Peru - Stephany Flores, 21, murdered in Lima hotel room, 30 May 2010 #13

This is another statement in his confession document which I have not seen or heard discussed anywhere:

Right after the murder, he says "Then I thought: now what? I left the hotel but the receptionist told me I had to move the car. I went back to room 309. I wanted to flee the hotel. I grabbed my two bags and I drove away with the car."

This indicates that he walked out of the hotel prior to when he see him on the video leaving with this two bags....again, if you can believe him!!

I had understood that the car was left in the hotel parking lot when he and Stephany arrived.

Anyone else hear about this?

There certainly are still a lot of gaps to be filled in! Wish they would just let us see all the tapes of exits and entries to that room from 5:15 am to 9 am!!!

Yes I read it in the confession as you did. LE has the hotel receptionist to question about what he said in this regard (re moving the car). It's not as if he did this crime in a vacuum.

It'll be in his trial since it's in his confession.

I don't think he ever went for coffee.. from what I'm seeing.. he brings two empty cups out of the room with him (you can tell they're empty because of how he's holding both in one hand.. fresh coffee would be way to hot to hold like that) and does his little knocking act with the door closed, but not latched (locked).. then he fiddles with the knob and then pulls to door shut so it's locked.. then does the knocking thing again and the leaves to go get someone to open the door.

It was stated by SF's father I think that there is a receipt dated May 30 with no time stamp from the Mart next door to the hotel. Who knows if the receipt is actual evidence. For all we know, he could have bought something on his way out as I'm not sure if that was found in the room or in SF's car.

My first thought was that JVS and SF boughtbrought coffee going into the hotel but the video does not support that.

o/t May I ask a favor? Could everybody stop posting for about an hour while I change out my dishwasher and throw a load of clothes in the machine? lol.

To me, it looks like the coffee cups are empty when he leaves the room just by the way he is carrying them... like he's not worried about spilling all over.

Maybe they have lids. I've only seen it a few times and didn't pay that much attn to what you're talking about but seems to me he holds them the same way I would if they were full with lids. Interesting aspect. I'll check it out when I see it again.

I think Joran saying he didn't know what he was doing with the two cups of coffee hi-jinx going in and out of the room, locking it, knocking on the door etal "I don't know.." is code for I'm not going to tell you because I was trying to set up an alibi for myself and I don't want to cop to it because that would indicate malice aforethought. (which it was) That's my opinion only in his lame "I don't know.." malarkey (speech designed to obscure, mislead or deflect)

I think you're right. Someone commented on here yesterday that at the 1:02 mark of the 'coffee' video (time 08:36:25), he seems to notice the camera...at which point, his hand that was doing the knocking goes limp, as he realizes his alibi won't work!

The only other inmate in the area is alleged Colombian hit man Hugo Trujillo Ospina. The two have spent some time together in a common area where there is a television set and weights made of out of broomsticks and soda bottles, authorities said.

A little OT humor..........I cannot tell anyone (except you folks) that I have spent most of my summer break watching a killer (IMO) fiddling with a door holding coffee cups.....nobody I know would believe me....or maybe they would,lol

Misinformation - the casino is not owned by Stephany's father. I believe I read that he is good friends with the owner though.

2. Is Stepany's family reporting she had won more money than previously reported?

3. Is it possible that she loaned him some money to gamble on and followed him back to his room so he could repay her at that moment and perhaps also (if Joran is remotely telling the truth) play some online poker?

4. Since one of his first "confessions" stated that there were 2 masked men in his room did he remove her pants after he murdered her to make appear as though those "2 men" assaulted and tried to rape her?

Thank you in advance for helping me with the answers and speculations. I don't have a theory just thought of that right now. I'll check back later for answers, this connection is too frustrating to try and follow the thread right now!

Stephany's father does NOT own the casino, he is friends with the owner of the casino. I read this on thread 5.

That's the one I saw - but we don't see him going INTO the room with the coffee - it starts with him opening the door from the inside of the room and coming out.

She said "we see him go INTO the room with the coffee and then come out with the two cups". I know I heard her say this because it threw me and I knew we didn't see him go INTO the room first."

Lannie, sorry to break it to you but Peru is a spanish speaking country. You are thinking of Brazil, the only country in South America that is portuguese speaking. I have visited Peru several times and I speak that language there. Even in Iquitos in the Amazon jungle, at Cusco over the Andes and everywhere else.

Thanks, Flow. Here's the problem I'm having with Steph Watts at this point. I've been reading on another site where he's claiming to have all kinds of inside information that he's just bursting at the seams to tell but isn't able to divulge just yet - giving the impression that something big is about to happen in Aruba. Now, maybe he really does and maybe he doesn't, but IF he does, then he should keep his mouth shut until he's ready to spill it, IMO. It may very well be that something is going on in Aruba that we haven't been privy to. I certainly hope so. But rather than getting my hopes up on a tease with, "I know something you don't know", I'll wait until I hear something more reliable.

Why didn't Terror Jaap turn over this map before now? And why would he turn it over to Steph Watts rather than turn it over to the authorities or to Tim Miller himself? He seems like the kind of guy that would want the credit for it himself. Just some things that make me wonder.
