Regarding Stephany's sexuality, I believe she was a lesbian or at least bi as I saw an article that quoted a former girlfriend of Stephany's saying that she was out but her family was unhappy about it. If I can find the story again I will post it.

As far as Joran calling Natalee a lesbian, I'm sure he meant that as an insult, but Stephany actually apparently dated women if not exclusively fairly exclusively according to her friends.

Also, this is my first post. I was invited here by my friend GuardianAngel who is also relatively new. Wonderful forum and site full of sincere, concerned, informed and thoughtful people!

I apologize if this has already been addressed, because I will never be able to catch up with all the posts, but I have a question about the coffee cups after watching the "coffee" video.

If I go out to Starbucks--or anywhere else--to get a coffee, I don't bring my own paper cup. As far as I can recall, I've never seen anyone else do this either. Is this a Peruvian norm, or something more universal that I just haven't observed yet because I'm an old fogey who doesn't get out much?

Now that Joran is locked up and his Daddy has passed away..I think they should put the heat on the Kalpoe brothers. Maybe they were afraid of the Van der Sloots and now they would come clean if given a plea deal...JMHO

Most autistic people have an inability to lie, which is not necessarily a bad thing, but is clearly unnatural. They don't even consider lying an option because they assume everyone knows the truth as they know it. And they are definitely NOT egocentric. I think Joran falls under the category of knowing exactly the seriousness of what he's doing, totally psycopathic, and narcissistic to the core!

agree. What stands out to me is Joran's total inability to calculate the
odds correctly - and he's a gambler? He may think he's a gambler
because he's looking for some social earmark (ID ... badge?) but from
posts here and elsewhere he's a very poor losing gambler.

His very worst bet is on himself and his own abilities/capacities. He
may know all of this inuitively inside himself (about himself) and this
may be one source of his deepseated anger ... with life. Somebody
taught him this. His mother and father? It isnt an accidental condition.
His parents seem obliviousto it or they are very poor odds makers
themselves or they dont care? His parents may have been stressed parents
unable to monitor everything ...

Larry King asked an interviewee if the Kalpoe bros were still on Aruba
and the answer was 'yes'. King asked if they might come forward now?
The guest answered: "No!................................" and I will delete
the explicatives.

Izzy, it was originally reported that Joran went to the convienance store next door to Hotel Tac. A gas station/mini-mart if you will. In my experience, those types of places do serve in styrofoam cups. Also, it's not unheard of for motels/hostels to provide styrofoam cups. We don't know where Joran got the coffee cups from at this point. We only see that he has them in his hand from the video's released yesterday. And we know that at least one was found in the room when Stephany's body was discovered. Everything else is still sketchy at this point.

I agree with you and feel like most of the confusion is a lost in translation situation. I think the facts are lining up nicely once the language barrier is crossed along with the T's and I's dotted.

Someone quote me if I'm wrong...but I watched a Peruvian video (in Spanish) and the newswoman said Joran walked out of the room at 8:36 with 2 coffee cups looked up and fiddled with the door. Saw the video camera and realized that plan wasn't gonna work. He then started knocking on the door, pretending he had locked his key inside. At 8:39 he went to get a hotel person to let him into the room. I still don't know what time the time of death was.

All we are certain of at this point is the death occurred sometime between 5:15 am (video footage of Stephany and Joran arriving at Hotel Tac) and 8:45 when Joran left hotel tac (based on video footage) to flee for good.

3 hour and 30 minute window.

I am still waiting to see the video where he first goes out for coffee and then returns and goes into the room and then comes out again with the coffee and starts his act that he forgot his key and has to get the TAC employee to let him in. I want to see the complete tape of when he returns and then goes out again to see how long he was in the room.

As Dolly has noted, I think it's safe to say that Stephany definitely was murdered sometime before 8:36 am (Joran was wearing his escape clothing at that point). We just don't know if he went out after his initial arrival at 5:15 to get coffee. I, like you, am waiting to see if they release that video to the public. Should be informative.

I have a video where he fiddles with the door with 2 coffee cups, bread/danish..locks himself out, then goes and looks for someone to open door for him.. It is a little patchy..5 minutes long..Its the 3rd one down to start the video. It's in Spanish but you don't need a translation..Actions speak louder than words..

Please remember that we do not attack other posters. Differences of opinion are good for all of us because they make us think - which is good for the brain. Belittling opposing viewpoints just indicates a narrow mind.

If you disagree, move on, ignore it. You don't have to agree - it's all good! But it is not your responsibility to try to change another's point of view. Post yours and let others post theirs.

Thanks,

Salem

Just saw on CNN:

__ two coffee cups found in room, both full.

__ forensics on tennis racket found no blood or hair on the racket.

I would like to know also:

1. Did he access the $15,00 that was wired into his Netherland's bank account.
2. How much of his own money did he have when he was captured.
3. He said that he had left his credit cards in the hotel in Santiago. Were these closed cards, or did Joran have full use of them. Also, were there any cards belonging to others. I suspect that he might have stolen credit cards in his possession.
4. Did he attempt to use Stephany's credit cards/bank cards.

#4: yes. widely reported he attempted to use Steph's credit card at
a bank but was rejected, video evidence Police say. This will enhance a robbery charge.

Thanks for providing the video. What I was looking for (and it has not yet been released) is when he goes out to get the coffee and returns with the coffee and goes into the room. The video you are referring to starts with him coming out of the room with the coffee cups and starting to set up an alibi that he left his key in the room and needs assistance to get back into the room.

The Kalpoe brothers are in this up to their hips. They should definitely put the screws to them but I'm not holding my breath.
