HLN just said they are waiting for an interpretor before they charge him..
That's odd because he was speaking Spanish to LE and appears to understand every word.

I'm kind of with you on this one sunset. Not only did he get away with murder, he continued to taunt and mock not only Natalee's family but the mainstream media for the past 5 years. He thought it was a big joke that any time he needed cash, he would call them up and spin another tale of what happened to her, only to recant what he said immediately afterwards. This went on for 5 long and grueling years.
If making him stand in front of the media and be humiliated is the worst he encountered, then I'd say he's a lucky man. He raised the ire of so many people over those 5 years that I'm surprised someone didn't take it upon themselves to take a bat (racquet) to his head before now, while he was jetsetting around the country gambling off of the money he made by torturing Natalee's family over and over again.
That's odd because he was speaking Spanish to LE and appears to understand every word.
Thanks for clearing that up! I'm sorry if I confused anyone by saying that he did use a key. I really thought he did but I just looked again and you can see clearly that he didn't. Sorry
----------------------------------------------------------------------------I have been reading all the posts, however it is not clear to me where her vehicle was found? Was it at the casino, or was it at the hotel, or did he drive it somewhere?
or was she just going to his room to get paid back money she lent him?

I really like these thoughts... SF wanting her money back that she had lent him makes sense for her to go to the room.. The vehicle was found several blocks away, which I never understood why he wouldn't have kept the vehicle for a day or two to get closer to the border...or a least a couple more hours... :waitasec:

............ Also, why is Stephanie going with Joran to his room at that hour since she is not going to become involved with him? Who in their right mind goes to a hotel room with a strange male especially at that hour - what was the point, to get more cash before going out to eat or something? What did he tell her to get her to his room? Notice in the video, they are not walking arm in arm; she is behind him. Even at the door to the room, they don't appear "cozy". She doesn't seem impaired; unlike the video of Natalie where she clearly was under the influence of something. They are going to the room for something other than physical involvement - what? Maybe he offered drugs? I'm not saying she used drugs, but why go there? What would make a young woman trust him? What did he tell her to make her trust him? ..........There is something that is just odd about all the circumstances. ..............
The book, "People of the Lie", discusses the difference between regular people and people that commit horrendous crimes. ...............these people don't think, act, or respond like normal people - they are people of the lie.
... It also may have been a procedural necessity to show the public that not only did they have the correct person but show that he hadn't been harmed by police when he was handed over and while he was in their custody.
I can't imagine one would surrender their actual Passport to a hotel. They probably make a copy of it and keep it to identify who's staying in the hotel and then hand the original back to the guest. I would never give my Passport to anybody to keep - I'd always keep it with me while in a foreign country.
THIS IS THE CAR THAT BELONGED TO STEPHANY FLORES. PERUVIAN POLICE SAY VAN DER SLOOT DROVE AWAY IN THIS CAR AND LEFT IT ABOUT 50 BLOCKS AWAY FROM THE HOTEL. THAT'S WHY THE FAMILY SAYS THEY ORIGINALLY THOUGHT THEY WERE DEALING WITH A KIDNAPPING.

In the video where he is picking up his room key you can see he has something in his right hand and takes the room key with his left. I thought all along that he had her car keys in his right hand but now am not sure. What do you think? The footage I'm talking about can be viewed in post #2 of this thread.
Ummm.. "he looked like Brad Pitt" Really? April fools' was two months ago, folks.
