Please join WolfPack SAR Saturday, November 7, 2015 at 5:00PM, as we help raise awareness and Leave Your Light On For Amanda De Guio.

Turn on a porch light or light a candle and help spread the word about her disappearance.

I was reading another similar case of Nicole Procell from Bensalem. It reminds me of Amanda.

It is amazing the power that drugs has on people. This case has me puzzled. If something tragic happened, you would think they would have found Amanda. And if not, I could never understand how anyone could leave those 2 sweet girls.

These questions are for chefotheruler, or anyone else who might know the answers.

First, I can't imagine how horrible this must be for yourself, and Amanda's loved ones. I lost a very dear friend from havertown to an overdose and the pain from that still rips me apart, I could not imagine facing the unknown of a disappearance like this with limited help from the media. Just got caught up on this thread. I despise the stigma associated with substance abuse and really wish this was given more media attention. I do know that when I still had my Facebook activated, many of my friends posted her picture and reminders. I really hope they looked carefully at her phone. I'm going to guess they did and found no leads. Do you know if the CID for delco is involved or just upper Darby PD?

As you have previously said, i highly doubt she is hiding somewhere in delco. Everyone knows everyone in this county. Are the police in the 24th district of Philadelphia (where k&a is) aware or on the lookout? Do they have her missing persons poster? My good friend is an officer in the 22nd district, which is north Philly but she lives in the upper northeast so I could ask her to make a phone call or drop by if you need assistance. Also, Camden and southwest philly.

Someone mentioned something about bikers up thread. Is this the alleged biker group in Drexel hill back by bridge street?

I hope Chitwood discussed privately with the family the reasoning for him to make a statement suspecting foul play.

I asked my husband about the likelihood of someone disappearing under these circumstances and still being alive in the general Philly area without being found, and he said that it is possible under the right circumstances (cop until he was injured on duty so that's his cop opinion on the possibility), especially in an area like k&a. I just can't get past the fact that she left her daughters.

Also, this might have been answered but my iPad won't let me go back and check without losing the post. Do you know if they checked the John Heinz wildlife refuge at all?

Sorry for all the questions I'm just trying to get caught up. A good, up to date investigative piece in the inquirer would be nice. They have had multiple special reports on substance abuse recently, and I know it's not definitely linked, nor am I trying to say whatever happened was her fault, but it might be a way to get them to feature her story in an in depth, thorough, up to date article.

Just some thoughts, sorry for the long post.

As far as I know, there are no new developments, the search continues. I pray for her every day, and when I have time I hit the streets to look, it's sad, she isn't the only one missing out there.

There has been a supposed sighting of her by the Huntington Station of the Market Frankford Line. (El train.). I don't have any more details yet, but I will post if I have them.

This is the season for miracles so good luck and update if you can. While not knowing where she is must be horrific - knowing she can still be out there unharmed is hopeful. How are her girls? I sometimes see news references throughout the year and often wonder how they are doing. Mom should be with her children this time of year so I hope someone can connect with her and get the help she needs. Be safe.

Interesting.

While I am not real familiar with the area lately, I have taken the EL from Olde City down to the Somerset stop in my past, to work on one of the clients of a former employer near Lehigh Ave and Frankford. That is a very residential, tough area, with a few small companies down towards the highway. Somerset is the next stop after Huntington, so I see.

I would love to know who might have spotted Amanda. Is there a community effort to find her? Do the stores have her picture posted?

Grisly find: Hiker discovers skeletal remains in Ridley Creek State Park

Pennsylvania State Police at Media barracks said they are investigating the remains that they think belong to a woman. However, because of the age of the remains, they are unable to determine any other identifying characteristics of the person at this time.

Could also be Nicole Procell - I'll post the link on her thread as well.

ETA: N/M, I forgot that a PI reported in Nicole's thread that she had been found safe.

Oh no. This is so not what I was expecting. It's sad cause then she's not coming home. It's a relief cause then her girls can go somewhere to be with their mom. Can't imagine how devastating this can be to her family.

Grisly find: Hiker discovers skeletal remains in Ridley Creek State Park

Joanne De Guio received a call from the Pennsylvania State Police asking for information on her child. “The remains could very well be Amanda De Guio,” police Superintendent Michael Chitwood said. “Her body could have been there since 2014.” According to Chitwood, Lt. William Kane is the lead investigator on the De Guio case.

Wow, in a heavily wooded area like that, I imagine you could go missing for over a year. Lets see what the autopsy shows before we draw any conclusions.

More details, but no confirmation on identity yet of the remains found on New Years day.

"The woman was about 5-foot-3, authorities said in new details released Monday afternoon, with a slender build, "prominent teeth," and either light brown or blonde hair. She was believed to have worn a size 9 shoe. The remains were found by someone walking in a wooded area just off the main trail of the popular Delaware County park.

Addressing widespread speculation that they were those of Amanda De Guio, a Drexel Hill woman who has been missing since June 2014, State Police Trooper John O'Donnell said Monday that investigators still were considering "all possibilities."

"We have no confirmation it's her," O'Donnell said. "We can't exclude her and we can't confirm it is her."
