The dates you should look for 1973 throu 1975 in the News Papers for that area...some have archives.....Georiga....!
Also use your Internet searchs.Type In........car fire+Georiga+killed as a result of....re-word this and try a few Times....often I have just put in a Date and add a title....
its worked for me.....several times.I will try some verables....will let you know!
What is most Interesting is a fresh pair of eyes and life exsperances.......makes for good Sleuthing after all that is what it is all about.....Cold Case and re-searching old terrritory.....with New Approches....Sail On Astara,,,YA!never know.............

I think it's very possible, anything's possible...I have a complete list of his aliases, however, I am not sure we have compiled it anywhere in date order...let me look, anyone else know?

I went to visit and also took photos at the old site for the Georgia Baptist Home last weekend. I have not yet posted them here, everything is up on OCCI.

It has been told that FDF hid something in a tree near a memorial that was erected when the home relocated.

I took a trip there and there was a memorial and a tree as described...we didn't find anything...however, we had no clue what we were looking for. We are trying to get more information now that we know the memorial and tree really exist.

I will try to post the pics and info on the trip as soon as I am able.

As for the newspapers.....you can not get the articles from this time period online...but I have compiled a list of places that have them on microfilm and myself and animal04126 are going this weekend, I believe we decided GA Tech to go through microfilm and research what we can not find online.

"The Home"
Georgia Baptists moved the Orphans Home to Hapeville on a fifty-acre farm that eventually totaled eighty one acres.
Through the archway, erected in 1907, more than four thousand boys and girls entered. Here they were given an opportunity to mature and live in an environment that afforded the necessities of life. Here they received love, understanding, educational opportunities, and spiritual training. This ministry was made possible by the generosity, love, and moral support so willingly provided by Georgia Baptists, Hapeville's First Baptist Church family and the citizens of Hapeville.

Grateful appreciation is expressed to all who made "The Home" a reality rather than a dream. It continues today to provide care for children and families.

There were lots of trees at this park, however, they were mostly very tall and all 'trunk'...no hiding places...but as you can see from the pictures, there was one tree, very close to the memorial and it was the only tree in the whole park that had hiding places.

Thanks for posting these! Have you been able to look at lists of kids who lived there when Floyd did? It seems they for the most part aren't available online yet. (can't remember the details, but I rememeber discussing this quite awhile back in Sharon's thread). :banghead: I can't remember right now why I wanted to find out the names. But there was a reason. Anybody else remember? Maybe that female friend of his who may have helped him through the years, maybe he met her from the home.

do u think whatever he hid got sweept away with time. was any carvings made in the tree? maybe he dug a hole near the tree and hid stuff might be worth taking a shovel or those small garden ones and seeing if anything is there. but then again he could be lying about the whole hiding in the tree

First I will tell all of you I have followed much of your postings for a couple years but as I had nothing to give to the research that you did not already have. I have never posted, just read. I agree with you, the website screams Fake. Even the so-called bad spelling is contrived (just look at how many 'big' words are spelled correctly). I also mean no offense to anyone.

I took a look at the website too. At first I got the "fake" vibe, but then I wondered if it was maybe someone's translation---English as a second language. Like you said, the big words are there, but some of the grammar is atrocious.

Whether it's fake or a person with mental issues, it just screams "sad".

I sure hope no one is offended or anything. I wondered about it being fake. There are other websites that talk about her (kimmie) and her web page. Anyway I was trying to seee if I could find anything about a girl kept that long at a commune to see if maybe it were true. The only one I found was in the ozarks of missouri. It said in the newspaper article that eight people walked out of it. One was a twenty seven year old woman that had been molested as far back as when she was four years old. I will see if I can find a name for my own curiousity but if that is her then she is to old anyway.
