If I see a Chinese female teen with an older guy thats not Chinese;

My hinky meter hits high alert. Lol.

So I wonder what story are these 2 feeding people in order to not look suspicious?

Police plead with A. Y. to return home to Allentown after fleeing to Mexico with man

The news conference comes a day after Mexican authorities issued an Amber Alert saying Y., a 16-year-old Allentown girl, and Kevin Esterly, a 45-year-old married man, may be traveling through Mexico.
At the news conference, police say Y. never boarded the bus to her charter school when she was reported missing March 5. Allentown police Capt. Bill Lake said Y. and Esterly bought one-way tickets from Philadelphia to Dallas and from there, went to Cancun.
Authorities did not take questions, but said they hoped the media could get a message to A. to tell her how to get back home safely.
“A., if you are uncertain about how to come home, I encourage you to go to a law enforcement officer in Mexico,” Lake said. He said A.’s family is worried about her safety and want her to return home.
Lake also asked A. to contact her mother via text or other social media.

I predict that a few FBI agents will be going on a nice vacation.

KE - you can run, but you can't hide.

Bet some of them will be Hispanic, and others will be naive tourists.

Wonder if Esterly is still following updates..... no beach chairs and pina coladas for you, you creep.

Missing girl, 16, may have flown to Cancun with 45-year-old man: Police

A missing 16-year-old girl from Pennsylvania is believed to have flown to Cancun, Mexico, with a 45-year-old man around the time her mother was reporting her missing, police said.

Kevin Esterly and A. Y., 16, have been missing since March 5, and police believe the teen left with the man willingly.

When Y. did not return home from school that night, her mother reported her missing, the Allentown Police Department said today.

Two days later, police received information indicating that the night of March 5 Y. and Esterly took one-way flights from the Philadelphia International airport to Cancun, connecting through the Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport, police said.

Cancun caters to tourists. Many in the tourist industry there speaks English.

Certainly. But how long can they stay there now that the Amber Alert is out?

I wonder why the delay in finding out about the Cancun flight? Or has LE known a while and just didn't release it until now? I would think they would want to get notification to Mexican authorities as soon as possible.

I've been holding back on this one since it's not related to finding them, but it took until 6:30 PM for the mom to know that AY was missing and report it? or how clueless was the school that they did not notify the parent that the child did not show up for school. When mine were in school you had to call the school if the child was not going to be in that day (or several if sick). Attendance was taken in homeroom and all absenses noted then sent to the school office for follow-up. Phone calls made to the home if a student was out and no call notification that they were to be excused. No exceptions. I once forgot by to call for mine and received a follow-up call by 10:00 AM that day. I guess the school protocols are very lax. You would think that a girl with known attendance and behavior problems would raise some red flags.

Police refuse to answer if she had her own or her mother's passport.

Were they specifically asked whether the passport was her or her mother’s and they refused to answer, or did they just not answer any questions at all.

I really don’t understand why people are speculating that she is using her mother’s passport. There have been multiple articles that state that she took “personal documents” from her home. That would indicate to me that they were her documents. I also find it somewhat ludicrous to think that she, at 16 years old, could pass as her mother not just once, but multiple times in which her ID would be checked. IMO, there’s no way that could happen.

It appears they knew two days after her mother reported Amy missing, according to the link posted by Gardener above.

Since LE has known for about a week, I suspect they are long gone from Cancun.

I'll bet you lunch that they knew about the Cancun flight shortly after they found out about the Dallas flight.

That is a very good point. This school knew there was the problem with her being improperly signed out and knew of the situation with KE. You would think when she was absent without a call from the Mom that they should have been on the phone pretty quickly. My son's school is the same as yours; if you havent called in to report him absent, they usually will call me by about 10 am to see whats up. I have forgotten to call him in sick a time or two.

They said in the press conference they did not release details (and will not release any more details) because they know A. and Esterly are monitoring the news and social media. In other words, LE don't want them to know what is known about their movements.

Good point that the school should have notified mom when she didn't show up.

From the presser, I find it interesting that A. was reported missing as a runaway but Esterly was reported as "missing, endangered" by a family member (and police would not name the family member at the presser). It should have been immediately obvious they might be together but I think neither family expected this, despite all the red flags. When A. was missing the first reaction was to think she ran away. When Esterly was missing they think he is endangered-- did they think he might be suicidal? What communications did he leave his family that might hint he was in danger?

They are close to going to other countries too, Belize, Guatamala, Cuba. Hope they have authorities on the lookout there.
I hope they left info on their computers of their travel plans.

Anyone know, if they did searches of destinations on the browsers on their phones, can LE get that info?

I agree & I don't see why it matters either way anyway at this point

From Cancun they could hop a flight to anywhere; Belize, Costa Rica, etc. Then they start to become difficult to find. I really hope they just stayed in Cancun area and are holed up in a cheap hotel.

My children attend this school. I can assure you that calls are made to parents alerting them of their child’s absence by 9:30. Remember that there is a language barrier here, and maybe her mother can’t understand the automated calls. Also, I’m sure many teenagers are depended on to translate documents sent home to non English speaking parents. I am positive this is how AY was able to add KE as her stepdad, and I’m pretty sure at 16, I was easily able to forge my mom’s signature.

LE could probably track the subsequent flights as well. Right? I don't know much about air traffic international policies, but I would think there must be a record of some sort.
