I thought I heard on the JVM or NG show tonight that a white woman's purse was found in Joran's room. This was not Stephany's because she was not carrying it on the video. I wonder if Joran was also keeping himself flush with cash by stealing purses. Did anyone else hear this?

A woman's white leather clutch that says "Flower Power" on it was found in the room - mentioned by Jean Casares on Nancy Grace. I'm curious as to whom it belonged to, also.

morning all, just got up and gotta get to work so sorry if this has already been asked :/
but, why would jvds really care if she saw something on google about him and nh? thats old news that he himself has hashed and rehashed...i would think he would have just lied to her like he has lied to everyone else about it?? i think he wanted her for the money she had and money he thought she had access to... i also sorta think she may have been the better poker player - he had lost his money... doubt this sat very well with him for her to have potentially had control over herself and her money to just walk out and leave him broke all because of some nh news on google... so - it looks like i just did a 180 on myself, eh? LOL
never mind my first opinon... :) i really need some coffee now!

I still don't understand why Joran, since it appears he had his passport, some money (I would like to know how much), credit cards and Stephany's car, didn't just go directly to the airport and catch a flight to Thailand, Cambodia, etc., one of those countries where it would be much more difficult to track him down. The only reason that I can think of is that he didn't have enough cash or his credit cards were over-extended and he was trying to get someone to send him money through western union. Did Stephany really win about $5,000 at the casino that night, or is that just rumor. That would have surely gotten him out of SA. Exactly how much cash did Joran have on him when he was captured? I just can't see him staying in SA if he could get far away.

I cannot believe that Stephany would have helped herself to his computer.

Is that normal? I'd never open someone's laptop that I just met without their permission. That's b.s. imo.

He's making it up as he goes - besides, even if she innocently tried to google something - that's no reason to kill a person. He's bad to the bone. 'She invaded his personal space' (or something close). Then why the hell is he bringing strangers to his room - I feel hate for him. He can't even confess honestly. And why and when would he leave her alone in his room. He's full of .

Did she have an iPhone or a smartphone? If she did, there's no way she would have used someone else's laptop (like you said, practically a stranger's...I don't even use my BF's without telling him....pretty personal but definitely not a reason for anyting other than "please ask my permission". She would have used her own device if she had one, I think)

Also, the person who told the head of the poker room that JVS was a murderer....I can't believe that person (head of room) didn't do something when the guy told him about JVS. He is a (seemingly) well-connected musician who had probably had much more exposure to NH's case than the average Peruvian...he recognized JVS immediately. I just...wow.

Hello - this is my first response as an official member. I found you guys around the time of the Denise Amber Lee case, and know this is a most fantastic forum. I admire all the hard work and effort you all put forth! I decided to join because the Kyron Horman case hits home, as a Portlander, and I would like to be able to contribute in any way.

I am also pretty excited by the events of today re Joran(!), but have to agree that a confession is a little anticlimactic. His reasoning doesn't add up given that, even if he left the room Stephanie would at most been able to do a simple google search (who wouldn't - I do that when I meet a guy and know hs name, though in the privacy of my own home) - and claiming that those search results invade his privacy is ridiculous. He's never backed down from talking about who he is with anyone before. She would have had to quickly stumble upon his own more private information, unless he showed it to her himself, with the intent of scaring her. I think that is possible, but a little bit "made for tv" given the 5 years to the date Holloway anniversary. But he seems to appreciate the fame he's gained in the way only a sociopath could.

I am on the boat that this was robbery and desperation - maybe even knowing he was going to soon be run into a corner regarding the Natalee investigation. She won money that night? Or did she lose? In any case, they may have discussed gambling woes and he offered her his computer. She ended up in his room, I think under the influence of something or feeling submissive due to owing him something as a result of her money issues and him offering help of some kind (her body language in the video).

At minimum, even if this sicko had nothing to due with Natalee's death (which I most definitely think he is responsible for), he has been getting more and more perversely deviant and obsessed with fame, and the Holloways (GVS interview, PDV interview, extortion). I don't think the coincidence of the date Stephanie died can be lost on anyone at this point. My main concern going forward is that he may use the media, the last 5 years, and some sickness to reduce jail time and make himself as much of a victim as he can.

Or perhaps someone texted her to alert her that she was with a dangerous guy? he was ID'd by 2 individuals earlier that night right? maybe he intercepted a text? and all heck broke lose?

Is it possible that through various friends...the musician who reported JVS said he was not friends with Stephany, but had seen her before. He outright stated he wasn't friends with her, but perhaps he knew one of her friends and casually mentioned he had seen JVS in the casino (not knowing they were friends with Stephany) and that friend put 2 and 2 together? Just an idea. I'm sure the musician probably told the dealer as well. Who told other people. Who knows. Good idea.

ETA: I can't tell you how many times (as I'm sure everyone has experienced) I start talking to someone (or a friend) and they know another friend pretty well...and I never knew they knew each other.

sicko (as someone called him) might could get a joe t. to make an argument that might convince a juror in L.A. that sicko deserves a break, but Sicko is not in L.A. He is in Peru and he has brutally murdered a daughter of a member of the Peruvian upper class, and will be judged by three Peruvian judges.

he can whine all day about his bad deal, but its only gonna get worse from now on.

he is at the gates of hell.

I've been reading the news that JVDS has confessed to killing Stephany Flores. I worry that he's going to be cutting some kind of deal to get out early. He should never be allowed out of jail or prison to harm anyone else! At 23 years old even if theoretically he served 35 years in a Peruvian prison, he would be 58 years old when he got out. He would be as dangerous then as he is now. Let's hope that the U.S. can also successfully prosecute him for wire fraud so that he remains in prison for the rest of his life. I don't think that Aruba will ever prosecute JVDS in the Natalee Holloway disappearance so I wouldn't count on him serving any time there.

if your asking if his story makes sense? the answer is, no. its all a lie. and the Peruvians KNOW IT and they are gonna bring him down

What? When did this happen? I clicked on what I thought said "JVS accused of murder" or whatever the old link said. I took me a second to realize what the title said. I have to go back and read this...when did this break?? Great news! And surprising! They must have had bucketloads of evidence.

"I did not want to do it," paper quotes Natalee Holloway suspect as saying.

Mama's on a plane on her way to Lima.

Well, this little bit pretty much says it all to me. I have bolded the relevant verbiage. Unbelievable.

"I went to her and I hit her. She was scared, we argued and she tried to escape. I grabbed her by the neck and hit her."

he will not stay alive a month in that prison.
