No idea, just that mwilliamsthomas said on June 9th(on his twitter feed) that he was just edit finishing the documentary which I'm guessing, if you're correct that it was done awhile ago, involved changing something in it before its release...

May 16th this year was the date I read. Looked fit and strong in the photo. What a fake he was in court.

It should not be relevant to sentencing. He is allowed his legs in prison.

What they're after is a sentence based on her CH verdict which has been overturned by the SCA.

Disgraceful.

We all know it shouldn't but I think Masipa is a bit of a sucker for a sob story or she would have given him Murder 1 originally. Lawyer Curlewis has been commenting that it would play well for a reduction in the sentence. I hope not (he has been known to get it wrong), but this little toe rag got away with murder with the help of Masipa. Thankfully the SCA thought differently and at least he is now a categorised as a murderer.

According to this article, dated way back in Sept 2014, it would seem this "interview" has been in the works for much longer(almost three years now).

"Over the past year I have got to know Oscar and his family quite well. I have travelled to South Africa a number of times and am, to date, the only journalist in the world to have spoken to Oscar directly about what happened in the early hours of the 14th February 2013 and everything that has happened since."

Yes Val, it seems to have been a relationship they have been cultivating for 3 years. MWT & Pistorius family.

BIB Yes, he had to look as if he was in need of immediate hospitalisation !
TBH prior to this hearing I was expecting him to be brought into court in a wheelchair, pushed by a nurse for the melodrama and it wasn't far off, in essence.

As for that interview the SA news channel says it will still be aired on 24th, regardless. That's very odd.

A scathing article from the UK's Telegraph about Pistorius playing the victim yesterday. Worth a read.

Some highlights from the author, needs quoting

....the self-pity party being thrown by querulous criminals who feel prison isn’t fair, because they are the real victims.

.....craven sympathy-seeker Oscar Pistorius.

It was pathetic, but for all the wrong reasons...

He has bleated about the hardships of jail, and his lawyers have brought in a psychologist to plead that he is “too depressed” to return to prison and ought to be in hospital instead.
And yet he claims, insultingly, to be “traumatised by the sound of gunfire”. What next? The Yorkshire Ripper complaining about stabbing-related wrist injuries? Jihadis suing for hurt feelings? It beggars believe that one of Pistorius’ legal team had the temerity – the venality – to even stand up and say something so crass aloud...

...his manipulative courtroom transition from pitiless killer to pitiful cripple will, I sincerely hope, do him more harm than good.
.....cringeworthy grandstanding, like Pistorius.

Yes he has been in touch for some years. I think the date I mentioned was the day the filming took place in SA. I will see if I can find it.

MWT is not a journalist's arse

He earns a living making crime content for UK broadcast.

His big break was the Saville thing.

This is his serious coverage of the evidence

When I was in the police, we would regularly gets reports of the sound of a woman screaming which would nearly always turn out to be a fox.

From Mr. Jitty's post:

I am surprised Roux did not present that theory in court.

Disgraceful.

This is the interview with Advocate Llewellyn Curlewis where, at 3 minutes, he talks about Roux doing a good job by displaying OP, ie that it would be effective. My words, not his.

We all think it was disgusting but he is a lawyer and thinks it was worthwhile. I hope he is very wrong.

Great article! And to add to cotton's highlights from the author, I particularly like this one: "Pistorius has proved to be a weak, weepy, selfish creature."

That exaggerated hobbling round in court proves how desperate he is to avoid paying for his crime. If that's not lack of remorse, I don't know what is.

I still don't think it's relevant to sentencing considering he has already done some prison time and managed fine mobility wise. They won't remove his prosthesis from him so I think it's a moot point. Any mobility issues were more appropriate for use in the trail not sentencing perhaps. There was no claim that his mobility had worsened from imprisonment so I don't see how it would be compelling enough to reduce the sentence. Masipa may not agree of course.

What she decides as regards the claim that his mental condition has worsened might be a more appropriate tool to use to reduce his sentence if she intends to do that whether we agree with it or not.

Lawyers are just like us, they can be poles apart in their opinions.

I know, it's beyond satire. Truly a sickness of the soul, blinded by self preservation they failed to see what is obvious to any right minded person. Even Masipa must surely see this for the desperate stunt it was.

This is his serious coverage of the evidence

I'd like to ask the buffoon just how many incidents he attended where, by pure coincidence, there just happened to be a dead woman killed with four black talon rounds, where only minutes before a fox had been outside screaming?

He's a parasite, sucking on the teat of Pistorius' infamy and Reeva's suffering.

Curlewis thought Masipa's Culpable Homicide verdict was right, so his track record ain't so great. You shouldn't worry too much.

I had a proper look at the pity walk, ( I'd only seen a news site clip before now) , and it's quite interesting looking at it "frame by frame". I wonder what other posters think,

it's 2hrs 29mins til 2.33 here on the video, if anyone can bear to see it again.

I am reminded of associations, intended?, with Christ's walk to the cross and his humiliations en route.

But more than that I am reminded of a poor actor following stage directions but pretending he hasn't rehearsed it many times already. So, Oscar makes some mistakes IMO, he is actually "waiting for his lines" before his cues are given!

...i go along with that...the bit about Christ etc......i find it hard to believe he was allowed to do that as it has no interest whatsover with the sentence it's all been seen and done before......
