The family of a woman who died in a botched abortion wants a Philadelphia court to freeze the jailed doctor's assets.

In the latest twist in the legal story of abortionist Kermit Gosnell, accused of eight counts of murder, his defense attorney yesterday agreed to keep in place a court order freezing the assets of Gosnell and his wife, Pearl. Those assets include several properties, among which is a $900,000 Jersey shore house.

Gosnell and his wife initially claimed they were destitute and asked for public defenders. But “[C]ity prosecutors said they found more than a dozen properties, including the shore property in Brigantine,” according to the Philadelphia Inquirer’s Joseph A. Slobodzian.

I hope the "doctors" who enabled this murderer are also held responsible.

Moton and West each pleaded guilty to related charges, including taking part in a corrupt organization. West also pleaded guilty to drug delivery causing death.

West faces up to 140 years in prison but would likely get far less time given that cooperation.

Moton faces up to 120 years in prison.

I sincerely hope both these women do not get out of prison until they are very old. The death and destruction that they've caused is so sickening. Women came there for help, and probably believed that these two were some sort of medical professionals. I get so angry when I read about this story.

Yes, they were infants born as late as eight months, and the murder charges stem from the fact that they could have survived had they been given medical treatment after BIRTH.

This is a tough issue for me, personally. I don't support partial birth or late term abortion, because to me, it is a baby at that point in time. I do however, support a woman's right to choose within the first four to five months of pregnancy. But this was not the first four or five months. These were infants, point blank. If you have to sever their spinal cords to kill them, it's murder, not abortion.

You are so right, this is just disgusting, also on the part of these "mothers"! I fully support a woman's right to abort, but only, imo, during the first trimester, PERIOD. What monster of a woman gives birth to a 7- or 8-month-old baby (not a "fetus" but an infant!!) and willingly lets a "doctor" proceed to MURDER the child??? sick and evil!!:twocents:

This whole story makes me want to vomit. When I think of my precious newborns and how carefully I supported their little heads and necks...and to think of these monsters hacking away at those tiny necks with a pair of scissors to make them die already... :sick:

The other doctors who covered for him should be hiding their heads in shame. I hope they are punished to the maximum extent possible.

Gosnell routinely induced labor in patients in their second and third trimesters rather than perform risky late-term abortions. That sometimes resulted in live births. He and his staffers killed the babies by stabbing their necks with scissors to sever their spinal cords and sometimes suctioning their skulls, too. About a baby writhing as he cut its neck, Gosnell joked to a staffer: "That's what you call a chicken with its head cut off."

This is just horrible. The doctor needs to get the death penalty and his assistants need to be locked up forever. Also, the women who went to him for late term abortions and allowed him to kill their babies should also be charged with murder in my opinion.
