I believe in justice but this is too much. Joran should be able to do his time without have to watch even the food that he eats. That must be so scary. I mean he's going to pay for his crimes but to have to watch your back every waking moment must be a different type of hell. I think anyone can understand his fear. He's still a human being.

I understand what you're saying but then I remember how he showed no mercy to SF - he could have let her walk out the door. He killed her violently and would never look back if he hadn't been caught. Why should he not suffer in return? He had free will and chose to take the lives of others and leave their families in pain because of their losses forevermore. I feel their pain more than I feel anything for him.

Just went back through the threads and saw SuziHawk was on top of it...lol, I thought I had real news to share! Do we know why he has quit yet???

Something about his family experiencing "problems," but it wasn't clear if he was having personal problems, or the representation was causing problems for his family. IMO it's the latter, but I'm not sure it's been clarified yet.

According to this article, VDS owned a coffee shop in Thailand from some point in 2008 or later until early this year when he sold it...which contradicts his confession in which he makes it sound as though he still owns it and has for 2.5 years.

"In the sleepy Bangkok suburb of Muang Ake, he attended Rangsit University in 2008 as a business major but dropped out and bought the Sawadee Cup cafe just off the campus, which served sandwiches and pizza....Van der Sloot may have been a charmer, but he apparently wasn't much of a businessman. So says the young Thai woman who, with her American boyfriend, bought the cafe from him early this year...'I looked at the documents and balance sheets he left. Many items just look wrong.'."

Now I just stumbled across two You Tube videos showing this cafe and to my surprise (shock) they were posted by him, under one of his web aliases of 'AUAJORANBKK'. It appears he set up this cafe from scratch, so he must have had a some funds back then.

This led me to his You Tube channel:

If you scroll down from the video, you can find out lots about him from his Profile. It says he last accessed this site 'two weeks ago'. I don't know how precise that is, but 2 wks. ago from today is May 31....the day after the murder, when he was on the run!!

There are also recent comments posted by others, some for and some against him.

Then if you look at his 'Favorites', many are music videos with titles like 'Fear', 'Killer', 'Money To Blow', 'Women Lie Men Lie'.

I have to tell you that just finding this website, created by him, was very eerie and somewhat chilling.

Between you and me, even in our prison, I would be afraid to eat anything......LOL, who knows who spit in the food or peed in the coffee.
Even guard food might be tainted..............never know about some restaurants.
I say let JVS worry a bit.........it will do him good to say "I should of never killed anyone!"

karma...imagine being a young lady and being scared when confronted by Mr Joran Hyde. I enjoy reading that he is scared now...about time!!! (bet he feels more like a rabbit than a snake or a lion)...maybe he will start to realize how his victims felt/scared before he killed them...JMHO

So now we get a FOURTH confession from Sloot re NH. In this version Sloot says NH and he were on their way back to NH’s hotel in Aruba when they met a friend of his and went to the friend’s apartment. There they did some drugs and NH began to dance. Somehow NH falls off the balcony and dies. The Friend and Sloot take her body across a swamp and reeds to bury her in the deepest part of the swamp.

I believe the spanish version of his confession says the email he got said "I'm going to kill you, mongoloid".....which was translated to mean idiot or moron.

I read the comments from the newspaper that reported it and in the comment section it stated the lawyers family was threatened...don't know if that is true or not.

I'm with all of you. Hey, a little pee never hurt anyone, lol. It just disturbs me that someone has to sleep with one eye opened whilst serving life (most likely) in the worst prison ever. I really believe that Stephany's killing was an accident. I can't say either way if he murdered NH. He definately looks suspect.

I agree. The attorney and family have probably received many death threats. Not that attorneys here don't get a few, but in Peru I would think the threats are from an entire community, not just one whacko.

Thats a good question, I'm not sure how much money Natalee had left. I think I remember Beth saying Natalee didn't have a debit card on her it was at home.

I believe at the time it was reported that she had won about $500 that night in the casino.

That's the scary part - we never hear that JVS shows any remorse or sorrow over the losses he has caused.

Remember the video of him describing how NH convulsed - he was not upset one bit. The same goes for how he describes what he did to SF. He tells it matter of factly slanted only to suit himself. He can only fear/grieve for himself over the results of his own avoidable crimes. My fear is that society will have to cope with him being free on the streets again.

Thank you. All I could think of was people from Mongolia or the politically incorrect and inaccurate use of that word to describe persons with Downs' Syndrome.

Geraldo asked his brother last night on the show how Dave was doing. He told him he was as upset today as he was 5 years ago when he learned his daughter was missing. So, so sad.
