Tulsa County District Attorney's Office filed a motion Tuesday that the bond be raised for Freddie Allen Hayes, a 32-year-old Tulsa man arrested Friday for carrying a concealed weapon, trespassing and two counts of possession of a controlled and dangerous substance.

Hayes is believed to be "at a minimum" a witness in the Fairmont Terrace murders, according to a court document. If the motion is approved, Hayes' bond would be raised to $250,000.

TULSA, Okla. (AP) — One of two brothers accused in the shooting deaths of four women at a crime-plagued Tulsa apartment complex has pleaded not guilty to murder.

Special Judge Charles Hogshead entered the plea Friday on behalf of 39-year-old Cedric Poore and set his preliminary hearing for April 2, when his 32-year-old brother James Poore will appear in court.

The brothers are accused in the Jan. 7 shootings of 23-year-old twins Rebeika Powell and Kayetie Melchor, 33-year-old Misty Nunley and 55-year-old Julie Jackson.

Trial dates set for two Tulsa men accused of quadruple homicide

TULSA — A Tulsa County District Judge set trial dates for brothers accused of lining up four women in a south Tulsa apartment and executing them early last year.

James and Cedric Poore each face four counts of first-degree murder, but they will not face the death penalty when their trials begin early next year.
James Poore's trial date is now set for January 12, 2015; Cedric Poore's for February 9, 2015.

Has it ever been stated who the 4 yo boy belonged too?

I don't understand this. The death penalty is not on the table because some jurors could find them not guilty because of the death penalty???
I thought being a juror your duty was to find the accused guilty or innocent of the crime, not what sentence they would get.
If killing 4 people execution style doesn't warrant the death sentence then what does? JMO

It's all about "feelings" for many of these jurors now. They're not usually the smartest of folks, and many defense attorneys are skilled in steering jurors towards a more sympathetic view of the killers on trial. The defense can employ psychologists and other experts on human behavior to find jurors who may be more easily swayed.

James Poore’s girlfriend, who lived in an apartment neighboring Powell’s, has previously testified that he and his brother planned a robbery and returned with jewelry and drugs matching what investigators determined had been taken from the scene. Neither brother’s DNA was found at the scene, attorneys said Thursday...

Glassco scheduled the case against James Poore to be tried Sept. 14. Cedric Poore’s jury trial will start Oct. 19.

A jury trial for one of two brothers charged in a 2013 quadruple homicide begins Monday in Tulsa County District Court.

In advance of the long-awaited trial in the highly publicized case, the Tulsa World revisited family members of victims who were found shot to death with their hands tied behind their backs in an apartment near 61st Street and Peoria Avenue...

Kayetie Powell Melchor’s daughter — 5 years old when she lost her mother — recently had a “nervous breakdown,” Powell said, in which she “just stood and screamed and hollered and looked in the mirror and pulled her hair and was like, ‘Momma, momma. Why did you leave me? I love you.’”

Both sides delivered opening statements in the trial of one of two Tulsa brothers charged with killing four women in an apartment three years ago.

District Attorney Steve Kunzweiler told jurors the amount of evidence prosecutors have against James Poore, 36, is crushing. He says not only did Poore confess his crimes to people in his inner circle, the state has DNA and shell casings that tie Poore to the murders...

James Poore's attorney said no one claimed he had confessed until a month after the murders, so they had time to concoct their stories. He says James Poore's DNA could've been at the murder scene for months because he'd dated one of the victims.

In the video : James Poore's sister-in-law goes on the stand. Poore confessed to her that he shot each of the women in the back of the head. He was having a relationship with one of the victims Kayetie Powell-Melchor. He knew that her twin sister Rebeika Powell had drugs and money in that apartment because Kayetie had told him so. He said he had to kill them because one of the victims said his name. He shot them all twice in the head to make sure they were dead. Poore's niece also took the stand and said he told her about the murders. He said he was was doing what they always do which was "robbing" but that this time things went bad.

The confessed killer also cried in court and complained that he didn't have faith in his lawyers. Wah... oh now he is crying? He tied up 4 women and shot them in the head, really? Now he cries in court?

Defendant James Poore's girlfriend testified earlier Monday in the quadruple Fairmont Terrace murder trial... Jamilla Jones was given immunity for her testimony...

Jones testified she was mad at one of victims for accusing her of stealing. She told her boyfriend James how angry she was, and that's when she said James and his brother Cedric decided to "hit a lick," or rob them.

Jones testified that the men left her apartment, and when they returned they had items belonging to one of the victims including jewelry, drugs and a food stamps card.

The child belonged to one of the twins- Rebecca ( but she spelled it different ) and I think her mother has him now. Not sure if dad was ever in picture or not

I agree but Ive seen a lot of cases where the jury "suggest" a sentence but its ultimately up to the judge. I don't push for the death penalty a lot because there are some that seem guilty but are found to be innocent later but in cases where there is a confession or there is dna and overwhelming evidence and a case with multiple victims then I think its needed

They need to hurry up with the other brothers trial and get it over with so these families can maybe feel like they got some type of justice. These girls may not have lived a ideal lifestyle but they sure didn't deserve this
