Perhaps they may have hopped on a train? Freight train would have to slow down going through the populated area. Woulda been a lot easier to hop a train than to peddle all the way down to Schulter. Tracks run along the West side of 75... and sit between the highway and the massive auto junkyard South of Okmulgee.

Not that it's any of the public's business, but I hope the friends and families of these 4 missing men have told LE what they were doing when they went missing. I"m sure they know.

And whatever it is, will help locate them.

The only thing I can think of is that they didn't leave on BICYCLES, but MOTORCYCLES, and they called them BIKES. They could potentially have travelled much farther. JMO MOO
This is what I thought of right off the bat, but LE seems to call them bicycles, not even “cycles”, which would be more ambiguous.

Oct 13, 2022 article adds a couple of additional times I haven’t seen. It does seem odd to me that only 15 minutes after he saw Ms Parker, he asked where she was. What happened after that??

[…]

Parker said she and Mike just got engaged earlier this year. The last time she saw him was on Sunday.

“I seen him Sunday about 3:30. I knew he was going to hang out with his friends. That’s all I knew,” she said. “He texted me about 3:45 and asked me where I was. And I texted back, I told him I was with my daughter and that was, he didn’t ever text back.”

Interesting that article made no mention of the eye-catching fact that the men were on bicycles, riding about 3 miles down a highway. SURELY someone has seen that and can recall seeing them, if it's true? There was a case here of a man who accidentally killed his little daughter, and tried to cover it up by including in his timeline walking along the side of the highway, carrying his little daughter with long curly blonde hair. Said she was hit by the mirror on a truck. When NO witnesses could be found who had spotted them, the medical examiner knew his story wasn't true.

Same thing here. If NO ONE says they saw 4 men on bikes headed south from Okmulgee, it doesn't seem they're on the right track with evidence.

MOO. Very strange case. I was thinking about how LE knows the men went to two salvage yards and a gas station Sunday night. I don't recall any mention of eyewitnesses from those locations, but instead possibly LE is using phone data? If true, then I'm wondering whether it's possible that the phone could have been taken by someone else who went (drove) to those locations. Would like to know if any eyewitnesses saw any of the four men on their bikes at these locations or others on Sunday night. MOO

Hello, I'm new to Websleuths, but this case really caught my interest. Okmulgee is about a 30 minute drive to the north of me and a trip I make fairly often for work.
This is merely my opinion as an Oklahoman from a small town, smaller than Okmulgee.
For those going down the cycling route, cycling is not a very big hobby here; most cities and espescially these smaller towns are not equipped for people to cycle safely. It's very common for people who don't have a driver's license, a working vehicle, much money for fuel (which is harder right now due to higher fuel prices) or suspended licenses from DUI's or things of that nature to use bicycles or even riding lawnmowers to get around town; I see it several times a day. These bicycles are normally just your run of the mill $100-$200 bicycles from walmart or ones that are bought secondhand, nothing ever fancy like a road cycle.
.
This could very well be the case for some of the people in question. A quick search on www.odcr.com for their names shows that some have been issued suspended licenses in the past, as well as constrolled substance charges, but this is still purely speculation. This is an important fact to know about small town culture in Oklahoma.
.
Assuming that the salvage yard west of Okmulgee that they visited first was "Let's Ride Auto Salvage" (pictured below), then made a stop at Murphy USA on the south end of town, then ended up at the large salvage yard on Catalpa Rd. just north of Schulter, that is a 7.5 mile route with nearly 5 miles of it being on a major highway with constant traffic. The other option would be for them to have rode alongside the railroad tracks which run parallel to the highway on the west side directly along their route, which would also raise the potential of them being struck by the train or hopping the train. But, the odds of them hopping onto the train with all of the bicycles, riding down the line and then getting off the train with all of the bicycles without being caught by railroad workers or seen by bystanders is very slim. I would also assume that LEO would have searched the area surrounding the tracks along this route in search of the people in question.
.
The woods around the salvage yard are thick but farmers would most definitely be combing their fields the next day all around that area doing work.
.
Interstate 40, one of the most busy stretches of road in the United States runs east/west just 7.5 miles south of the salvage yard where Chastain's phone was last pinged. I-40 is known for being a horrible route for traffickers and smugglers so that raises questions as to whether they were picked up by motorists.
.
Also in our area, it is very, very common for people to ride bicycles (because they are quiet) to salvage yards, used vehicle lots, public transit parking lots, etc. to steal catalytic converters from vehicles for their high resale value. But, I assume that if an altercation were to have happened, after searching 25+ acres of the surrounding land, police would have seen some evidence of foul play.
.
My hypothesis is they were picked up by traffickers.

I'm guessing that they probably rode alongside the railroad tracks to the west of the highway. Or they could have been pushing the bikes through the woods.

Forgive me for sounding naive, but why would they be picked up by traffickers? Are you referring to drug traffickers? How can the traffickers be benefitted from picking up
4 men? A hostage situation?!

IMO I think what we'll find is that pieces of your scenario will turn out to be true. I agree that interstate arteries might figure in this case.

What would 4 men be picked up by traffickers for?

I actually had the notion they might have piled the bikes into a truck and gone to pick up something illegal, like a substance or people. This would be trafficking that the four would be involved in, not as victims.

Either way, I'm stunned!

This article says they were riding bicycles "pulling trailers."

Search for 4 missing Okmulgee men continues

I've not really ever seen anyone riding a bicycle pulling a trailer before. Wouldn't that be difficult? Is this common? I'm assuming they had trailers to put stuff on that they picked up at the salvage yards? So now we are looking for not just four missing bicycles (and men, of course) but also missing trailers? The only thing I ever see people pulling behind a bicycle is a little cart or contraption to carry a small child in MOO.

This is really a bizarre case. What are the chances four grown men go missing? Since the last known location of the cell phone data was at the second salvage yard, I wonder if they were there to either steal something and got caught or just there when they should not have been, and the property owner caught them and did something to them. It would have been night time and not that difficult to get rid of four bikes (and I guess now trailers too) if you had a pick up truck. MOO

[…]
She saw him Sunday around 3:30. Where was that? At home? Or did she drop him off at his friends house and he texted to see if she was home or not?

Did he leave home on a bike?

Saying that he would be home on Monday is odd too, why not say he was expected home Sunday night?

There is a lot not being said for some reason.

Bike trailers:

This is just baffling. What in the world were they doing, going from Okmulgee salvage yard, to Murphy's gas station (which appears to be in the south central part of Okmulgee) to a salvage yard near Schulter, which appears to be about 4 miles away? On bicycles, at night on a Sunday?

They were last seen "leaving Billy's house", which indicates someone was there when they all decided to leave on bikes. How did these friends all have bikes at Billy's house? What did the person who last saw them say they were planning to do?

I still think there's something not being said here, but I don't know what that would be.
I'm just coming to this thread and catching up. Scrap metal comes to mind. Or catalytic converters. Imo.
