I would guess Alan went to the OU/Texas game over the weekend and it is where the photo was taken he posted. Could have been part of the catalyst for their murder if parents told him he couldn't go due to not only the expense, but maybe it was against his probation or something. I read on one of his prior cases that he was supposed to start a program (delayed sentencing) in Nov. 2014 so it was coming up, too (I do not know how the program works or if jail was in his future anyway). Guess it doesn't matter now...he isn't getting out. Glad he confessed and made this a bit easier on everyone.

RIP Hruby family.

There are no Ritz Carlton hotels in Oklahoma, so if that pic is to be believed, he was traveling.

My initial instinct on reading this story was he didn't do it, but paid someone (my reference to Ewell case). After hearing he had prior crimes against his family, I switched into "he did it alone" mode.

Now let's hope his confession holds up and the police did everything by the book and then some. Unless they are able to stop it, he most likely will have access to a lot of money to hire a big-time attorney.

Son Charged With 3 Counts Of Murder In Duncan Triple Homicide

DUNCAN, Oklahoma - Charges have been filed against a 19-year-old who is accused of killing his parents and sister in Duncan.

~Snip~

Duncan Police Chief Danny Ford confirmed Alan Hruby as the only suspect in the triple homicide case. Alan Hruby is the son of John and Joy "Tinker" Hruby. Authorities said he has confessed to killing his father, mother and sister.

District Attorney Jason Hicks told a news conference afterwards that the motive for the murders was money. He said the son owed a loan shark $3,000 and believed he would inherit the family’s fortune with his parents and sister dead.

The prosecutor said Hruby will appear in court again soon for his arraignment on the three first-degree murder charges, and two charges of concealing stolen property (checks). Hicks said he is inclined to seek the death penalty but won’t decide that until he talks to surviving relatives.

What a . This kid wiped his whole family out for a measly 3,000? With his own dad's stolen gun?

From the article above:

Alan Hruby cried at the end of his arraignment Monday. Bail is denied.

I wiki'ed Jim Rohn, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jim_Rohn. Intro:
Emanuel James "Jim" Rohn (September 17, 1930 – December 5, 2009) was an American entrepreneur, author and motivational speaker. His rags to riches story played a large part in his work, which influenced others in the personal development industry.

Interesting to me that Alan postedc above quote--- from entrepreneur/motivational speaker w rags to riches bio.

When was his trip to Europe on fraudulently obtained $$$, using G'ma's name? Before or after ^this quote?

For some reason as soon as I looked at his social media sites when the murders were first announce I knew it was him--there was some sort of odd arrogance and self-delusion (all the TM-ing of his name, for one thing) that reminded me of Elliot Rodger and also Joseph Guy (though he hasn't yet killed anybody, as far as I know, and his thinking seemed more bizarre than either of these two guys). I don't really believe in evil people but it seems pretty clear Alan Hruby is a psychopath. I hope we'll hear more about his history...I'm interested in what warning signs, if any, there might have been (other than the credit card theft).

This really is such a sad story. I can't even begin to imagine what it would be like to have a close family member murder me so dispassionately.

What is pictured?
OK stadium? Did Alan commute to college from home? Did he live on campus in dorm? In apt off campus?
Or TX stadium? View of stadium from Ritz Carlton, bar, or restaurant, or friends apt?

Reminds me of the Notre Dame student who murdered his father, can't remember his name. Credit card theft was also involved.

I believe he went to Dallas for a UOklahoma football game after he murdered his family and this photo is taken from the Ritz Carlton where he stayed. I think he lived on campus.

On further reflection...would "Oklahoma" be in such letters at a Dallas stadium? The "Headington Hall" after the time stamp seems to refer to a fancy new residence hall at the University of Oklahoma that was built by the athletics department. Maybe he lives there and that's the view from his room?

Not only does he seem to have expensive tastes but maybe some gambling is involved. There is a picture on FB at a Casino.

Could not edit my posts asking about when Alan posted --
1. his Louis Vuitton wallet was chewed up by his puppy.
2. the motivational quote re finding a way to get what you want.

Both those posts were after his trip to Paris, w bogus bank card.

So did he get what he wanted by escaping jailor prison time, after his misdeeds came to light?

The affidavit for arrest referred to parents' cutting him off financially.
Was that only re paying for some or all of his higher ed?
When did they tell him that?
Had they actually done that yet?

Did they also change their wills and/or trusts? Other designations of beneficiaries for bank a/c, brokerage a/c, life ins, IRA, 401(k), etc.
