at Walmart and they had put them up together. GW and JW loaded a bedroom set he found second hand in Waverly. He went all out to make it real pretty even replacing the hardware on the dresser. He had kept their marital bed and moved it over to the new trailerhouse shortly after the paint was dry.

CRSR’s plan had worked and D had moved into her almost story book house shortly after they both admitted they had never stopped loving each other.

Word had gotten around the family in less than 24?hours. Almost everyone was happy for CRSR.

Almost. the W’s were astonished.

There is so much money to be made that people can not resist. I remember reading years ago that people would buy a twin engine plane to make one drug run to South America and back. On their return they would land the plane in a field and abandon it. They made enough money that they could buy a plane and ditch it....
Oh yeah. I remember when flying in drugs was profitable. That was right after taping bags of cocaine to the bodies of gullible young women and flying them in from expensive vacations in third world countries began to fail and resulted in long prison stays.

Dudly you need to add religion to that list. My son and DIL doesn't smoke, drink, take drugs or gamble, but he spends most of his day either reading the Bible or talking about it to anyone who will listen. Religion consumes his life and the lives of his wife and children. Hubby enables him and spends hours on the phone each day talking religion with him. He knows it irritates me so he goes outside or in another room to talk. I am beginning to think they are all hopelessly addicted. Problem is there are no rehab centers for them, and I feel like if I tried to get them put in one I would be viewed as the crazy one. It's getting harder to deal with it all and I am beginning to feel like a person trapped in a family of alcoholics and I am tempted to reach for my first drink.

Does this make sense to anyone? Anyone have any suggestions?

I was raised Catholic by overly religious parents. My mom spend hours a day praying. We prayed the rosary almost every night as a family. As kids we were going to hell for about everything we did wrong. When I moved out, I wanted nothing to do with religion or church, I had enough of it. Later in life it made me wonder what good it did for them. My mom ended up with Alzheimer's and knew no one or anything for years and dad was totally disabled at age 55 from a broken neck in an accident...

O/T
Thank you for understanding RSD. So few people do. My family was raised strict Pentecostal (no snakes lol). My brothers got away from it some in their late teens and early twenties but when it came time to marry and settle down they were right back into the fold. Our spouses are all of the same faith. The funny thing is we didn't raise our son strict Pentecostal. Yes we went to church but it wasn't a big deal at home, he went to parties, went out with friends who were not of the same faith, to movies ect. His wife was raised Catholic although his kids were raised Pentecostal. It's only been the last seven years or so that he has gotten into it so deep and his wife has converted to Pentecostal. Hubby wasn't in it that much either until our son got into it. I get no help from siblings or extended family because they don't see a problem.

Posting on here and reading what you posted has made me realize I need to get into counseling. I need someone to talk to who isn't biased.

Thank you RSD.

No problem Raisin. I like to toss in the "no snakes", kind of jokingly, but also because I've honestly been asked that question. It's only a very, very, small branch, but, as you probably know, it sells papers and gets clicks. I'm not a counselor, but that's a good idea, and if ya wanna blow of steam in the meantime... Most of my family were raised Holiness Pentecostal. Maybe WS could set up a religious discussion section, oh, no, I don't think that would work very well, on second thought! lol

Same, when I skipped out, it nearly took an act of Congress to get me into a church. My mother had at least an hour set aside for prayer, and then there was the studying, etc... I'm well versed in "Bible". I don't mean that in a sarcastic tone either. After I left, I went on the big dates to make my mother happy. That was it. I don't even do that now. Although we were permitted to go out with friends, listen to mainstream music, wear clothes that other kids did, cut our hair, etc... I did not realize that everyone else's family wasn't like mine. I'd go to friends' homes and most didn't say grace! O.O I was quite amazed. We say grace over a snack, in my parent's home. I don't care if it's a cookie, or a whole chocolate pie. I will say that I am a believer in a higher power, and of the red letters, however, for the most part, I think we are left to our own devices, down here, or, some prayers never reach the sky.

Saying a prayer before eating was as expected as sitting down to eat. We didn't do bible studies but were reminded often that we'd burn in hell for skipping church service and not praying enough...

Wow! We were encouraged, but not quite like that.
