Plea or Tip? Will there be an arrest?

I also wanted to say if LE did get some sort of confession out of JAG I think it was because they found some kind of evidence linking him to Amber when they searched some of his "residences" and he knew the jig was up. I don't think that he confessed out of the goodness of his heart, because I don't believe for one second that he has a heart!

Are you sure you want to use that as your example? I suggest you read the entire article first.

What are you talking about? The guy would have gotten away with it if he didn't write a letter, considering other people (apparently innocent) were convicted of the crime.
His DNA was found and he was convicted of a crime after writing a letter to his friend.
If there ever was a perfect example, this is it.

Lily, ITA about maybe JAG used another teen to lure Amber away....The thing about him having teens over all the time to play videos...And didn't people see Amber talking with a dark skinned boy on her way to school? Maybe this kid lured Amber away and JAG took full advantage of it...

He is accused of accosting Chelsea King in the park as she was running. So something like asking a teen to lure a girl away doesn't fit the alleged MO at all.

More than likely that is just the access point to the location where her remains were found. The actual location I am sure was not what we are seeing in the picture.

Yep yep and YES MA'AM! We need to remember what LE has (and hasn't) said in Chelsea's case so far. Very shortly after JAG was arrested - LE was starting to say he was a POI in Amber's case. I believe this statement was made AFTER LE had gotten (and executed) the search warrants. We can draw the conclusion that probably those seach warrants yielded evidence (info) that involved Amber. LE has said - he's not talkin' - and that "smirk" on his ugly mug in the mugshot confirmed he's a piece of work.

Hi! I am a daily reader of WS on many different cases, but this is my first official post (just a bit intimidated at times, but not in a bad way you all AMAZE me)!!! I had a thought as to why this could have been so hush hush yesterday and at such an early hour for the discovery. Could LE have brought either JAG or his family in to identify the site and give the exact location of the spot , and that was the need for obvious security and the reason to throw the media off with the supposed search of the other park????

WELCOME!!!! AND I BET YOU'RE RIGHT!!! LE deflected EVERYBODY and EVERYTHING to the Kit Carson Park search/bag of hair. Very easy to "slip him out a side door and whisked off in a car (shackled, at gun point) and told TALK (or he11, just point)

I have even more questions now. I truly believe that Amber and Chelsea were not his only victims. How many in between Amber and Chelsea will there be? Its been a year - almost exactly. This guy has serial killer written all over him. They usually operate in cycles which shorten (toward the end - where they get caught). Serial killers usually take "souvenirs" - and that's what I'm thinking LE found in the serach warrants. I'm just praying that if there were other victims - that LE has found enough in evidence that they will be able to find and/or identify the others.

LE didn't say anything about where the lead came from. I believe in the press-conference the word was it would be inappropriate to comment on where it came from.

Escondido Police Chief Jim Maher issued this statement regarding Amber Dubois at a press conference Sunday at Escondido Police Station:
I certainly had hoped that when the day came to do a press conference about Amber it would be under much different circumstances, but that was not to be.
With me today is Sheriff Bill Gore, FBI Special Agent-in-Charge Keith Slotter and Amber's parents, Moe and Carrie.
Through information developed in the course of the Amber Dubois investigation, human skeletal remains have been positively identified as being those of our missing 14-year-old Amber.
The discovery was made in the early morning hours of Saturday in a very rugged and remote area of Pala, which is in northern San Diego County.
Escondido police and sheriff's homicide detectives were following a lead in the case when they made this discovery.
Positive identification was subsequently made by the San Diego County medical examiner late Saturday afternoon by way of a dental records comparison. The parents were notified in person by Escondido and Sheriff's investigators Saturday night.
I know this will be disappointing to all of you, but I cannot take questions today. This is an ongoing murder investigation and any details, no matter how slight, would be inappropriate to reveal at this point in time.

BTW - the tree is about 3.5 miles north of where the library is in Pala 3.1 is closer estimate!

But he's not been accused of asking teenage boys to lure girls away.

AND - the only two women in his life that have "really managed to screw him (and his life) completely up". The joggers being "mommie dearest" and her very odd running club and the second being his "first victim - the 13 yr old" - who he groomed for a couple of weeks before making his move - who then "told on him and even lied a little which managed to screw him and his life up - yet again".


Please note the quotation marks around JAG's thinking are NOT my opinion or thinking but of "being inside HIS head" and what he thinks.


IIRC all the other attacks where the same - either joggers in a park (Dec attack - CM - named in the charges) or school age girls (middle or high school) walking to school.

I think it depend on what exactly the reward was for.
Sometimes it's only given if the person is found alive, or the information leads to the arrest and conviction. On "find Amber" website it says 50,000 $ is given for the safe return-I presume it means only if she is found alive, and 50,000 for arrest and conviction of the person responsible.
So whoever provided tip would have to wait until the arrest and conviction, I presume.
