It's so frustrating that we all think about her and all the possibilities of her death and the killer and have yet no brilliant lead that would help to identify her.
Is some information available about discovery of Georgia Geer's body? And how big is the possibility of a mistake in the police papers?
I couldn't find much information about her case despite of that in 1974 she disappeared from Texas together with her best friend and they were probably victims of a serial killer. And it was in 1981 they found the body, it's a 7 years difference. Human face is changing through years, especially when you are a teen. I think no one of you would recognize me from my early teenage pictures and I'm not even 25 yet. When I look at both those girls I see very much resemblance, especially the noses are similar, they're both pretty short and this is some of the features that doesn't change so much under the years.
I still think she must have been killed in a vehicle where she could take her shoes off. Her killer was not experienced, I see it more as an act of rage or anger.

You are asking the same questions I have been. Only a few bones were located. Maybe Georgia split from her friend and did run away. It's very possible.

As for the death of BG, I think she was riding in a vehicle and comfortable enough to kick her shoes off. Things turned bad and the killer had to hit and strangle her. I'm hoping she at least kicked his *advertiser censored* before she died. Her body then taken to the country and quickly dumped.

With all the traveling she did, maybe she was a trucker or bus driver. BG, I mean.

"The remains enabled authorities to say Friday that the girls were Georgia Geer, 14, and Brooks Bracewell, 12, both of Dickinson. The remains were found along Brazoria County Road 169, south of Alvin, Texas.

The young girls' skulls were first located in 1976 by an oil rig worker. A search followed, Wingo said, but produced no more remains."
....

"Wingo said that 'volunteers' from the Texas Department of Corrections and the county jail -- supervised by Brazoria County sheriff's deputies -- spent 4,169 man-hours searching the area. He said the 'volunteers' found enough remains of the girls to enable authorities to identify them -- largely from scattered teeth and patches of clothing."

It's getting so strange!
How was it determimed that the skull belonged to Georgia?
It is possible that she ran away from her friend, she was 14 at this time. I read somewhere that the family of Georgia's friend was patchwork then maybe her relations with own family were not perfect either. She may had fallen in love with some older guy that travelled, maybe a truck driver or someone who would become that. Girls that are not well looked for or from broken homes (her best friend was at least not from a typical family) tend to be easier manipulated by older guys and then maybe being with them in abusive relationships. If he was driving much than she also learned to drive in early age, without license and maybe later she became intrested in motorcycles. Maybe the buckskin jacket was bought at some event she attended. And we know how the story ended. For me she weren't a typical young woman. I also want to say that even if your living situation is bad or instable it dosen't mean that you loose your hygienic habits. A toothbrush or soap are not hard to afford even if you don't have money or travel often.

Apparently the were only identified by scattered teeth.

Sounds like Georgia's may be worth re-examining. They could do a mitochondrial DNA sample, that's if the family feels it may be her. If they're at peace with the results, then they may not wish to pursue it.

That bothers me too Alleykins. I would not be able to approach her family or any family for that matter. I do agree about re-examining her case. Identification with just a few bone fragments is just not good enough. But what a horrible thing to have escaped a serial killer only to have been murdered a few years later.

Also, I think BG has not been identified because nobody knows they should be looking for her. If one is already presumed dead why would anyone search? Something is keeping her from being identified and I dont think it is the lack of love. All of us here would move mountains to find a missing love one, but only if we knew they were missing.

Apparently the were only identified by scattered teeth.

It says 2 skulls were found first. And then scattered teeth. Teeth of murder victims are scattered to make identification more difficult. Also dismembering if skulls were found without other body parts. They may have been able to determine teeth belonged to skulls found. This is also considered to be a case of victims of a serial killer of up to 20 young girls all of similar appearance down to all having same complexion, hair color and hair style. and 14 to 15 yrs of age. All having disappeared from a very small area. I'd say the identification was highly likely accurate. They must have matched all the criteria to put a positive ID with those remains.

Amazing news!!!!! DNA Doe Project is taking on Buckskin Girl as their next case and the agency (meaning the LE agency) provided the funds themselves! DNA Sequencing is just beginning and should be done by mid-April, as per the latest post on their official facebook page:

So they've been talking to the agency for many months & the agency was unsure that the DNA would be usable but it passed quality control so it's good to go!

It won't surprise me if a lot of agencies get on board with doing this. Fingers crossed that something useful is found!

If the DNA Doe Project is successful with one of these cases I think they'll get pretty overloaded with requests! The good thing is, not every agency will need financial help; larger ones like Buckskin Girls' can foot the bill themselves which is great and will enable DNA Doe Project to take on lots of low-profile, 'forgotten' cases too.

I hope they'll give priority to the old cases, those where all other avenues so far have been exhausted and where there might still be elderly parents or aging siblings wondering what happened and for whom time is running out. There are so many of them outstanding from the 1970s and 1980s.

There is more to it than that. The hair style seems to be similar. It was pieces of skulls found. Fragments. Here's a more complete list https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Texas_Killing_Fields_(. If that pops up. The similarities were more vast than just 14 and 15 year olds but most still pretty young. You can see why I question this. I think Bell was a chronic liar although I think he was responsible for a couple of deaths.

This is probably basic info and I just missed it but Buckskin Girl was found barefoot, right? were her feet super calloused or did it seem like maybe she just took her shoes off in the car and then was murdered? Because I feel like that could potentially be a clue.

As I recall (I'm not sure exactly where it was stated), her bare feet were clean. That is to say, she had not been walking barefoot outside prior to her death.
