Did you know that Victims that have drowned in 30-40 degree water will not surface until water warms. Usually 20 days ...

I read something about that after a previous drowning victim surfaced during warm weather. It's been unusually warm here this week, and tomorrow it will be in the mid-70s. It might be time for another river walk this weekend. The last time I did that, it was 17 degrees and crazy icy. What a difference two weeks makes.

In regards to the Yelp "hoax" today, what fools! Unless these people, as mentioned in a previous post, are super smart hackers (which I highly doubt) they can be tracked down quickly. Assuming LE makes takes the initiative.

As a certain podcast I listen to says "The worst monsters are real."

Central Pennsylvania

It did take quite some time for Paul Kochu and Jimmy Slack to surface. Kochu was about 3 months and Slack I think was 4 weeks. Another man, Andre Gray, was found about 5 months after he disappeared in what was a homicide.

I don't believe that all of these guys are going down to the river to go to the bathroom and falling in....come on....something is not right here in Pittsburgh. I am going to start warning people about going to concerts etc...

Agreed. I myself do believe it's foul play, I'm not sold that its a serial killer though.

I'm wondering if the individual(s) who perpetrated the hoax actually are involved in DJ's disappearance and are toying with LE. It's a bit far-fetched but not impossible.

Authorities were responding Thursday night to a report of a body found in McKeesport, Allegheny County...

MCKEESPORT, Pa. —
Sources tell Pittsburgh's Action News 4 a human skull and bones have been discovered in a trash can near a wooded area in McKeesport. I hope it's not him...

The skeletal remains were found in this location in McKeesport, Washinton Street:

sigh
how long is "some time" i wonder.

Maybe something was done to the body to accelerate decay and hinder identification..It could of been burned or limed etc.

Thank you I loved her...she was tortured you can't imagine her death. The trial was just over.

(((Very recent. Sad.))) I hope she can rest in peace and the one who did it is locked up for life...or even death.

You now have an angel watching over you!

Officials say identifying the body could take some time.

For reference, McKeesport is *upstream* from downtown Pittsburgh and is situated along the *Monongahela River*. The location is ~11 miles *as the crow flies* from where DJ was last seen on video.

It seems the skeletal remains have been there for "some time" and identifying the individual also will take "some time".

I do not expect the remains to be identified as DJ.

That is a terrible thing for someone to do, especially to this family who has been through so much. It's so unbelievable that it's actually kind of believable. What if it was true and he had the wrong address?

My initial thought is....How would he even know the address of the place he was at? If you just gained internet access - why not email your family or access FB and put something up. Seems like it would be more direct. Also, how would you know what restaurants have the option to type in such a message also? Also why bank on the fact that they'd even still be open to place orders at 10:59. For these reasons I could see that it's a hoax...a terrible heartless one. And obviously everything is worth looking into. That being said, I don't remember the address listed on the note, but from what I remember it was an awfully odd address like 822 something; not one pulled at random figuring it would work bc every city has one (ex. 123 4th St.). That would make me think whoever did the hoax has some sort of familiarity with that house.

He might know the address if they are taking him in and out of that house. But it's a good point, as are your other ones. For example, you're right in questioning why he would go to a Yelp app when he could send email if he has access to the internet. (I mean it could be that whatever computer he accessed had that app loaded and the password cached. But as I type this I guess you can submit such requests without an account.)

Do houses in that area even have basements? I guess information like that is one way that the police can determine that it was a hoax.

All that said, I think I might not have released this information and might have instead watched the house and the houses around it.

BTW, I read a new story this morning that the family issued a statement thanking police for looking into the lead.

The 23-year-old is seen around 11:49 p.m. the night of January 25, 2017, outside the Wood Street T Station in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He was with a co-worker, who can be seen getting into an Uber.
Dakota is then seen walking alone through Katz Plaza in the city's Cultural District. He's on his phone. It's unclear if he then headed to the subway or opted to head home on foot.

 • "11:49 p.m."? ....No!.... That should read: "11:39 p.m." at Wood Street. It was 11:46 p.m. when he is seen on video in Katz Plaza.
 • "On" his phone? ....No!.... That implies he was on a call. That should read: "Using" his phone. He appears to be texting or browsing or gaming.
 • "Unclear if he THEN headed to the subway..."? ....No!.... Given the direction he is shown walking through Katz Plaza it is clear he was not walking toward a T station in downtown.

Sloppy, lazy reporting perpetuates even to national news outlets. But in the general scheme of things, does it really matter? Would current case status be different if all reporting to this point was perfectly accurate and complete (meaning: if the public knew all of what LE knows)?

The answer could be "no" except that DJ's direction of travel, when last shown on video, is important. It does mater that DJ was walking in a assumed-specific direction: and in this case he appeared to be walking away from T stations in downtown and walking toward the general direction of the river and bridges, more specifically the Sixth Street Bridge / Roberto Clemente Bridge.

It seems ever since "news" departments were changed from delivering "news" as a "public service" to becoming "profit centers" for corporate, quality and sometimes integrity have come in to question and at times have proven unreliable. This is not to imply today's news departments have become useless. What it does mean is the almighty dollar comes before all else, even if timeliness and accuracy are directly important to a case: in many cases, the minutes count and the direction of travel matters.

Get them Chucky Mo! It's ridiculous that they cannot report accurate facts.
