If he wanted to rob her and that was his original intent why didn't he just drug her and do it while she was passed out. Or, they have said they took a nap, why didn't he do it then?

well, its a discussion point. how we feel about punishment, justice, retribution, and so on.

but thats all it is.

he has made his own bed, and he is gonna lie in it. whatever it is. one irony certainly is, as someone has pointed out, when his father and whoever else helped him escape justice for Natalie's disappearance, they allowed this descent into hell to happen.

I understand completely but I've seen all across the internet everyone talking about the horrible things headed his way with so much eagerness and desperation, which is fair but in some cases, out of control. People want justice and justice sometimes represents the worst possible pain or situations - I understand and I don't disagree with that idea.

He has made his own bed and the worst is yet to come. Who knows what will happen. As far as rape and torture actually happening, I'm disappointed by the possibility that it might... not that he doesn't deserve it.

If that makes sense. Not trying to be devil's advocate here.

I feel there is a missing link here. What happened that set this boy off like this? This mystery has yet to be answered. I wonder what JVDS told the cops. The story right now is that he planned to rob Stephany. So, why not rob her? Why not wait for her to sleep, steal her money and take off? What transpired during their conversation that caused him to elbow her in the nose? Did he ask her for the money and she said no and then he hit her? That makes no sense. There must have been something that pushed his button so hard (as in when he threw wine at P. Devries) that caused him to lose it? What was it?

I agree about the missing link(s). Did he do this, or just telling another bizarre story that's what someone wants to hear. If he did, what sets him off, etc. Like you say, he could rob her without killing her. I don't think there's any way at this stage that we can know if he has some kind of episodes he can't control (whether blackouts, disoriented episodes, psychotic episodes, flashbacks, or whatever) or if he gets delirious from drugs or lack of sleep or mania and thinks a situation is something that it's not, or if he has some kind of misplaced self-defense reaction to some stimuli due to experiences in his life.....or if he has a panic sort of thing or rage thing when put in certain situations. Or some killers are obsessive compulsive, they have a compulsion to do certain bizarre things. Of course some are schizophrenic and hear voices telling them "Kill so and so before she kills you!"..... No telling. Could be steroids...who knows. Elbowing someone in the nose is kind of unusual isn't it, most of us would probably not think to do that move even to defend ourselves, it seems more like a trained fighting technique, doesn't it, or something someone might do who was used to being jumped on a lot and having to defend themselves. Wonder where he picked that up (if it even happened like that). It seems like it would almost be easier to hit someone in the nose with your elbow by accident than on purpose IMO

Talking about the wijn (I mean wine) in P DeVries face (told you guys I'd been watching too many of those Dutch media clips), and Joran's comments to P DeVries, as well as Joran's comments regarding being interrogated "rudely" in Peru, being treated rudely seems to not sit well with him, that's true.

The wine throwing incident was interesting. Joran is actually polite and well spoken in interviews, maybe he was held to hard standards himself when he was a child and can't handle other people being rude. The challenging way he called PDeVries on his comments in the wine-throwing interview was interesting. When he asked him "When it turns out your accusations against me are wrong, are you going to apologize then, would you be man enough to do that?" And DeVries said "Yes I would" and Joran snapped right back immediately, "I don't think so." The quickness of his response, it was a little charming and funny as well as insulting and dismissive, and also kind of like trying to provoke a fight. Anyway, puzzling. He seems to really dislike rudeness.

I agree 100% with you ....While Joran is sitting in his cell today, with all the inhumanity activity going on around him...he could be reflecting on his life..and what he should/could have done....but I have a feeling he is putting all his thoughts/attention...just..figuring out...how to STAY ALIVE/keep from getting raped/eaten alive by rats/insects......in that he- - hole...

His actions have put him there...He has NO ONE to blame..

Jean C. says this is how it's done there. They don't hold you in the county (or whatever Peru's equivalent is) jail until sentencing like they do here.

One of the cases I'm following...see sig...the alleged perp is being held in a federal prison for a felon in possession of firearms until his trial. Overcrowding in the county facility. Of course, they think he is involved with the disappearance of his estranged wife too who can't be found. Another sick puppy--cunning, manipulative and violent.

Joran has not been convicted. He was officially charged with murder this morning.

Maybe there are some elements of truth to his confession, maybe Stephany did discover who he was and confronted him. I have no idea what to think anymore.

I am grateful for the Chilean authorities capturing JVDS and Peru for prosecuting him.

I pray for the Holloway & Flores families.
