No, I actually DID find him in the aol directory, I just can't tell if he's an AOL member or just an AIM user. I would think AIM users wouldn't be in the AOL member directory, but don't know either way for sure.
 
Sorry if this has already been posted, there is so much web activity, it's hard to keep it straight what we've seen already. I don't remember seeing this info though -- that he actually wrote he is no longer selling the vx.

I recently landed a new job and for now am trying to keep my VX. If I had 14.5 I would buy your ride in a heartbeat. For now I have the VX under a tarp, I'm gonna ride it around and everyone who asks me about it I will let them know they can get their own piece of history too!

I live in Durham and am trying to get someone together to go to a car show on the 25th. If we hang in the parking lot you can put a for sale sign on the ride... Ya never know!

There is no end to this guy's postings! Anybody know what new job he landed in February? Probably met to say, my wife landed a new job and now I can keep all my toys. Not only can she clean the VX, she can pay for it too!

He also posted that he was months behind in his payments on the VX and wouldn't be able to catch it up. This guy was in a huge hole that kept getting deeper.

I'm not one to complain for those who choose to part with their vehicles as I am selling my 99 as well. However, you need to do your homework before you start assuming that the VX is incapable.

First, as RT mentioned Tone has a custom hitch that fits really nicely in the VX. You can probably pay someone $60 to install it or you can follow Tone's very detailed instructions.... I believe Tone rated the hitch at 5k lbs.

Secondly, for $3.00 you can buy the little round mirror add-ons from Autozone to give you great vision and for an addition $10 you can get Van-Eyes to add to the rear window... Moncha has pics of this at his website.

Finally, spend $500 and get yourself a rear camera and monitor and have perfect VISION!!!!

Dude, I was in your shoes a dozen times thinking of reasons I made a bad choice. I bought my 99 brand new and a year later was thinking... Damn, I could have gotten a 4 door grand cherokee for the same price I paid for my VX.... Five years later I am now so glad I didn't get rid of the VX or go with a "traditional SUV".... Then again, I like being different.

ANYWAY... If you wanna sell, I'm sure someone out there wants to buy, but don't give the VX a bad wrap by saying it can't do what you want it to, cause it can, you just have to take the time to make it happen!

My bad, its the california blood coming out in me... I use DUDE way too much.

You're right and so is the Redline... Sell if you gotta sell and I'm sorry to see you go... I tow motorcycles and short trailers with no problem ,but yeah, small wheelbase!

I'm not trying to be rude, just offering ideas that you've probably already explored...

Also, I'm not glad you're selling, It was kinda nice having another VX in close proximity. I've noticed a few of the new members are in the area too.Any interest out there in a North Central meet this spring/summer?
Anyway, I hope whatever you decide works out for the best. Ldub

I just checked my daughter's friend in the directory. He is not on AOL but does have an AIM account. He showed up in the directory with a message but no icon, (he never has an icon). Can you get an icon as an AOL IM user? I thought you could but after rethinking it, I know for sure that you could NOT in the past. Things have changed so much so fast in AOL that I don't know anymore.

Ewwwinteresting, who wrote this part? Was this nc_vx or a response to his post?
 
Apparently, Superbuddies are available to AIM users for a fee but if I'm not mistaken, you can get them as an AOL user for free. So Raven could either be an AOL subscriber or just an AIM user. I'm thinking he's NOT on AOL but just using the AOL Instant Messaging software to communicate with friends and family on different servers.

(I don't know when the newest edition was released but he's obviously either signed up just recently or he kept his AIM software updated; he couldn't use the Superbuddy otherwise. (It also means that he's definitely using Windows, (not that that matters at all)). I wonder if it's possible to find out when someone first got AIM.)

I have heard rumblings that AOL is going to become a portal much like yhaoo and msn and become free so maybe this is part of the first transfer over... offering free icons for AIM users? I will find out later today at work...
Nevermind, just read your post on the $1.95 charge.

I really think he's just AIM .... because I can't find him in the regular AOL directory.

Oh great. :rolleyes: I hope this doesn't mean that my AOL service is going to change! (Sorry for the selfish, o/t remark but I LOVE my AOL just like it is!)
 
Maybe I was just oblivious and missed this early on... put on the archived site of pocketpcguy.com, where the infamous Christmas video was found... did anyone else notice (and forgive me if this is already here and I just can't find it somewhere) that there is a SECOND video on the site? One where Raven shows some of the C'mas presents, then goes to Janet in the kitchen cooking breakfast???

I never could get it to open, but I do believe that misterallgood has saved it around here somewhere, I couldn't get but a few seconds to play for me tho.
 
OOPS! Ah, nevermind. I found the link elsewhere on the boards to the second video. I just had never seen that one before!
 
It starts with Raven panning around the living room and talking about some of HIS presents. And the he goes into the kitchen where Janet is standing at the stove making scrambled eggs. He tries to focus in on the clock on the stove (as he has just, rhetorically, "and what time did we get up this Christmas morning Janet?")...she replies 11:00am, as we tries to focus in on the clock. Then the video just ends....
