I believe this was the nail... daddy VanDoupSloop may have been able to sweep the trail in Aruba, but the video was just to much for him to weasel around. If he was presented with competent legal council, was shown the video, and told a confession may reduce his sentence withing the Peru system... maybe even adding a statement about how America was ready to extradite with extortion charges... and he cracked.

My only desires for the man man not are two...
  1. Fess up what you know on Hollaway
  2. Get pulled back to face charges in American and become cell mates with Casey Anthony

Good Lord no~ Could you imagine? Satan's unborn child would be procreated!

Really good article -- sorry if someone posted it. This thread moves quickly.

What Shalke found was a control-hungry man who thrived on any attention he got—even from being an accused murderer. “You can read him. He thrived talking about Natalee. He loved it,” Shalke told The Daily Beast. “Joran needs to be in control, and he is capable of lying and embellishing the facts to stay in the superior position. But this is also a guy that, when he is not

Bubali plas/lake, a bird sanctuary and protected nature...

This would be a tip that Aruba had in June of 2005 and the area was never searched.

So if a sniper bullet gets him on his way to the scene, what will we think?
An angry citizen or a set up?
Na - not yet. Many here are probably tired of hearing me say - he'll only be alive as long as they want him alive. I'm willing to bet that when it happens it will be suicide - they'll find him hanging in his cell. I, for one, will certainly not question that. Would you?

The lawyer said, however, that the Holloway disappearance could be used "as evidence of proof in Peru," and the Holloway family may ask a Peru court "for a longer sentence because of Natalee's murder."

I hope the Holloways do ask!

Oh my goodness, there is no way that Aruba can ask Peru to give Joran a longer sentence for the "alleged" murder of Natalie. First and foremost, Joran would have to be charged for the murder of Natalie and that never happened.

Can you picture Holloway's attorney presenting this to the Peruvian court and saying "listen, we weren't capable of proving Joran killed Natalie and since we screwed up, could you keep Joran in your prison a little longer and we will let the family know "we got justice finally?"

"If charged with homicide, that would take off the table the potential charge of aggravated robbery, which carries a life sentence here. Officers had been investigating leads that van der Sloot had killed Flores to steal her winnings (about $1,000) from a hot streak at the local casino where they had met.

Van der Sloot could face between 15 and 30 years for murder, with the severity depending on how the prosecutor views the evidence.

First degree murder would get him the maximum sentence and few opportunities for parole."

Does anyone find it odd that aggravated robbery carries a life sentence in Peru, but murder only carries between 15 & 30 years? Plus the "benefit" of 2 for 1 for good behavior?

They were showing on the banner below on NG and the Joy B show that she had 2K and it was missing. I was wondering what happened to the rest that was reported early on she had. So I have been trying to find a confirm report if it ws 2 or 5.

I think it is being lost in the translation between currency, I think she had 5k in their currency which is about 2k in ours.

Call me jaded, but I prefer to sit back a few days to see what story comes from "Peruvian officials" next. First they reported Stephany had been stabbed repeatedly. Then bludgeoned. First with baseball bat, then tennis racket. They almost make U.S. media look sharp as a tack when it comes to early reporting accuracy.

Nothing I've ever seen or heard from Joran suggests he is the type to ever confess to authorities, unless he reached the perception that somehow it would save his skin (talk, or we cut your private parts off here and now!). He did a lot of "talking" about Natalee on candid camera, and seems to me his braggart story changed based on who he was talking to.

IF there was a date rape drug in use (as "reported" found in her car), how long would she be out of it? Even capable of firing up a laptop, much less sitting upright?

I don't agree that nobody would do that with somebody else's computer. If I suspected a guy of possible murder (or much less even) and thought I had ample private time, I'd be in there in a New York minute. But then also OUT of that room. While it is possible she had no idea who he was, or his connection to Natalee, if she did and had half a brain, she wouldn't blindly trust him (or, fatefully, she did).

I'll sit and wait a bit for this story to "develop" and see where we sit tomorrow, the next day, next week. Internet reports of him having committed suicide last week were also a bit premature. Frankly, I just take all of it with a grain of salt.

I pray for Natalee and Stephany's sake he lands in a Peruvian jail with the maximum sentence. Pity no life sentences or death penalty in Peru, but other prisoners I suspect would make short work of him.

Just perusing Dutch websites to add to the pile.....photo of "reenactment" of stephany on floor, and lots of comments.

if this doesn't link I'll try again.
BBM and added reenactment.
Patty G ETA - the photo is a reenactment.

That is NOT Stephany, it is a reenactment of how Stephany was on the floor. Note: this picture has pants on, etc.

PLEASE add "reenactment" to your post. Thanks.

Could there be more victims? Police in Cloumbia looking for two girls.

translation of article through babelfish:

LIMA - in the South American mediums the bulletins concerning Joran of of the ditch succeed each other in sneltempo. In Colombia the police force has now started a study into the disappearance of two little girls from the capital Bogóta. That schijft the Peruvian newspaper ell Comercio. Disappearance coincided with the stay of Joran of of the ditch in Bogóta between 6 and 14 May. Of of the ditch stands according to the newspaper on several guarding pictures of large casino' s in the city. The little girls visited the same casino' s. of of the ditch stayed those days in two hotels in the Colombian capital. The Peruvian nieuwssite drawer República could earlier today communicate that the authorities on Aruba had found the rests of Natalee Holloway. The Solicitor General of Public Prosecution Service on Aruba contradicts those bulletins however. Last week became, however, clear that Joran of of the ditch have tried wrest the mother of Natalee. He, against payment of 250,000 dollars, the spot where Natalee lie bury have confessed want make.

still, I call bs...

no way does she take his laptop and refuse to give it back. if she did this it was because he took her money and keys and would'nt give them back. no way would she get into his computer...no one does that. I don't buy it for a minute....for what reason would she do that? if anything like this occured...it was during her struggle...I bet he was like...do you know who i am? go ahead...google my name....no no no....he did this...

the snooping story is total garbage.

I agree. He would have had a security password on that computer so she couldn't have gotten on without it, if she grabbed the laptop while he was on it he was plenty strong enough to simply take it back AND finding out he is "connected" with the Holloway disappearance isn't invasion of privacy, it's public information.

I think it's very important that this happened on the fifth anniversary of Holloways disappearance. He was bragging, he was in Peru with money he extorted from Natalie's mom, he was celebratory, he probably said "google me". My question is, did he really get angry (of course he would say he did because that's what he knows "normal" people would say) or was this an anniversary killing celebration (sorry, that sounds horrible). Where was he on the first, second, third and fourth anniversary of Natalie's disappearance. Do we know? Killing on this date may be a pattern for him. Psychopaths have done crazier things.

I have felt this for a while and it is getting stronger. I think sociopaths have emotions. I think they have as many emotions as anyone. It's just that only have them for themselves. I think that makes them even worse. They know, they know what is right or wrong. They know they are hurting people and they love it! They aren't missing emotions, they are missing something much more important.

:twocents:
Yes... they are missing empathy.

Which is pretty much the same as missing a soul.

I thought that was odd too, but now I think the "aggravated" part is the actual murder. So perhaps "aggravated robbery" is robbery resulting in murder or murder with the intention to commit robbery.

What? I find that odd too. Property and money is more important that human life???

JMO: Joran is a narcissistic sociopath. He has lived his entire life without consequences for his actions, and believed he could get away with anything, anywhere. I think he is enraged by having sexual advances rejected, and I believe this is why poor Natalee and Stephany met their demise while in his company. Just sayin...
