"Nipp turned back westbound. Busting through a gate, and then traveling through pastures, running through fences, very similar to the route and the characteristics to the July the seventh pursuit," said Hampton. "We actually located the pickup truck that we had been chasing, about 65-70 yards southwest of the residence that Conn Nipp stays in."

Hampton said that neither trooper was injured. Troopers arrested Nipp at the house. Hampton told News 9 that Nipp did not show any signs of impairment and did not resist arrest. He added that every time investigators have tried to question Nipp about the pursuits or Molly Miller's disappearance, he has refused to talk.

My guess is he's decompensating. You know, when a person has a pathological personality disorder and reaches a point where he can't hold it together anymore. Acting out aggressively, self-destructing, just completely out of control. An expression of impotent rage.

Just checked ODCR and he's still scheduled for a hearing on the Motion to Accelerate at 1:30 today. This is for his 2011 possession of CDS charge.

He's still in the Love County jail as far as I know. Surely someone will give him a ride over to the Carter County courthouse for his hearing.

Con's mom was busted last night for DUI, possession of CDS, and transporting a concealed loaded firearm. May also face charges of assault with a deadly weapon for firing at a moving vehicle. She's in the Carter County jail. This is all according to a reporter for KXII News.

If you'll remember, she was named in the arrest affidavits issued earlier this month as taking part in the flurry of phone activity after the July 7 wreck.

Melissa Greenroyd, the mother of James Conn Nipp, was arrested Tuesday night.

Wilson Police Chief Felix Hernandez says she was booked into the Carter County jail for DUI and transporting a concealed loaded firearm.

Hernandez says the Carter County Sheriff's office may be filing additional charges of assault with a deadly weapon for allegedly "firing at a moving vehicle" on Dillard Road.

Sounds like Con's not the only loose cannon in the family.

"She was asked about any weapons in the vehicle she volunteered there was a weapon in the glove box," said Chief Felix Hernandez, of Wilson police. "When they checked the glove box they found a .25 caliber semi-automatic and it smelled like it had freshly been fired."

The Carter County sheriff's office is looking into claims that Nipp fired shots at neighbors.

"That was referred to the county because it happened in county jurisdiction," said Hernandez.

Seriously? WTH?

Its almost like the person is trying to purposely go to prison to live.

I've never seen a case like this where a person seems to be doing everything in their power to get in trouble.

This is absolutely crazy.

Here is how I see it if I have this right. This is a summary IMO.
-Receives probation or a sort of deferred sentence for previous serious charges and all they had to do was stay out of trouble.
-Does a donut in front of cops almost like a "catch me if you can" and 2 people in same car are never seen again.
-Original LE does nothing at first until public pressure forces OHP to get involved.
-Finally OHP realizes the public is right and this is serious stuff and 2 people could be dead, and so after investigating, then charges come down regarding eluding police.
-Those eluding charges force a hearing to be scheduled based on the previous probation for the old serious charges and its possible that sentencing of real jail/prison time may happen for the original deferred sentence.
-Right before that hearing/court day, he is arrested and charged with brand new serious charges. The new situation seems awfully similar to before where we have car chase, hiding in relatives house, etc.

It seems to me that the previous perceived "protection" from LE that he always had all his life is no longer there. I dont think he realized that protection is no longer there.

"And I tried to shut the door then he pushed on it, kicked it two or three times, and when he got in the guy started hitting me with both fists," said Nipp.

Nipp said the guy who hit him was a Love County Sheriff's Deputy, and the assault left him with injuries to his back...

The District Attorney's Office said one of their investigators is looking into the allegations against the deputy. We were unable to get in contact with the Love County Sheriff.

So that's one side of the story. There's at least six different versions of what happened the other night, depending on where you look.
