Just got a google alert on that article JanetElaine! Thanks for posting that. Unfortunately, as usual the reporters never give us the next court date....

You're welcome. :) This time, I don't think the reporters know... the docket doesn't show a next court date yet for either one of them.

You'll have to put their names in on the following link: http://ecourts.mahoningcountyoh.gov/eservices/home.page.2 (scroll down and follow instructions).

Wow the accused Facebook is crazy LOL...the comments.

Hopefully there will be a confession and plea to save the family from the nightmare of a trial...

Nah that's just the paperwork, meaning that Novoa and Layton both got served with a copy of the indictment and notified that they will indeed have to go to court. It was sent to the sheriff because they're both in the county jail. And then the summons returned means that the sheriff sent it and a sworn statement that the accused has received the summons back to the court to file.

It says 'next event' on October 3rd. That'll be a hearing or other pretrial event.

Hi JanetElaine - came here to post the same article! Thanks!

I read that article you linked in your post #71, but I don't "see" the date of Oct. 10th anywhere in it?? :dunno:

Hmm looks like they edited it out. I did think it was rather fast, so maybe they made a mistake, or have been asked no to publish it... :dunno:

It is also here as a tentative trial date: (are radio stations considered MSM?)

I looked it up on the docket and there's a pretrial hearing scheduled for 10/10.

Edit: and as soon as I hit post, I notice the jury trial is indeed also scheduled for 10/10. Rather odd:

10/10 8:30am jury trial
10/10 2:30pm pretrial hearing with clients

I think it's safe to say a jury trial won't be happening on 10/10, but I'm going to keep an eye on it regardless.

Btw it shows that Katrina was appointed an attorney - Lynn Maro. She's very lucky with that. Lynn Maro is good.

Novoa retained counsel (Jennifer Ciccone).

perhaps where it sits the trial as 10/10/27 that is when there will be jury selection, with trial to follow?

From AN’s page on the docket:

10/03/2017. JE>SEE ATTACHED IMAGE[/TD]

JE> CASE CALLED FOR IMMEDIATE PRETRIAL HEARING FOLLOWING ARRAIGNMENT. STATE WILL PROVIDE DISCOVERY TO THE DEFENSE. CASE SET FOR PRETRIAL ON HEARING ON 10-10-17 @ 2:30PM. (L D'APOLITO) SEE ATTACHED IMAGE

You could definitely be right, Spellbound. Is the jury selection process normally listed under 'jury trial'? I honestly don't know and I would just be guessing.
