This is the mark on the forehead that I was talking about. At first, I thought it was part of the wound, but I'm not so sure. I would love to find out if it is, or if it's a scar or blemish, because Patricia has a similar mark in the same place as well.

Wow pretty interesting... Also looks like they both have a mole on the upper nose area

I NEVER think any of the pictures anyone posts to any MP thread look remotely like the person in question. However, this one is just uncanny. If it isn't her, Buckskin girl was her doppleganger.

Have to say that's very interesting.

I'm certain that's it, thanks for finding that, Dot. When they state that the leads didn't go anywhere, are they confirming they saw her in the bar but what the witnesses in that bar said didn't pan out? Or are they not even sure she was in the bar? I can't tell.

I'm reading it as no one remembered specifics about the girl in the bar such as name and where she lived. Here is the quote from the article

http://triblive.com/news/projects/ourstories/10570633-74/doe-jane-hickey
There were plenty of tips in 1981, said Hickey, who hadn't been born yet, but “none panned out.”

“Some locals said they saw her at a bar, but those leads didn't go anywhere.”

Years passed. Detectives kept the case open, constantly checking Missing Persons databases. Strangers continued to leave flowers at the grave in Riverside Cemetery in Troy, Miami County.

Investigators suspect Jane Doe was killed elsewhere and dumped along Greenlee Road just west of Troy in Newton Township. They concluded this because her bare feet were clean, showing no indication of walking on dirt, and because Interstate 75 is just 5 miles away, making it a convenient and discreet drop-off spot.

And they are certain she was not from the area. Somebody would have known her.

Thanks, Rose. That was the sentence I was referring to. To me, it reads like the accounts of her being in the bar were credible but that the witnesses couldn't give them any information that would lead to her identity. I would love to know where this bar was and what the witnesses actually said.

Does anyone know what the weapon was that had been used to strike her on the head? It does not appear t be consistent with the nail remover on a regular hammer.

I know there has been much speculation regarding her clothing; a friend of mine who is a fashion designer and a specialist in vintage clothes who has looked at BSG's case with me states that her sweater is most likely from the 1960's, and was definitely mass produced. Her buckskin jacket she says with confidence was professionally made, not hand-sewn as some have suggested. My friend is speaking with a friend of hers in NYC who's even more of a specialist in vintage clothing in order to try to determine actual manufacturers.

Ive just seen a full facial picture of Patricia - didnt take a second for me to raise my eyebrows at just how similar BG looks to Patricia.
It's in their demure - both the picture of Patricia and BDG have that quality of character about them in their pictures.
... as well as the physical similarities pointed out.

@Rainwater - stated in her post on Patricias thread -
Namus will not list ruled out Canadians in the list of official ruleouts for American UIDs.

It maybe that there is a problem with the crossover from country to country.

When I asked the NamUs rep about listing foreigners as rule outs, I got no real reply one way or the other. The rep did say that they won't put a case file for a foreign citizen in NamUs unless they went missing in the US. I did see one rule out from Australia listed, and it was only rumored the MP could have been here, it was never substantiated. I think it was for Princess Doe? I can't remember, but I think listing them as rule outs is a possibility but it's rare. I've only seen one.

I was told that they can be listed as ruleouts, but somebody has to go in by hand to add the information, which can be time consuming for a busy officer, whereas ruling out somebody who's already in the system is just a checkbox.

I think the forehead mark on BSG is a result of whatver was used to strike her head - though this was an incomplete blow. The mark on PS does not match up with BSG's - PS's mark is to the left of her pupil, whereas BSG's is a bit to the right. None-the-less, the PD should F/U and at the very least seek to rule these two out...

I wonder if BSG and her BF/husband got into a bad face-to-face argument in the morning in their bedroom when she was getting dressed? She had her bra and her sweater on - the argument got heated and she said, "I'm leaving" and put on her pants quickly without putting on her undies, as she just wanted to get out of the house. She's still barefoot; maybe her shoes are by the door. I think the house was very, very clean - I think they had money, and traveled a lot... BSG has a ruddy complexion because they enjoy the outdoors (hence the scars), like climbing, horseback riding, hiking, canoeing, camping, etc (I work as a Park Ranger and my complexion is ruddy; my boss, who's been a Ranger for 35 years looks Native American Chief, even though he's White). At this point, the argument may have moved into the livingroom, or kitchen area, and they are still face-to-face, and things have gotten more heated. BSG then puts on her distinctive jacket and walks back over. The UnSub who is right-handed and probably just a little taller than she is picked up something (I wish we could figure out what kind) and struck her on the left side of her forehead. The UnSub then struck her on the head 2 more times in quick succession, just as BSG is turning her head down and to the right (either to avoid further blows, instinctually, or else because she's starting to become delirious - I don't think those strikes knocked her unconscious). The UnSub is still in a rage, and strangles her. The body lays there until nightfall, when he carries her out to his car, and drives on the highway until he's out-of-town, the lights of the city far behind him, and in the sticks (that area was even remote back then), and dumps her body. I think the suspect was her age, probably her partner, and that they were both gainfully employed with good-paying jobs. I think they may have had a house together, not an apartment, but they may have been on vacation when this murder occurred.

I've said this before, but it bears repeating: in 1981, there was nothing at all unusual about not wearing panties under jeans.

Nope. Nope, there wasn't, at least, according to my sorority sisters in the mid 80s who had been going commando for years. Shocked the heck out of me, but I thought I'd try it and went panty - free at a frat formal--in a miniskirt. Note to self. . . .

Heh. I never did under miniskirts, but jeans and cutoffs, yeah, sure.

The buckskin tunic is nicer than anything I owned, but otherwise she could have been me or one of my friends. I suppose that's the thing that most breaks my heart. She could have been me. Or I could have been her.

I was going to say that, at least here in Chicago, I didn't know any women who went Commando under their jeans. I agree - I could never have afforded a Buckskin jacket like that - heck, even now it would be a serious purchase for me. That's why I think she had money; not to mention her eyebrows were perfect (like they'd been professionally done), and even in her autopsy pictures she looks very healthy.

Had I been thinking ahead, I would have worn underwear. It wasn't until I started bopping around to What I Like About You by the Romantics and felt a bit of a breeze that I realized I might be flashing everyone. I sat down after that.
I think the nicest thing I owned was a Levi's jean jacket. Buckskin wasn't "in" where I lived, but leather bomber jackets were just entering the fashion scene when I left HS.

I do this because it very well could have been me. I worked pumping gas from age 11 until 28, there were many times I was alone. I've been with a few abusive men, am lucky they never killed me.

I had a few name brand leather bike jackets. Can't recall the name of the store leather warehouse maybe, and am not sure if they're in a bin or my closet lol Everything I had I bought with my own work money.

Never went commando. The guys used to.

Arm chair ----It's much easier if you're planning on driving 571 to just go one exit up to Tipp city and get off on 571. If you get off on 55 in a semi you have to travel all the way down to 48 and go left into town to get to 571.

Calumet isn't really convenient for Semis, neither is Iddings.

That's not to say it doesn't happen though.

Thank you Raindance. I'm trying to figure out if this feels like a random dumping spot or if the killer knows this area. What do you think?
