OH - Shawn Michael GRATE: 3 bodies found, Ashland/Madison, Sept 2016

For anyone who is handy at checking county court records it would not hurt to check all the surrounding counties for charges the press has not dug up yet. I'm not good at finding/understanding court docs. I'll try to keep up with the timeline if you guys can find the docs but the posts are getting long/close to the word count limit. I may need to hand this off to someone that knows how to do a google document/spreadsheet thingy. I don't have a google account to make a spreadsheet to share. If anyone wants to jump in, please go ahead! You can use the rough timeline I posted earlier. I only started this thread because I have an interest in helping find missing persons and here was an amazing story about a rescue of a missing woman. I wasn't expecting this to turn into a serial killer case. Now I'm sucked into this. :panic:

So weird that the age of the remains is so broad: "2002-2007 - but perhaps only a few months before discovery..."
I don't think I've every seen such a loosey-goosey time frame on a MP report before?!?

You'd think there would have been more effort into pinning it down tighter. Same with her height.

Missing persons cases not easy

Richland County currently has eight missing adults entered into LEADS, including Warner, according to the Ohio Department of Public Safety. Some nearby counties have a few LEADS cases apiece, with two people each from Ashland, Morrow and Marion counties, and one from Knox.

There's more pertaining to procedure for handling missing person cases but that paragraph says two are missing from Marion.

Haha. And tough! You are The Timeline Guru for this case. Don't worry though, you seem to have it all down pat so there shouldn't be too much more to add.

*presses reply before walking off doing evil laugh... mwah ha ha haaaa*

So basically there's no way for the public to access LEADS, right? I wasn't able to find it on the web. Info on the different missing persons databases don't match up with eachother. Does anyone know which missing persons DB would be the most current and accurate?

I don't know if this was posted already, but I just saw this interview (video) with his ex-girlfriend of 5 years about him breaking into her house and hiding from police in her sofa: http://www.cleveland19.com/clip/127...dnapping-suspect-hid-in-the-bottom-of-my-sofa

It seems she is the one from the 2010 DV charges. She says he moved from Bucyrus to Mansfield after serving his 180 day (minus 10 days for good behavior) sentence.

I am not wanting to sway our sleuthing in any direction, but would anybody like to hypothesize if we we're likely to see any male SG victims?

Depends on COD in the known victims (we haven't heard that yet) but my first impression is he killed in violent rage and I wouldn't rule out male victims. The two known female victims are also very different in age and type (hair color, body type, etc) and every female involved with him that has been interviewed (from ex-girlfriends to women he tried to lure inside the vacant house) has looked different and ranged in age from 17 to 43. IMO he was a violent opportunist fueled by drugs. Murders of male acquaintances of his would not surprise me.

I don't rule out male victims but his pattern so far has been females. Appears quite a few fell for his charm. I don't find him attractive at all. Creepy yes, but not attractive. Not exceptionally talented nor did he want to work for a living. Living in an abandoned house isn't exactly the catch of the season. Most likely, they didn't know he was squatting in the house. Lured in.

There is a 17 year old missing in Marion Co. Justin Lovell. Missing since 6/24/2016. A few days after the fire in Mansfield. Endangered Runaway. Can't find much of anything about him.

I'm just hoping there isn't any children involved in his killings. He's had the time to kill quite a few women already.

Have they announced who and how many are handling these cases? One article said they had 8 officers in the department. I believe it was Ashland? BCI should be helping, I'd think. They have to be spread thin with the Rhoden & Gilley family murders, the overdoses on carfentanil/heroin and the Vanishing women. Wow, grew up in OH.

Here is the timeline in a spreadsheet with a couple of minor changes. If there is anything that needs to be added or fixed as of today, let me know. Otherwise, I'll update it as we learn more about the case.

Thank you for keeping all the facts in order!

I did find out one of the women he dated lived in Chorpus Christi Texas. Might be why or how he met her. Haven't checked the dates to see if it was possible. The woman made an open comment on a news article via fb identifying their relationship. She has been in MSM and linked. Not ID'ing her. Hope this is okay? (probably not...)

Super work AF555 and Gardener for the timeline :)
IF possible, and if it's not too much work, I would love it if we could have a column with link for each entry. Perhaps the source is the same for many of the points but there is a lot of info over many years and it would be great if the source was there so we can access it quickly if/when we need to cross-reference with new cases...
