TY, Noway for clearing that up for me!!

I just read Noway's post - I totally missed that Stephanie's Jeep was at *her* house....for days I thought it was at Tina's...I thought that's the way it was reported on Thursday - & why it was so confusing about her 'truck' even being at Tina's. ugh.

They initially reported that it had been found at Tina's IIRC. So it's not you ... it's the media. JMO ;)

Or maybe Stephanie, so little has been said about Stephanie. I haven't even read when Stephanie was last seen by anyone. Did anyone else see that anywhere?

Somebody mentioned that there is a lot of support for her from her family on FB - I haven't seen any of it and no links were ever posted.

It would be good if we could find out when she was last seen or talked with. We don't know anything about her!

*Davis said Hoffman did tree trimming work and had built a fire Wednesday night in his backyard, where there was a mound of ashes Sunday with tree parts on it. She said he walked to a nearby park with a lake almost every day and was a "nature person" who collected leaves.*
:(

Surely if he was burning bodies, Davis or another neighbor would have noticed an unusual stench, unlike burning wood and leaves.

Like someone else said...probably evidence (perhaps mask, gloves, ropes, clothes).

Maybe they are searching at night because they have the heat seeking equipment they need to try and locate a live person.

If he is violent toward animals, I don't have much hope for the little dog...:(

Not sure how he overpowered two grown women-does LE know if he had access to a gun?

I watched the WSYX - ABC6 news at dinner today, but unfortunately, it was mostly a rehash of everything we've heard.

The broadcast noted that Hoffman had been violent towards animals and aired an interview with a neighbor. She called him a "weirdo" and mentioned him peeking out of his blinds often. She characterized him as paranoid.

They aired a statement from LE, reiterating it was still a missing persons case. They had hoped to find others at the house, but had mostly expected it to be Sarah.

One of the articles I read online also interviewing a neighbor said he hung out at the park near the neighborhood, and they've seen him taking bags over to the park, sometimes coming back with the bags, sometimes not. I wonder if he was selling drugs over there.

Except that it seems to be a non-LE search (but that doesn't mean that they won't have LE with them). Maybe even the family/community are keeping some things on the "down low".

I had been thinking this too, about the grown women, however, they both are small women 5'3 - 5'6 and little over a 100 pounds each, at least compared to me.

It is unclear when anyone last saw or heard from Sprang. Her Jeep was found inside the garage at her home on Magers Road, just around the corner from Herrmann’s house.
Herrmann’s pickup truck was found abandoned Thursday on the campus of Kenyon College in Gambier, about 7 miles away.

Well, I'll be a monkey's uncle! That is absolutely the first time I've heard that! What is the point of sleuthing cases if the media is just going to give you completely wrong information about every single thing?

I can't help thinking they knew him as well-- even something as casual as being a customer of Dairy Queen.

And what about Stephanie? Does she work? Have a boyfriend? etc, etc.....

It could be that she's the connection to Hoffman. Who knows??

LOL Steadfast ... I've learned to refer to them as "facts as reported by the media" ... not always accurate.

Still, it seems odd to organize a search party to begin at 9pm on a Sunday night...and it's cold, someone said. Or maybe that is why they don't want to wait. But it is kind of dangerous.

I am guessing the family at least knew this creep by sight if he hung around at that house so close by.

The only thing that would make sense as far as grappling with two adults and two children is if he either had a gun, or if they straggled in one by one, and he tied them all up. Then somehow got Sarah to the other house without being seen and ushered the others into a vehicle...I hope that is not the case, as Sarah won't be able to tell them a thing. He could have walked the 5 miles alone without incident...

LOL. That is what I was thinking. I was thinking her vehicle was parked in her friend's garage in an attempt to hide it. But I guess it would more normal to walk a short distance like this of .2 miles anyhow.

I'm not liking what Davis said about her next door neighbor, Hoffman, at all. But then she allegedly was the one who said they took a body bag out of the house this morning, and LE has denied that.

That fire Wed. nite has me worried about what went up in smoke. :( She's lucky he didn't burn her house down, considering the condo arson conviction from pre-prison term.

And we still can't discount the house fire (with a body) from Friday nite (which has not been linked to this case, but I haven't heard anything about an ID or followup announcement by LE).

I'm not happy.

I am curious how close to his parents house the school bus stopped. It could be that he watched the bus, picked out Sarah, and followed her home. JMO.

They might have figured this afternoon's press conference would reveal more information about where they might be. But after hearing nothing about their whereabouts, searchers figured that time is of the essence now if they are all alone somewhere injured. I would like to think that this guy didn't go far to do whatever he did so hopefully they will figure this out quick.
