I am so confused. Isn't this the room he had been registered to for a few days or weeks during his stay? Or was just this a motel-ish stay for him, aka hourly?

Nope a normal hotel room. In his own name. And the 5 year anniversary of the last known murder. Self orchestrated ENDGAME.

Yes, it looks like they're searching sparsely-populated areas, too. It really sounds like he's HIDING, not traveling.

If he were just "jet-setting" as usual, he'd be in a larger city or area where there are resorts and casinos at the very least. JMO

How many nautical miles is it from Chile to New Zealand?

I don't know anything about ocean-going boats, but that seems like a long way to go in a speedboat. Could he have bought his way aboard a larger, slower vessel like a cargo ship or commercial fishing boat?

If ya ask me, Joran seems very conflicted, like he wanted to be caught...begged to be punished...taunting even, with his confessions and constant lies about Natalee's death.

Peruvian prison should knock any "conflict" he has felt right out of him. In Peru they allow the inmates run the prison

I still want to know what he was busy doing the last 4 years, on that date ( or right around) ...and a few years even before Natalee's death.

Its 5362 miles or 4658 nautical miles from Santiago, Chile to the Chatham Islands, New Zealand. So, IF he got a boat it would have to be a serious ocean going vessel.

Wonder how secure the ports are down there - could he sneak into a port yard and get in a container? He would really have to think ahead and take at least water with him to do that.

I don't know why - but it just keep popping into my head - has he gone into the jungle? There are small villages and very remote places out there.

I am no fan of JVS but this whole thing doesn't seem right to me for some reason.

AMSTERDAM - Joran van der Sloot has acknowledged earlier this week by telephone that he is guilty of the murder of 21-year-old Stephany Ramirez Tatiana Flores, last Sunday in a hotel in Peru.

Reported by various sources and the friends of Joran. The suspect now fled to Chile last Tuesday. Van der Sloot would have been in contact with a Dutch poker friend. Joran would have told him that he was with the girl and killed her with a knife.

The reason for the murder of Stephany would have been Joran pathological need for media attention. The girl was stabbed Sunday in Lima and was found murdered in a hotel room. That room was in the name of Joran. Sunday was exactly five years ago in Aruba Natalee Holloway disappeared.

Joran had contact with Jaap Amesz (Terror Jaap) a few weeks ago. At that time he would still have stayed in Venezuela. "Joran was very depressed at that time. He told Jaap he walked around with plans to deprive himself of life," said one insider.

Jaap Amesz would not answer questions about his alleged recent contact with Joran "I want the police investigation not to be jeopardized."

Yes, "the entire island" had no idea he was a sociopath, a liar, rapist and murderer. Huh. I wonder if the Kalpoes will come forward now and tell what they know, or that they and other Arubans who know what happened will continue to cover up in the hope that the story will go away.

I wouldn't go to Aruba if they gave away a free ticket and it was the last place in the world where the sun would shine.

I'm sorry, this is just so funny. I could see him in a little yellow dingy with his little yellow rubber ducky out in the middle of the Pacific Ocean. Serve him right...or the deep jungles of S. America with the Taboo tribes all garbed out. LOL They say the current between the southern tip of SA and Antarctica is most ferocious.

I too had posted the idea of a freighter he could have caught. There is a port in Arica, Chile. If you zoom in on a map you can see it. Containers everywhere.

You know what I would not be surprised if he 'ended it' so to speak Andrew Cunanan style. I mean what's he going to do - live in the jungle? Also a suicide would allow him to maintain control of the situation, and the self delusion that in the end 'he won'.
