I'm not sure what the official stance is on this as I haven't researched for a while - I got too depressed knowing SCPD weren't doing anything with this case and that Marie, Shannan's mother, had passed. May they both rest in peace. After a conversation with Mr Ray it was evident that nobody except for him was willing or able to push for justice for Shannan. Unfortunately with his client being deceased it seemed to me that his hands were tied.

That's a good question. I have been trying to identify those present at the Brewer house that night, but with great difficulty. I believe I know the names of 4 of the atendees - unfortunately I do not know how many were present, so there may be more that I have not identified.

In my city, the largest in a small country, there is a group of men who organise sex parties with sex workers (sex work is not illegal here), get together to swap stories of their sexploits and one that I know of was wanted for human trafficking. The one who trafficked is a nasty piece of work, he always sought positions of authority where he would work along side his victims - stalking and grooming them. Another inserts himself into the life of his 'flavour of the month', as it were and tries to become their pimp, controlling which clients the girl sees - usually only to his group of like minded people (of which most of the men who meet up to discuss sex workers are a part of)

I believe that there are parallels between these men and those involved in Shannan's case. Deviants are deviants regardless of nationality. Each of the men who were in attendance that night cannot be considered innocent parties.

At least the colloquially named Daily Fail lists Shannan as one of his victims. He pled not guilty to 3 counts of first degree murder and 3 counts of second degree murder.

Nor can I - he won't be and there doesn't appear to be any evidence linking the two. FWIW, I've never thought Shanann was a LISK victim and still don't. She happened to be found deceased in the same area as the others and was a sex worker so it's reasonable to look into that road but there just isn't anything there that we know of.

Have always believed Shanann's death was accidental when she ran out into the pitch black and she was under the influence of some kind of drugs or had some adverse reaction to something Dr. Hackett gave her and he and Mike covered it up. First one probably more likely than the second. Just MOO but definitely do not believe she was a LISK victim.

Ah, I see it now... the Daily Mail article appears to link them together. Having now read the bail application, all charges pertain to three victims, but charged for first and second degree murder for each of the 3. Indeed my news source sucked!

I'm not sure what the legalities of all this is - it would make sense to me that he was charged for first degree murder for them, so why is he also facing second degree murder? I know that here we don't have first and second degree murder - it's either homicide murder or homicide manslaughter, so I was assuming that homicide murder = first degree murder, and that homicide manslaughter = second degree murder. Yet I could be very wrong. Anyone willing to explain why he's facing first and second? And I mean, explain like I'm 5 lol.

For those who may be new to Shanann's case or just joining because of the renewed interest with RH's arrest, here is a map I made to help myself showing her movements with labels of each of the houses she visited that night. Note that the only person who said that Dr. Hackett came into contact with Shanann was Dr. Hackett himself after her body was found and there are no 911 calls that indicate his voice or presence.

I have a major client that is from Long Island and have been to within 10-15 minutes of this exact area many times. I can tell you that at night it's very dark even inland and near the beach area it's even darker. On the far left side of the map you see the road ends and there is no outlet so Shanann's only way out besides climbing through thick brush and woods that separates the houses was to go back out the way she came.

If Pak was indeed looking for her in a black SUV as Colletti's call seemed to indicate just before she reached Brennan's house where the last call was made, there aren't many roads here so he would've been able to easily find her.

In regards to Shanann being a LISK victim, the only way I can see that is if RH was at JB's house that night. It was pretty evident by the specifics of the call that JB did not host Shanann alone and had a 'small gathering' of a few friends. My assumption is she was hired to entertain, be eye candy, dance, etc. for the rich dudes on the Island.

The only possible clue I could discern is at one point you can clearly hear JB talking in the background while Shanann is on the phone with the 911 operator. JB audibly says "the guy wants to talk to you out here" because at that point, he wanted her to leave his house. This was also shortly after Shanann became spooked enough to call 911.

There are two theories for me:

1. He was talking about Pak because Pak hadn't entered the house yet as her driver/security/protector/setup guy/etc. So when she started to freak out, he called Pak to come get her but wouldn't know his name so Pak was "the guy".

2. There was another male at the house that either Brewer didn't know (less likely) or knew but didn't want to say his name (more likely) and that person was being used as a diversion to get Shanann out of the house because by that point Brewer seemed to have had enough of her.

Is it within the realm of possibility that man or someone associated with him was RH? I can't rule it out and I'm sure LE is investigating that to the ground right now. RH was an obvious frequent user of escorts and is the alleged LISK killer so if he was in the Brewer home or knew someone who was, it's very easy to see a scenario where she was a LISK victim.

In the end, I heavily lean #1 but cannot rule out #2.

Maybe the first step to ascertain if RH was involved with the Joseph Brewer-Shannan Gilbert incident, is to see if RH's wife was in town at that time. It appears all RH's crimes occurred when the wife was away from Long Island.

On one hand, their loved one was taken from them brutally and there has been no headway on finding the perp so her anger is very justified and understandable. On the other, a few of the Gilbert family members have been like Steve Goncalves on steroids to the press and police with this case.

I can't say I blame them because God forbid I was ever in their situation but confrontational and antagonistic are accurate descriptive words I think. I hope they find peace at some point and certainly closure to punish whoever did this to Shanann.

IMO, the suspect in custody will wind up being responsible for more bodies along gilgo, than not.

From what I understood there doesn't appear to be any direct links from RH to Oak Beach and Pak, Brewer or Hackett but of course that doesn't mean they aren't there. I would personally be surprised if Shanann was a LISK victim but it would actually be a good one because then at least her killer would've been found and perhaps LE could figure out exactly how she died because the whole 'accidental asphyxiation' they gave before just didn't hold weight.

Based on several sources, I am seeing that Rex Heuermann was a recluse and rarely socialized. From this article:

Neighbor Michael Musto, who has lived in Massapequa Park for 40 years and took the train into Manhattan with Heuerman for work, described the 59-year-old suspect as a "recluse" and kept "to himself."

Not impossible, but I would be surprised if RH had an accomplice.
