Maybe because after all this time, they suspect someone did something to him. They’re not about to let onto that, but this is their way of asking for witnesses to come forward.
Keep in mind that this is just my own speculation and cynical thinking at work. ;)

ETA: Where is everyone, just realized I’m just talking to myself, LOL.

Stop talking to yourself, LOL!

The other angle that I consider is that his phone died when he was next to a major intersection- Morse Crossing and Seltzer Road. So he could have gotten a ride from a stranger, or maybe someone he knows that is passing through at that time of the morning. This would completely change the context of where he could be now.

Was out to dinner for son's GF's bday... :) here now !

To me, it seems like LE immediately suspected the wife and the friend, and focused on that angle without investigating other possibilities with much enthusiasm.

There’s info missing when it comes to them arriving at the hotel and getting out of the Uber. “He fell asleep and woke up extremely angry because he is always extremely angry when he is woken up, so he walked off and Friend followed him, but came back without him, and Tyler never returned.” Meanwhile, Brittany was at the hotel, in the hotel, in the room, in the lobby, outside, inside, lobby, all the while charging her phone in like one minute increments or something because charging her phone is why she stayed at the hotel.

I’m not saying either of them is responsible, but I believe there is info about their activities that has not been released to the public, and I believe that info is what has led police to be so quiet about things.

The thing is, Tyler walked into the night, completely blitzed by his own choice. That really lowers the chance of any premeditation in his disappearance- you can't script that.

His "choice" of route that night makes absolutely no sense. Not something that might be the result of alcohol IMO. I think extreme alcohol tends to slow you down and eventually make you pass out.

I just wonder if there is the possibility of an OD, someone finding his body, and removing the evidence. Trying to be vague here.

Right here now. :p

Have you heard Steph Young's take on the 411 missing young men ?
She thinks there is an organization abducting young men .
Not sure why as some of them are returned days later in a different area but somewhat disoriented.
OR.... someone caught him in the wrong place at the wrong time ?
OR... he fell into a manhole and was washed away ?

If he was drinking heavily, that's scary as a person in that condition would be easy prey to a nefarious person ??

He was definitely really really out of it...and I am kind of at a loss as to why now have a PC? There is no information, and I don't think they want the public all over Abbott Labs area searching at this point- that was a great observation he didn't say siri/ok google so he may have been talking to someone? Earlier we heard he spoke to the friend via phone after leaving, and they made it sound like in person as well. Where's the information about that?

It's just so baffling why it took SOOOO long to come out with that. I'll never understand these bizarre police procedures.

Really seems to me from the evidence that his phone died naturally, i.e ran out of battery life. I just get the sense with how much he was using it that there would be some evidence of any kind of impact or trauma.
So then, I speculate that he continued to wander for a bit, phone-less, until whatever happened, happened.

I wonder why they didn't directly ask for witnesses to come forward. They didn't say anything like what he was wearing and to report any sighting of him etc.

Well, if he got a ride, it didn't end well that's for sure.

I would check all cars that were at the spot where the phone died at that time.

I still have a theory that something could have happened in the 'woods' inside the Easton oval. Like someone hurt him or he passed out there. Someone took his phone so he could not call anyone. That person picked up his car at the Abbott parking lot, got rid of the phone and drove back to the oval to pick up Tyler.

First thing I would check is if there was any person walking and then driving out of the Abbott parking lot at the time of the last weird call.
And if that car subsequently drove to those 'woods' at the Easton oval, all my alarm bells would go off.

I don't know where to listen to it. But I read in the article linked that he said "take me to ".
Yes! And it sounded like a very drunk pissed off person in a vehicle that wanted someone to take him to the hotel.

Or a drunk pissed off person that thought he was being taken in the wrong direction.

Or even a very intoxicated person that was talking to someone else demanding to be taken somewhere.

It was not the way you would sound asking your phone for directions.

I do understand after this presser why Brittany didn't go after Tyler however. He seemed really out of it looking at the hotel parking lot video. And he didn't sound like a pleasant drunk (drugged?) person either.

He looks sounds like someone you don't want to piss off.

Do we know for sure that he’s not? Has LE said this specifically? I honestly can’t remember.
In the presser he says they weren't able to get any footage where he is seen walking they only have his voice.

Now I would really, really like to know if there is ANYONE on footage between the Oval 'woods' and (in) the Abbott parking lot when Tylers phone apparently was there. Or ANY car leaving that parking lot when they pinpoint the phone there.

Hey everyone!

I'm new to this thread. I worked at that Abbott location for 10 years and know the area well. Just some thoughts

- there's a gated entranced to get into Abbott's parking lot, so either the guard has to let you in once you show him your badge or you can swipe your badge for the gate to open. That being said, you could walk into the Abbott parking lot but when I worked there, they had at least 1 guard on site 24 hours a day along with cameras. If he was that close to Abbott, I can't believe he wasn't picked up on the guard shack camera at the entrance or another one but anything's possible. Also, just curious if Abbott checked who/if anyone used their badge to exit the parking lot that night. It is late sure ,but you never know. People used to leave their cars there and carpool or catch a ride to the Columbus airport because it's 10 min down the road.

- Abbott also has at least 1 pond on site although it's not very large or deep.

- that's not a quick walk from Easton to make it all the way to Abbott. It's at least 25 min and Stelzer is a busy road at times. Could someone have been driving home drunk, hit him, accidentally freaked out and dumped his body somewhere?

- Huntington is right by Abbott and the map shows him going through that parking lot too. They also have cameras and guards. I just can't believe he wasn't picked up on camera or arose the suspicion of the guards....unless the guards were fast asleep.

- Easton are the surrounding area is known for some crime. I know I sure the hell. Wouldn't walk alone at 3:30 in the morning in that area but I probably wouldn't in most..lol.

The other thing I noticed is he walks up to the front entrance to Abbott. I think if he would have kept knocking or using the bell, someone would have eventually answered. The guards would have heard him eventually and if not people would have started arriving early the next morning. Maybe not for work but Abbott has a state of the art gym and people would be there early to work out on a Sunday morning.

Welcome!

You are just the person I needed. I've been wondering a lot about that parking lot.

I noticed on the map the police showed at the presser that the route that Tyler (or at least his phone) took, leads all the way to the Abbott labs building en back again. Thats exactly the route a car would take to leave the parking lot.

Do you know if there is a receptionist at night?
And are there cameras at the entrance of that building?

Again, really glad you joined us.

I was just typing this question. Thanks for clearing this.

My conclusion, there was something strange going on in that parking lot. Because Tyler should have been noticed or at least be on footage. Very strange.

Yes, that's exactly the road you would take to exit the parking lot.

There isn't an all night receptionist but there are usually 1-2 guards always on site.

There are video cameras at the entrance but I believe they're actually on the inside right when you walk in. I remember the majority of the cameras there being on the inside of the building with the exception of a few by the guard shack at the entrance to the parking lot.

He sounds pretty inebriated (and maybe with not just alcohol?) on the audio clip from the press conference - he also asks for directions to the wrong place, 'easton suites' when he was staying at the hilton at easton.

Also, I do agree that something is missing from the wife/friend story and I'm wondering if it might be the use of other recreational drugs during the evening. Maybe tyler had a bad reaction to some substance that he didn't usually partake in? I don't mean a bad reaction like overdose I mean he freaked out and was paranoid, aggressive, disoriented.

It really is baffling why there’s been no pressers until now, but this detective is new on the case (3 months) and said he did this press conference just because his boss allowed him to. He seems to want to try something different by using the media to get this case solved. I am sad they’re no closer to finding Tyler but glad they’re getting his case out there finally.
