I hope Alan savored every shopping "high". He's toast. IMO

"People will do desperate things when they are cut off from their source that funded their addiction, but this is one of the rare cases I have ever heard in terms of a possible shopaholic killing anybody over that," said Dr. Terrence Shulman.
As far as Alan boasting about his lifestyle on social media, Shulman sees that as a window into Alan's mind.
"That tends to sometimes reflect a narcissistic personality trait where people have a fragile sense of self and they have to appear bigger than life to others," said Shulman.

I have a funny feeling that this young man has had a history of issues that his family & friends knew about......I suspect more will be coming out.

Last two words above may be relevant in determining family dynamics.I have a funny feeling that this young man has had a history of issues that his family & friends knew about......I suspect more will be coming out.
The actual trip to Europe was paid for by dad John's vouchers. It was all the extra's that were put on the Grandmother's credit line/fake card he got in trouble for.
John Hruby told police he had given his son an airline voucher to use, and Alan Hruby had traveled to Europe in June 2013.

bbmOklahoma triple-murder defendant made incriminating mistakes
DUNCAN — Triple-murder defendant Alan J. Hruby stuck to his plan to kill his family even though he made a major mistake on the first of two secret trips home last week, new details from the investigation show.
Early Oct. 9, about 1 a.m., Hruby was pulled over in his Jeep by Duncan police — for a traffic violation, Police Chief Danny Ford said.
The University of Oklahoma freshman told an officer he did not have his driver’s license. He gave police a fake name and a fake date of birth and was let go with a ticket, the chief said.

I listen to police scanners all the time. When LE stops a person, they give the dispatcher the car/truck plate number. Afterwards they say if the person got a warning, ticket or arrest. Not only was he probably on dash cam he was most likely on turnpike video at some point.
From SeriousltSearching's link:
Hruby did not use the turnpike on his second trip to Duncan, The Oklahoman has learned. ( so it means he used the turnpike for the first visit)
Not only a big spender but some gambling may be involved. In my opinion that loan shark that he owed could be connected with gambling....
Police are investigating whether he had a gambling problem. He tweeted a photo of himself at a casino Aug. 3, holding a payout voucher that looks to be under $50. “I was the big winner. #casino,” he wrote.
