WARNING GRAPHIC

I am talking to my husband, who is a nurse, and he is saying the "white and red matter on the windshield, and the clumps of hair found around the vehicle" point to a gunshot to the head.

Wow, I'm sickened by the new details. I feel so sad that she had to endure all of this. To think he was in their apartment! Ugh

that was my immediate conclusion too :(

That makes sense. I didn't connect that with clumps of hair but i did the "matter" on the windshield likely being from a head shot.

New info
According to the search warrant affidavit, they found the following things:WARNING GRAPHIC

The front passenger window was missing and there was glass on the inside and outside running boards
There was a light dusting of dry, dirty mist over the exterior
All four tires had “copious amounts of dried and evergreen needles stuck to them”
The inside of the windshield had some unknown clear and red and white-matter clumps stuck to it
Several red spots that were “consistent with the color of blood” were found inside the car
Detectives found clumps of long hair in several places
Detective “observed a large wet stained area in the middle of the floorboards partially under the front part of the rear seat.” The substance was red and looked like blood that had pooled. Some areas were darker, which is “consistent with coagulated blood.”

First shot fired inside the SUV?
so sad...poor Whitney :(

*sigh* that poor dear girl...... This just gets sadder with every new piece of information.

So it seems a head shot. Yet that was not enough. Still had to keep shooting :furious: Angry because she didn't respond with the same Love (obsession) he held for her. I wonder what else may have been missing from their Apt. other than her phone. I shudder to think. MOO

I realize it wasn't a statement of fact...I just wanted to know where it came from...why was it thought about. And most of us didn't get started here in the beginning.

First off welcome to WS! You're doing great 'learning the ropes' so to speak.

I hope this isn't a repeat but I definitely remember "abuse of a corpse" being mentioned early on. A few of us, myself included, were thinking necrophelia or something. IIRC (If I Recall Correctly) "abuse of a corpse" could be something as small as moving her body from one place to another or taking clothing off of her after she died. It didn't necessarily mean anything particularly sinister... or well, not any more sinister than the horrible crime that preceded the "abuse."

I hope I'm not mixing this up with Jessica Ridgeway's case, but I don't think so because I remember reading it before Jessica's alleged killer was found and arrested. If someone hasn't already, I'll see if I can find the previous posts on it.

BBM
Or possibly angry because he saw her as the "cause" of his obsession.

yes perfectly awful!!! must be a delay to twitter removing this tweeter, maybe the more people flag them the faster they will disappear

Yes, I flagged about half an hour ago but am guessing it takes a number of people flagging to get their attention. (It's a 'flag and block' option.) Keep after it.

I think questions need to start being asked about why this increase in attempted rapes, rapes and murders of woman and children to cover up being raped......and quite a few by seemingly normal guys............why are they not being able to control these urges...........I will put one thing out there and I know a lot will disagree...is it the easy access to *advertiser censored* on the internet?????? there has always been *advertiser censored* in magazines and of course films, but is it because ALL types of *advertiser censored* can be viewed on line and accessible now to everyone?? personally I think it plays a part.

So...I always thought that it was found at WalMart in Wood Village...but KATU reports it wasn't...:

"One of Whitney’s friends was the first person to find her Ford Explorer at a Shell gas station in Troutdale in the afternoon of the day she disappeared."

ooooohhh..latest tweet states that a bloody tooth was recovered in WH's SUV
:(

Oh yuck. :( I wonder if this is related to what some of us were thinking might've happened, that maybe she "bit down" (intentionally or not) during the sex act he forced her to do and then he flipped out and shot her.

After reading some of the other awful details it sounds like maybe not though. Sounds more like she was shot in the head. Since we know she's already gone and can't come back, all I can think is I hope that was the FIRST shot and the rest were after she was no longer alive and hopefully not in pain.

The clumps of hair - it's hard to tell how close they were to the vehicle. Did she maybe try to run and he then grabbed her by the hair?

Her poor family. :(

Wow that's weird. I've always read/heard it was a friend who found it, at Walmart.

I think it was a shot to the head(that created all the evidence). Hopefully she didn't suffer the other shots. Its just so sickening...
The more details come out, the more disheartening this case becomes imo

you know i was thinking...from all accounts WH seems like such a charismatic and persuasive person...i wonder if she almost talked him out of it. Everyone is wondering what happened in those two hours between her abduction and her death....maybe she almost made it out alive :(

I think the evidence is there. Naturally. From forensic to his own confession. LE knows far more than we do. I'm sure they are matching it all up to move this case forward. That's just my opinion tho. I'm sure in those interviews he knew he was busted. Some admit and some dont. Why i will never know. Wish i did. I might win the Nobel Peace Prize :seeya:

:) Fair enough. I have a hypervigilant hinky-meter, I'll admit. I think there's an abundance of 'evidence.' I'm just not sure it tells the whole story, yet.

I agree. There is a whole lot more to this story. Seems a little more dribbles out each day. I think that LE really connected with the family and seems to have circled the wagons in a sense (trying to protect their privacy etc)
However I really believe this case is a combination of extra conscientious searchers that were highly motivated and organized and a super sloppy, inexperienced and perhaps mentally ill perp. The combo alone would account for the fast timeline of evidence collection, confession and retrieval of WH's body. imo of course...

Oh no - this thought just came to me, I wonder if her poor friend saw the "evidence" in the car that's now being released. That would be so traumatic.

The affidavit linked in the article above says they did find her SUV at Walmart. It also says she had been nervous about some precancerous indicators they found at a doctor's appointment. Poor Whitney.
