Sleep well, Sherman.

No existing Doe or MisPer threads for Sherman on Websleuths.

Just ran across this news story:

"Unfortunately, I had to bury my father and my mom without them ever finding resolution," Walker said. "As a 12-year-old this affected me, and really for 45 years of my life, silent anger, rage, not knowing who did this."

That is, until forensic genetic genealogy DNA testing at a company called Othram led investigators to Glen McCurley, who ended up confessing decades after the crime.

Sen. John Cornyn (R-Texas) will be introducing the Carla Walker Act in Congress. It's a bill that would help solve cold cases by creating federal funding for agencies to use the advanced technology.

Cornyn says he's confident the bill will pass.
"We want to make sure that law enforcement from the local level to the national level have access to the very latest and greatest technology," Cornyn said.

Walker says he hopes others will benefit from it.

"There's so many Carla Walker families, so many Carla Walkers out there that are quietly crying for justice, for resolution, for some answers," he said.

@othram, may all the good that you put in this world come back to you tenfold.

This case was not in NamUs and it is probably not in Websleuths, but here is another case announcement before the weekend:

Excited to share that Othram was able to assist the Sonoma County Sheriff's Office and the California Department of Justice in identifying Joshua Daniel Fritz. This case was funded through the Roads to Justice (RTJ) program.

New case announced!

Othram was able to assist the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation in identifying homicide victim James Keith Nuchols of Blount County, Tennessee. He was found 38 years ago and identified now, through the TBI Unidentified Human Remains Initiative.

New case solve:

Remarkably, Othram helped identify the victim and this lead almost immediately to the identification and arrest of the suspect in his murder.

Yesterday, we announced a case solve with PSP and Perry County DA's office. Today, we ask that you help us complete funding for another case with the same agencies. This case was not lucky enough to have full funding support but it involves a murdered young girl, found in 1979, that has yet to be identified. Please share with your friends and colleagues. As a perk, we will send Othram pins to anyone that contributes $25 or more to this case, starting today.

Done.

Respectfully Snipped from your link, and Bolded By Me:

Analysis of her hair indicated that she might have visited the Southwest United States in the months prior to her death, while analysis of her teeth suggested that she likely grew up in the Great Lakes region, possibly in Southern Canada.
…..

Are you all having decent luck with identifying those who were from outside the United States?
