Regarding Accuser 4, Amendola said -- Folks what he told you, in the late summer of 1998, he began a close relationship with Mr. Sandusky. Played racquetball with him 2 to 3 times a week. Amendola said -- Here’s the problem…you heard from Dick Anderson, a fellow coach. He said coaches work more than 12 hours a day. How in the world did Jerry Sandusky find time to go play racquetball 2 or 3 times a week and then fool around with him in the shower. It doesn’t make sense.

Just a thought - with this going to the jury soon, and this thread already being as long as it is, maybe it's time for a new one?

Amendola also reminds the jury of testimony from a witness who knew Accuser 4 and said he did not have a truthful reputation.

I "love" the comments about "we have a tarnished institution, a fired University president, and a dead coach". Well a-hole, JS tarnished the reputation, the president is an enabler *advertiser censored* who should have been fired, and the coach died being another enabler. Next agurment, please.

Amendola -- That man’s whole world came to an end on November 5th..but not only his world…(amendola ends mid-thought) Within days of Sandusky getting charges, Joe Paterno was fired, the athletic director charged with perjury….Graham Spanier, the president of the university, is fired. They could’ve arrested him after ( Accuser One came forward) in 2008 if they thought he was such a monster….the reason they waited is because they didn’t have enough to be comfortable.

Amendola also said that two state police corporals who investigated Sandusky "screwed up." He said during the police interrogation when Accuser 4 wasn't telling them everything, they took a break and think they have the recording stopped, but they accidentally kept the recording on…Amendola reads the conversation Corporal Leiter had with Accuser 4’s civil attorney.

Amendola said – The Commonwealth made a “big deal” of the Costas interview (with Sandusky). Jerry decided he wanted to tell the whole world he was innocent. Was he nervous? I’m nervous now talking in front of a hundred people. He didn’t have to talk. He didn’t have to say a word. He knew Costas is a tough interviewer. Amendola compares Costas’ tough questions to McGettigan’s questions.

Amendola then re-reads the Costas excerpt (but with slightly different inflection than how Sandusky answered the questions). Imagine, Bob Costas on the phone, millions of people listening, you’d be nervous. Amendola says Sandusky’s answers were honest. What more could that man say?

Amendola said -- McQueary said he didn’t hear screaming, moaning or groaning from Sandusky or the boy. Use your common sense. Does it make any sense? Is it possible 5 well-respected adults (Dranov, John McQueary, Paterno, Curley, Schultz) said ‘don’t call police’ if Sandusky was really having sex with a boy in the shower? “It doesn’t make sense.”

Amendola (cont): We found out in this trial, lot of these kids knew each other. We know two victims were involved in inapporporiate contact with JS in same time period. Three others, they all knew each other and were involved with Mr. S at same time. Three all knew each other and were involved with JS at same time.
Not one of those people came forward until this case broke. (Alleged victim's name) started this. Months later till anyone else came forward. Of the hundreds of thousands of kids he had contact with, not one said he did something. But in Nov. 2008, because he didn’t want to go with JS because he wanted to go hang with friends.
He told mother, well, Mr. S. fondled men. Not oral or anal sex, fondled me above clothing. Dawn Daniels reaction? Oh, we’re going to make money, I’m going to own JS’s house? Is that the reaction you would expect from someone who just found out child was abused? Would that be your reax as parent?

Joe Amendola – defense closing argument:
Daunting task. How could 8 individuals and others like McQueary all come into court and say they happened if they didn’t happen? Nov. 5 of last year, Sandusky's world came to end. Everything they ever believed in was challenged by a group of young men who came forth andsaid he sexually assaulted them over a period of years. Group of lawyers chased those young men.
Evidence of media contacting mother, saying contact police.
How do you fight them? From 1994 – 2008, these kids say hundreds of times he did this and that to me, and yet, other than a couple of occasions, no direct evidence other than from the mouth of those individuals. Not one piece of hys evidence. Two cases, we don’t even have victims.

During this portion, Dottie Sanusky is leaning forward in her seat. She has a tissue in her hand and is chewing gum. Her eyes look tired and she closes them at times. Sandusky himself has watched Amendola throughout the course of his statements.

System decided JS was guilty and system set out to convict him.

Is it possible what (alleged victim) said, he stayed over JS’s house 200x at same time (another alleged victim) said he stayed over every weekend same exact time. (Alleged victim) said no one else was there.

Dottie Sandusky was in that house constantly. Could all of this sex be going on and Mrs. S not aware, never walking in, never catching something unusual?
Doesn’t add up.
