“I agree with the government, if he’s released and goes back to his ranch that will be the last the court will see of him,” Stewart said.

Salem-based attorney Noel Grefenson represented Bundy, and said he would appeal the judge’s decision.

Grefenson asked why it’s taken the U.S. Attorney’s office so long to bring charges against Bundy.

“The government is saying he’s a danger and a lawless man,” Grefenson said. “And yet, over the last 22 months, Nevada has done nothing.”

Didn't he read the court files? They explain the difficulty of investigating a crime and establishing a case when the defendants threaten you with guns and refuse access to the crime scene.

@blu109 yes Cliven Bundy provided court w/ financial affidavit ( which is sealed) and then magistrate judge allowed a court-appted attorney

Its probably something to do with the same reason why I can't get a YouTube video to show up here when using my iPad, but it works fine using my desktop.

Or, if I try to do one those links with only the title showing. It used to work for me all the time quite nicely and then one day, all of a sudden, if I do it using my iPad, it crashes me out of posting and puts me at page one of the thread (or something like that).

The vBulletin software used to work really well. I think someone has messed with it.

It was Oregon State Police that shot Finicum and not the feds so the protest in Tucson really really doesn't make sense. But these whacks don't either.

The fb link for the event is getting a big response from the locals. This Roy Warden character has a history in Tucson and it's not a good one.

A Nevada rancher will return to court Tuesday to seek his release from jail in Oregon, where he went to support the armed occupation of a national wildlife preserve led by his sons.

A federal judge was expected to decide at a detention hearing whether Cliven Bundy can go home as he awaits trial. Prosecutors said last week that he should stay behind bars because they do not expect him to show up for future court dates.

Bundy, 69, was arrested in Portland last week on charges stemming from a 2014 armed standoff that forced federal officials to release cattle being rounded up near his Nevada ranch.

A criminal complaint accuses Bundy of unlawfully directing more than 200 followers to stop federal agents and contract cowboys who were trying to enforce a court order to round up about 400 Bundy cattle.

Federal authorities have said Bundy owes more than $1 million in fees and penalties for letting cows graze illegally for decades on public land near his ranch.

It's unclear who will represent Bundy. He asked for a court-appointed attorney at an initial hearing last week, but U.S. Magistrate Judge Janice Stewart said she wanted to see financial documents first.​
