Did you catch Jean C on HLN earlier saw she had watched that video over and over and then she said "we see Joran go IN the room with 2 coffee cups" - uhm - no we don't.

Does Jean C. had a more "complete" copy of this video? Did he just get back from getting the coffee, go in and come right back out? I think that's unlikely but who knows anymore.

Well, since I recorded the segment, I added my commentary at the end of the video. I am getting so frustrated with the reporting.

None of the reporters seems to be able to talk about how the darn coffee got to the room and when. We heard about this trip to get the coffee, and the white shirt.

We now know, well maybe we know, that Joran used the white shirt to strangle Stephany as it had blood on it, so he surely didn't wear the white shirt when he went out for coffee.

IMO it still appears that Joran bought the coffee before he killed Stephany.

Exactly!! To add also I think I have heard the shirt is white or cream or light beige....in the grand scheme of things I don't guess it matters but I like for it all to be in a neat package with no errors:dance:

Hi Cathy. After a reference was made to that book by our poster, cottages (TY cottages!) I found it on Amazon and intend to order the three books first written by that author and then also the book that is referenced in previous posts that is basically, from what I can gather after reading reviews and comments on the book, written to be more accessible to the gen. pop.

At first blush what I can gather from the little reading I have done the author is asserting that it might be a thought disorder. Which I find very interesting and want to read his work to see if that is exactly what he is saying and if so how he supports it with his work.

JFYI, I do intend to read his work and R. Hare's work soon (an author named in a previous thread by another poster!)

Although I am not educated in forensics or forensic psychology, I want to see if from what we know about JVDS (and other criminals on this board that have behaviors that appear to be from ASPD but have never been diagnosed with such that we know of...) it can give us some understanding of his actions.

Another thing that's been on my mind, when I first saw the videos of Joran and Stephany walking into the hotel, I could swear I noticed she was wearing a skirt and the same top I always see that she was wearing. They showed her legs at the beginning (not masked by the title and headlines/verbage across the bottom). As a matter of fact, I had it in my mind that she had been wearing a shift dress. But then in the casino she is wearing pants with the same top. I'm still confused about this as people were discussing that she was found with a skirt. The skirt I think she was wearing is the same color (or close) to her top. Anybody else remember seeing her wearing a skirt in any of the videos?

I am shocked at how poor translations, reporting and overall communications are coming through on this case! Hopefully, once Joran settles on a lawyer, we'll at least be able to get some information that is "correct"! I also hope that the "other side" will find someone who is able to speak English. This is clearly an international case and will involve other countries - most of which, like it or not, are proficient in English.

I don't think he ever went for coffee.. from what I'm seeing.. he brings two empty cups out of the room with him (you can tell they're empty because of how he's holding both in one hand.. fresh coffee would be way to hot to hold like that) and does his little knocking act with the door closed, but not latched (locked).. then he fiddles with the knob and then pulls to door shut so it's locked.. then does the knocking thing again and the leaves to go get someone to open the door.

My guess is that the strain and sadness of loosing Natalee tore them apart.

I did! I would have sworn she was wearing a skirt nearly the same color as her top.

I was watching HLN about 40 minutes ago. I don't have a link since I just watched this on tv,but the Jean Caesares was on,and talked about the coffee cups video,which she said was being shown repeatedly in Peru.. Jean said that, in the confession report, LE asked him what he was doing in that video. Jean said that JVDS responded that he really didn't know what he was doing, which she stated she took to mean that the video of JVDS with the coffee cups was after he had murdered Stephany. Again,this on HLN news at a little before 4pm, eastern central time. I had not heard this before anywhere,so I thought I would post it here.

Why put up with Joren saying he'll do this or do that if he gets to talk to Aruban authorities? He is not in the position to be making any deals at all. He needs to be told if he doesn't tell where Natalie Holloway's body is, and the correct story of what happened, he will be placed in the general prison population. If it is found out he has lied, he will be placed in the general prison population. If he messes with them anymore, he will be put in the general prison population. He is not the one who should be making the negotiation offers. At this point, the Peruvian police have all the power and Joren should be very frightened. He must know he is not going to wiggle his way out of charges this time. Even he can see there is too much evidence.

Agree totally with you BG...and I love that term "fiddles" 'cause that is clearly what he does....fiddles with the door which looks ajar to me from the getgo...the whole thing is just weird.:twocents:
I was a nervous wreck watching him with that door...just shut the dang door and be done with it,lol

YW. Short answer is he quit for personal reasons. My guess is that he and/or his family has been threatened or that JVDS is refusing to listen to his advice.

That's the one I saw - but we don't see him going INTO the room with the coffee - it starts with him opening the door from the inside of the room and coming out.

She said "we see him go INTO the room with the coffee and then come out with the two cups". I know I heard her say this because it threw me and I knew we didn't see him go INTO the room first."

Jean C HLN, keeps reporting you see Joran going into the room with the coffee BUT actually Joran originally comes OUT of the room with the coffee before he goes into the room with the coffee. :crazy:

To me, it looks like the coffee cups are empty when he leaves the room just by the way he is carrying them... like he's not worried about spilling all over.

I am late deafened so use only captioning to get all my news and information on the TV...so I'm one person who is not at all shocked by the information coming in and becoming bungled because of the language barriers. It reminds me of earlier captioning when I still had some hearing and they would completely change the meaning of a story by saying "she" did it on the captioning instead of "he" did it!
