The two pastors come upon the car an hour after the women left? It would take them perhaps 30 minutes to get to where the car was left...so what made them go out looking only a half hour after the women left (which is likely about the time that whatever happened to them happened, since it takes a half hour to get to where they were). I wonder if one of them was on the phone with one of the pastors, or if they tried to call but got cut off and then the pastor couldn't get an answer when he tried to call back.

And/or they heard a gunshot through the phone, called 911 immediately and that’s what got LE there so swiftly.

The reporter makes an interesting point here, which is kind of what I expected. She’s near the location where the car was found, and says that her cell phone signal has been going in and out. She questions the ability of the women to even connect to 911 if they attempted to call.

Thanks for sharing. The video doesn't offer a lot because there's not a lot known. Why won't investigators talk about possible blood? How could that interfere with an investigation? How would items left in the car hinder such? Seems like a vs the public mindset.

One thing to keep in mind here, is that the guy we’re hearing from, the OSBI spokesman, is not a member of law enforcement. His background is journalism/communications, which is very different from what we’re used to in most cases, where it’s a police officer doing the communicating.

That’s why I think some of the messaging has been so confusing.

It's always been interesting to me that what authorities say and don't, as well as when they say things, tells us so much.
In this case, they knew from the start that the women disappeared as the result of foul play but they waited until recently to reveal that. That was intentional.
They also made a point of telling us from the onset that they didn't believe the public was in any danger. That statement let us know this is a targeted crime and not a random one.

Evidence of Foul Play Found in Search for Missing Mothers: Authorities

Veronica Butler and Jillian Kelley disappeared in a rural area of Oklahoma near the Kansas border.

According to court documents, the father of Butler’s children had been in prison for possession of a firearm and was released 14 days ago.

“We’re coming up on six days. These are two women no one has heard from and it’s extremely sad,” Hunter McKee of the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation tells Inside Edition. “We can say that what our investigators had discovered in and around that vehicle led them to believe that there was foul play involved in this.”

I've spent a bit of time in the Oklahoma panhandle. There are a whole lot of abandoned farmhouses out there, and I suspect most of them have old abandoned wells. Just a possible place to look.

I think it's really likely this involved a pre-dug grave. The logic here appears to be no body, no crime, and I'm confident this was premeditated. Something like pigs would take time, and they don't eat everything. That's certainly been done before, but that's when you know law enforcement isn't about to start knocking on doors and looking around.

I think so too. I think disposal of the bodies was prepared in advance. This attack was not spontaneous or due to an argument or whatever on the spot, imo. I think there were also more than one perp.

She and guests also explain that as lead LE, OSBI would need to be keeping both CO and KS LE in the loop — the three-state situation just seems to me to really complicate this. So unfortunate.

“In and around” could just mean shattered glass. Many have assumed worse like blood. If it’s only glass that might be why OSBI are hoping they are still alive.

I can see a situation where someone blocks the road or forces the ladies off the side of the road with a pickup. Using common sense they refused to unlock the doors so the perp(s) smashed the glass get to them or threaten them with a firearm, and then abduct them.

Added: pre-dug graves are probably likely but I think it’s easier to move people when they can walk instead of dealing with dead weight.

For someone really evil or high as a kite who wants to extract retribution, what could be more cruel than telling people to jump into their grave and then execute them.

There was a problem with her brother, who was not allowed to be present when the children were present, but he somehow was there at one point with the kids. Apparently prior to that, VB
had sole custody and the dad had visitation rights.
