Friends Of Duncan Homicide Victims Speak Out After Son's Arrest (news9.com)

---
Investigators have not said Alan Hruby is a suspect in the triple homicide. However, he was arrested for probation violations, a few hours after police learned the rest of his family were homicide victims.

A judge in Stephens County District Court signed off on a probable cause affidavit late Tuesday afternoon.

District Attorney Jason Hicks said the affidavit is for knowingly concealing stolen property. The document was not available by close of business Tuesday.

Hruby was a freshman living at Headington Hall, but OU administrators issued a letter Monday, warning staff that Hruby is no longer allowed at the university.

Investigation continues in Duncan triple homicide (koco.com)

We asked Police Chief Daniel Ford whether Alan Hruby is a person of interest in the death of his family.

“I really don’t know, I haven’t talked to the investigators,” Ford said. “Obviously anyone that had access to the house has to be someone that has to be cleared up.”

I will say it is rare a sole surviving family member is arrested on any charges after discovering his family was just slaughtered. I understand laws are laws, but I think LE would have waited or at least given him some way to handle it quickly and without much fuss under those circumstances. And that is all I have to say about that. :X RIP Hruby family. :( Very sad indeed.

Very interesting info on the school's behavior. Seems a bit much for just some stolen checks or credit card use.

Police question son of wealthy newspaper publisher - after he and family found murdered in their luxury home

• John Hruby, his wife Katherine and their teenage daughter Katherine were found murdered in their home on Monday morning by their housekeeper
• The family, who live in Duncan, Oklahoma, had not been seen since Thursday and police are treating their deaths as a homicide
• Their son, Alan, is currently being held in jail, after being accused of stealing his mother's credit card and violating his parole

The son of a murdered newspaper publisher is the only suspect in the investigation to determine who shot to death the publisher, his wife and teenage daughter at their home, Police Chief Danny Ford said Tuesday night.
Ford said authorities consider “no one other than him” a suspect in the investigation. Thus far no one has been charged with the murders.
John Hruby was shot twice, his wife once and their daughter once.

Hruby had reported to police that his 9mm handgun was recently stolen from his home.

Dogs of murdered Duncan family alive and well

DUNCAN, Okla. – Lexie and Lanie are two miniature Australian Shepherds that were most likely to witness a horrific crime.

The two dogs were the only ones to make it out of the Hruby family home alive

This headline screams it loud and clear, doesn't it?! Did you see the size of the big dog? Wow. How does one kill the owners without getting eaten by the dogs? Mmmm hmmmm loud and clear.

Totally not surprised. I've had several other cases running through my head that are similar.

I didn't see a big dog, just the 2 very cute mini ausies. " Keller says one of the dogs, Lanie, was named after Christopher Lane, the Australian baseball player who was gunned down in Duncan." From the same article above.

I guess I got mixed up with the dog I saw on his MySpace account photos. It was a large dog. Wonder what happened to it?

While on the one hand this one was easy to see coming, on the other -- wow, just wow.

Police Chief Danny Ford said that to his knowledge, the credit card case was the only time police had been to the home for a criminal matter. He noted that they had never been called there for any type of domestic incident.

Police at the station on Tuesday acknowledged having received a stolen gun report from the home this month, but they did not release that report to the media.

Tulsa World

Bitter irony perhaps.

The MySpace pictures are really old, Alan looks very young. Probably the dogs in those pictures have passed on. The only dogs the family had when they were murdered were the 2 mini assuies. The parents took them to the office everyday, they are now with one of the office workers.

October 12, the day before the 3 victims were found dead, the son, and killer, Alan Hruby posted this (with a photo of two, girl and a boy, of his Uni mates) on his instagram:
