Thanks for the links and video !
Perp walk ... what is DC wearing ?
Hospital gown ?

He's not smirking any more.
Omo.
Did you all hear some cheering in this video?
As he was getting into the vehicle.
I’m worried this guy is going to be viewed as a hero by some since he lasted so long on the run -
Probably married within a year

KILLER IN CUFFS: Danelo Cavalcante is now on his way to state prison, where the captured killer will serve out his life sentence, after his 14-day run came to an end Wednesday morning. He is being transferred by armored vehicle and a police escort.

MOO I dont think the media should be shouting ‘any comments Danelo’ to him.
He’s a convicted murderer not a celebrity.

I did hear some faint cheering, but I interpreted it as cheering that he was caught and under arrest, at last.

Yeah, Mama’s little murderer is not smirking anymore.

He claims to have survived on stream water and watermelon. ??? The writing makes it sound like he lived off of it for the entire 2 weeks. I think not. Odd wording. Maybe he's trying to lie about his break-ins where he stole food and thinks LE is dumb enough to believe that he frequented the same farm for sustenance.

From link below:

POTTSTOWN, Pennsylvania (WPVI) -- Danelo Cavalcante received no help after breaking out of the Chester County Prison, and he survived on watermelon and stream water before he was captured on Wednesday, according to investigators.

The escaped prisoner crab-walked up two walls out of the prison on August 31. He was able to find a watermelon patch while on the run for 14 days.

Authorities also say he told law enforcement he was almost stepped on by police at one point during the search. And to avoid detection, Cavalcante covered his own fecal matter along his trail.

CAPTURE UPDATE In handcuffs escaped killer Danelo Cavalcante leaving PA State Police barracks on the way to state prison.

Hero Dog Update: The @CBP confirmed for me the K9 from El Paso who helped take down Danelo Cavalcante is named “Yoda” (not Tucker). The first pic is a day before the capture while working from a residents horse arena. The others are moments after the capture.

I love watching the moment a K9 is unleashed to go after a running suspect on the show OP Live. You can tell by their barking that these dogs are so READY and EAGER to do their job — they are begging, really — and they usually get it done. And as soon as the dog finds and secures the target, the suspect (who was so big and bad seconds earlier) starts crying and screaming and begging officers to call the dog off. It’s a beautiful thing to watch.

Is there bodycam for the capture?

I learned following the Idaho student murders case that LE in PA do not wear bodycams as the suspect (Bryan Kohberger) was apprehended in PA. The defense requested the bodycam footage from the prosecution and prosecution stated there wasn't any because they do not wear them.

That said, I am aware other agencies were involved in DC capture but do not know if they wear cams or not.

I think some local county LE do wear them, but what you may have heard or read pertained to the state police. Apparently there was a pilot program launched in August of this year to test them out for the state police. A google search led me to several articles on the topic.

ETA: For example, Upper Makefield (Bucks County, PA) police wear them:

I’m asking because last night Newsnation showed live footage of the dog with LE. It was an intense scene and one of them said Got him. They got out of the way from the camera and said the dog picked up the scent and that they were excited.

It makes me wonder if they had him then but weren’t ready to make a formal announcement. So I’m curious about the bodycam to see if it was day or evening when they got him.

They were onto his location during the night and had to stop tracking via thermal imaging via the plane due to a storm after midnight, but the dog wasn't involved until around 8am this morning when they captured him after releasing the dog on him. Arrest was about 8:18am EST.
