Not to say anything bad about JSS here, I'm talking styles.
Can you imagine if what the DT has done today was done in front of Judge Belvin Perry? Maybe I am wrong, I did not watch every single day of the CA trial but I watched some of it and man, did he go off in a spectacular way when the defense tried pulling delays. No bones about it, he let it be known the court was not going to put up with any of it, they had enough time, the tax payers had paid enough for them to accomplish what they needed to accomplish (investigate a piece of evidence) and there was a line drawn in the sand.

There is not many lines drawn in the sand in this trial. MOO but maybe if there was early on we would not be as delayed as we are. Maybe (IN MY OPINION) the defense would not be throwing a fit and marching off taking their toys with them. I mean a mistrial attempt, throwing any and all witnesses into the can and even attempting to be released right then and there (again)? This is out of control and I just feel maybe a different style of courtroom would pull the reins in.

Steven's little girl was left crying while her daddy had to leave her all over again. The family has another day chopped off getting back to life. The Jury has another day to hang in while trying to isolate themselves so they stay proper for this trial. And here we go... more delays.

It never made sense for them to call PW - and now we know why they did. This ploy was in play as far back as when they added her as a mitigation witness

Her courtroom behavior, along with the zoned out NG appearances and what they knew would come out about her (not to mention they hadnt seen each other in years!) - they knew she would not make a good witness, and IMO knew they never intended for her to testify.

Hmmm, interesting. And Darryl would not testify on camera during the trial, but was willing to do the mitigation part on camera? Yeah, sounds, like he was never going to actually testify, either.

Just a defense tactic.

IMHO I think CMJA wants to have the last word so she can trash Travis without being cross examined, and in that way she can deal a final blow to hurt Travis's family. I think all she wants is to cause as much pain to them as possible. Her need to extract revenge and cause suffering is obsessive and frightening. :moo:

IMO she wants to delay the inevitable. She was going to get on the stand again regardless of who else testified on her behalf. These are stalling techniques. It's not about TA's family (she doesn't think about anyone else). This is for some other reason -- some combo of stalling, game playing, trying to get something for the later appeal, etc.

It's a lie. A ploy. I den't believe she EVER intended to get on the stand. This is the DT angle of attack, and it is desperate.

I hope at some point Arizona legal associations address Nurmi and Willmott for what has clearly been patterns of unprofessional conduct on both of their parts... her with the constant eye rolling and juvenile behavior and him with the mantrums and overall conduct.

It wouldn't be anything specific to the content of this case but I can't imagine their behavior would be acceptable or approved of. Especially since both are Public Defenders I would not want these two representing my office. I hope they are reviewed, disciplined and put through professional training.

Very horrendous indeed since the appellant brief will have to address the question of whether she had the chance to plead mitigation. Will the Court know she was there everyday?

What's so gross to me about Nurmi is he is fighting so hard for some kind of win in this trial all for his future career of defending sex offenders. Hey that's Nurmi, he's the one that got Jodi Arias a new trial! He defends obviously guilty people, so a successful motion for mistrial would give all those future clients hope. That is his bottom line.

I disagree. This is MOO but I think the murderer's family has also moved on to the appeals phase of this case. I bet they have been contacted by lawyers that are ready, willing, and able to file appeals for JA. Today was just another move in the game of chess.

I don't think that death threats had much to do with today. In every highly publicized trial there have been death threats. Yes, they are taken seriously, and they are wrong, but there are those kinds of people out there that just must say those types of things.

I wish Travis's family would decide to not be in court when JACK speaks tomorrow. They shouldn't subject themselves to such torture.

The family already proved, by not taking the ridiculous plea, that they're not afraid of Jodi's words. To not show up would be some sort of victory for Jodi.

I can see the point, don't give the killer an audience, but in this case she needs to see the sneers from her audience.

I'd never give her the power to keep me away, I doubt the A's will either

Even if you disregard Patti, WHY isn't the defense calling anymore witnesses? I doubt everyone JA knows has been threatened. Why aren't they calling her parents? Maybe because they don't want Juan to bring out the police interogation videos??

No mitigation witnesses is JA's decision

JA gets up tomorrow (or next week, month, year - whenever) and tells the jury she wants to die.

In its closing DT claims JA is crazy and incompetent to get death penalty.

That's my take on all this bs.
