McGill and her husband, Robert, told the Daily News yesterday that Weston lived in a two-story, scuffed white rowhouse on A Street for about five months in 2008. They said that she resided there with Thomas, eight children who she said were hers, two Hispanic girls, a Hispanic boy and Maxine Lee, who was in Weston's charge

Wow...this story gets more horrible every day. Not only the disabled adults, but she might have also been taking children from impoverished families who were hoping to give their children a better life. :furious:

Gregory Thomas's lawyer Perry DeMarco tells us what people here have been talking about. He was a boxer. DeMarco hasn't found out personally from his client, but I am wondering if that could be a defense? His boxing and being hit in the head?

This little girl may have belonged to two of her captives?

As for the young Latino girls I have no doubt in my mind after reading that link above she was tricking out at least one of those girls.

A and Westmoreland is rough. If anyone had followed the strangulation of the women in Kenisington last winter this is basically it. This is Kensington. Prostitution in a car in broad daylight wouldn't be out of the norm. Open air drug sales are on the corners and everybody is just doing their own thing trying to make it another day.

Now if a neighbor had a two year old baby and she asked me to babysit and then later asked if I wanted to adopt the child uhhhhhhh alarm bells? I am in no way faulting Ms. McGill. I get it. There are places in this world that things happen in that we'd just shake our heads in disbelief, but for other people it's just an everyday occurance.

Prayers this sweet little doll is O.K. somewhere and they find her. Prayers especially for the young girls and young boy as well. A and Westmoreland area has a very large Hispanic community so I don't doubt anyone wondered who these kids were.

I'm wondering if the child who was 2 in 2008 is the 5 year old child recovered from the home. Also, in regards to the Hispanic girls, wasn't there already an article about at least one Hispanic teen girl found with them who was supposed to be the boyfriend of one of the people in the home?

These may not be victims that are "new" to this case, but additional details about previously reported victims.

The teen girl that was recovered from Florida, had just disappeared a few months ago. So no, I don't believe she's any of those spotted in 2008.

You may be right of the 2 yo, now may be the 5 yo. They didn't indicate what race they were.

I'm actually surprised more people haven't come out that recognize this group.

Robert has tried to coax from his brother why he didn't run away to escape the abuse. "He was scared to leave them," Robert explained. "My brother didn't have to be there. But Tamara is his girlfriend. And he considers Herbert and Derwin like his family. He knew they'd die if he left."

Heartbreaking. They were just so vulnerable. I hope the rest of their lives are peaceful.

OMGosh!
What a great article. It truly made me cry. That poor guy and Tamara. I hope those are their children and they get to be reunited as a family. I realize the mom and dad are both handicapped, but with the help of their families, they should be able to make a place for themselves.

At least some of this story seems it will have a happy ending. There were people who loved these captives. No one knew what was going on and I hope this is a lesson for the LE community and the agencies that over-see these situations, will be more vigilante and find ways to improve the system. This should NEVER have happened.

Makes you wonder, how many others are out there in this same type of situation. :(

Ronnie Polaneczky: Woman offers slice of kindness for cellar victim

JODI MALLON called with a strange request. She needed to find out where the rescued men and women of the Tacony house of horrors were staying. Because she wanted, badly, to bake a cake for victim Derwin McLemire.

Like anyone with a working heart, Mallon had recoiled at reports of the torment that mentally disabled adults and children endured at the hands of monsters allegedly ring-led by Linda Ann Weston. The breadth of the sadism left Mallon, a sales assistant at Dietz & Watson, too numb to cry.

Until she saw McLemire interviewed on TV. He had moved into Weston's Florida home a year ago, and he described a life of hell. He'd been beaten, locked in a closet. And he'd been left to heal on his own after a dog - one of Weston's, he said - chewed off half his ear

This is really messed up. This victim by the last name of Torrance, from Philadelphia, lived with McIntosh in Killeen, Texas. They then moved in with Linda Weston and her brewed of horror. When Torrance discovered the people in the attic, she was then locked up too!

Torrance managed to escape and went to the police station in Killeen. Guess what? They went to the house, didn't see anything wrong and said there was nothing they could do!

OMGosh! Unbelieveable! No wonder everyone was afraid of Weston and her evil group of demons. She was ALLOWED by LE and everyone else, to get away with it! :banghead:

Unreal!

Woman: She and others held captive in Texas by horror queen

Shuttered for two weeks in a bathroom closet in Killeen, Texas, Torrence says, she saw Weston's other captives - Weston's niece, Beatrice; Tamara Breeden and Edwin Sanabria - in an attic above the closet.

There was no ladder to get to the attic, but she saw the three and could talk to them, she said. "Piggy," she said - referring to Beatrice - and Breeden had cigarette burns on their faces; their tongues were burned by a spoon. She said Breeden "had no hair," it had been shaved off. And one of her legs had been stabbed.

Torrence had been friends with Weston's daughter, whom she knew as Jean McIntosh. They had met through McIntosh's father's side of the family in 1998 in Philadelphia, where Torrence grew up. In August 2009, Torrence, who said she had nothing to keep her in Philly, went to live with McIntosh in Killeen.

Relief: Mystery tot dubbed 'Little L' safe

"LITTLE L," the mystery girl whom Linda Ann Weston gave to neighbors to adopt before Weston's daughter whisked the child away in 2008, is safe and in protective custody.

Little L, now 5, is believed to be the daughter of Tamara Breeden, one of four people found enslaved and barely fed in a sub-basement dungeon in a Tacony apartment building, according to Lt. Ray Evers.

Police are conducting DNA tests to verify that Breeden, 29, is her mother.

"I am so relieved she's OK. That makes me feel so much better," said Chevelle McGill, of Kensington, who took care of Little L for a few months after Weston, who was a neighbor, told her she could adopt her.

Lawyers: Alleged lead Phila. kidnapper Linda Weston doesn't understand seriousness of charges

(CBS/KYW/AP) PHILADELPHIA - Linda Ann Weston, the suspected ringleader of an alleged Social Security fraud scheme in which police say mentally disabled people were held captive in a basement, may not completely understand the seriousness of the charges against her, her lawyers said Monday.

He also says he has concerns about her mental health, reports CBS affiliate KYW.

LE had a victim report a kidnapping. And they verified the address and the people the victim said kidnapped her. And they did nothing! Nothing! Evidently the story that Weston and McIntosh are telling is that McIntosh and the victim had a falling out. And LE evidently bought it.

Now the attorney is saying that Weston doesn't have the capacity to understand. I call bull. She is capable of understanding, because she is able to come up with lies that fit the circumstances to help get her out of trouble. And IMO this alleged "not understanding" is just one more lie to fit the circumstances to help get her out of trouble.

The woman is a predator who preys on disabled individuals and children. She may not do it for sexual reasons, but she does do it for exploitive reasons. She wants to make money off them. And when caught she will run, or if she can't run she will use any lie she thinks can make things better for her.

I hope they don't offer this women bail!

And I hope they jumped on it quickly and got all the SS benefits stopped!

Weston's lawyer: she needs competency evaluation

PHILADELPHIA— "If I can't have an intelligent conversation with her about everything leading up to her arrest, then she's entitled to a competency evaluation," says George Yacoubain, Linda Weston's lawyer.

He may have a few screws missing, but he's fine....per his lawyer:

The attorney for Gregory Thomas, Perry DeMarco Jr., said he was ready to defend Thomas and he had spoken at length with his client.
“I was ready to proceed today to confront these allegations,” DeMarco said.
DeMarco said he didn’t see competency as being an issue for his client.

She's used to getting her way, torturing and destroying people, and now she's stuck in the slammer. That's why she's depressed. Simple as that.
