Truth is, who knows, eh? That woman, already significantly unbalanced, became homicidally deranged by late May 2008. She absolutely premeditated his murder and went there fully equipped to make sure he died.

Given that, I'm not sure she needed any extra provocation to get into a murder-mood. I personally think that she was no longer interested in being with an alive Travis. IMO it's also entirely possible that she wouldn't have felt compelled to kill him if he hadn't threatened to expose her for who she really is. If that was the threat which motivated her, Travis alive would remain a threat whether she went on a trip with him or not.

Problem is, who can figure out the workings of a deranged mind? So, revised, I really don't think Cancun was on her mind but concede anything is possible given who we're talking about.

PS.. JeSuissCharlie indeed.

JMO
I agree with you.
A long thousand mile drive to his house, with 1 thing on her possessed mind, which was to kill him.
It would have taken Travis to literally beg her to come on the trip with him in order to change her mind at that point.

The parking down the street, bringing stolen gun, dying hair, etc. I even think the sex she had with him, was her using him one last time (and not the other way around like we typically would think).

I have been a little concerned about BK's take on everything going on with the computers so I took a look around.

According to WIKI she hasn't been a practicing attorney since 1994. At that time, she moved on to the commentator role.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Beth_Karas

This makes me believe she really just doesn't understand that much about computers. In fact she stressed that only one site was accessed but it lasted for 45 minutes.

When I was hearing that thousands of *advertiser censored* sites came up I was concerned too because I'm pretty computer illiterate. But reading WS helped me understand.

BN sounds pretty knowledgeable to people like me, and apparently BK too. The way he was mocking Juan, who would guess he's a clueless idiot when it comes to computers?

I had forgotten how Nurmi tricked Sky Hughes by telling her he had PROOF that TA was into *advertiser censored*. I think he was doing the same thing here to the judge and the public. He really has no ethics.

I'm rambling, but I really think BK is just out of her realm when it comes to this issue. MOO

I totally agree. It is easy to be fooled by the DT tactics.

Once we heard Nurmi exaggerate of thousands of *advertiser censored* and we were told of known viruses, it all became pretty obvious to me it was URL links from a virus of some sort.

Quite a few times, I had inadvertently clicked on a shady website that automatically began opening other browser windows over and over until I had to shut off the power in order to get it to stop. Once I saw how websites can direct and open links automatically to itself in an infinite loop, I could easily see where a virus could do similarly. Then when I researched viruses that did that sort of thing, it was further proof that is what all these alleged *advertiser censored* links the DT is claiming.

The DT is being very misleading and trying to imply that Travis had tons of *advertiser censored* files, when they were nothing more than URL Links that were part of some sort of virus. URL links are the website address file name that goes to a particular website. And I am sure most of them were *advertiser censored* related websites from the virus. The website address name itself would have had terms that were sexual in nature.

Martinez: #JodiArias testified for 18 days prior and took an oath. And now she's indicating that sommehow she lied.

Steve Krafft ‏@SKrafftFox10 16s16 seconds ago
In this hearing, just b4judge, prosecutor Juan Martinez is understated, in contrast to his bombastic nature when jury is around. #jodiarias

Dave Erickson ‏@ericksonvision 21s21 seconds ago
.#JodiArias attorney Kirk Nurmi tells judge she's "mentally ill." I recall her defense being "self-defense" not an "insanity defense."

Martinez: I hope #JodiArias isn't saying she lied during the trial and that's why she won't use tape of it now.

Yep Ms. Judy the convicted murderer forgot to tell the first jury she was mentally ill, even after being asked a question by one of the jurors if she ever had gotten treatment for her mental issues.

Right. The letter of the law is that they don't have to disclose things that are not materially different from other things. There is no material difference between the two images because all the things the defense found on the 2009 image were also on the 2008 image.

AZL.. didn't Melendes use the 2008 image to perform his review and compile his report? Wouldn't he have disclosed it's existence in his report back in the day? Didn't he have to outline his method of review?

Maybe, esp. if he added in 'and we'll marry soon afterwards!'. lol I also think she killed him much earlier in the day than the nudes and shower pics would have us believe, we now know she had access to a Sony camera (belonging to his roommate, and was mysteriously found in the BMW), no idea if it was missing a memory card but I'm willing to bet it was. I don't think he ignored everyone who called or texted him after noon because she was so captivating, I just think he was no longer able to communicate with anyone.

Agree with you geevee 100%!
During interrogation, Flores told her something like 'I know Travis was killed (or showered) around 5:30 pm.' and JA had to make up a lot of stories to fill in the gap. ie; computer usage in the afternoon explained by Travis viewing CDs with photos she brought when he was already dead.

I just wonder how many more imaginary mitigation witnesses Nurmi is going to add? His list goes up in number every time he doesn't get his way. Does anyone remember what Juans answer was when JSS asked him how long he would need with them? I remember he answered but can't find his answer now... I think JSS had asked him an estimate as to how long he would need to cross defense witnesses. TIA.

YEP! I agree with you. I did some reading also. She's already done too much damage to herself, too bad. Well her contract is up Feb, 28, 2015, I do wonder if it will be renewed???? What a waste of an education. When I put her name in Google everything about her is negative, all related to this trial. She is made to look more like a party girl than a professional. She, like all the other DT experts would not stand a change against Juan Martinez.

BBM

From what I can tell, she's a consummate professional.

If by consummate professional you mean a mitigation specialist with topless glamour shots posted on her "Cougarluscious" Facebook Profile:

Its amazing how many points of analysis can be brought to a couple little bottles of suntan lotion. :D

Do we really know what size bottles of stuff she usually carried? Besides the tidbit that cumulatively her shell-care products weighed many pounds?

I travel long distances a lot by car, sometimes for 2 week stretches. A small car fills up easily and quickly. Personally I use little travel bottles for shampoo and conditioner and lotion; toothpaste is the only regular size item I carry.

Her trunk was full of gas cans and water bottles, she was carrying camera equipment, a DVD player, and a computer, plus personal luggage, plus a gun and knives and whatever else. If she planned ahead on exiting TA's house quickly after killing him, maybe she didn't want to be carrying a lot of stuff and opted for small bottles.

Who knows. I don't think the size of her bottles or the fact she bought sun block equals she thought she was going to Cancun. She was hacking into his accounts. She knew there was not a ticket in her name, there was one for Mimi, and there was no way Mimi's ticket could be transferred to her even if Travis magically changed his mind.

Nope. Not Cancun.

BBM

Darryl Brewer funded the super-sizing of her 'bottles'.

No, it's not because of JSS, she allowed cameras the next day. That's just silly! It was because Pseudonym a.k.a John Smith asked to testify in private, that's why no cameras that day.

No, I meant originally, when the sentencing trial started. But, that's ok, thanks for the info LinasK. :)

I think we're making too much of the little buy one get one free sunblock JA bought. I think it was nothing more than a impulse buy, she happened to see on her way back to or from getting the gas can in the store. Who can pass by a "BOGO" on the end of a shelf? JMO ~

My thinking is, the gas can is in a whole other area of the store than the personal care products (in my WM it's on the opposite side of the store, but another department in any store), so she went to the personal care products department on purpose, imo not because she wanted 'Cancun items' but she wanted other items so the gas can purchase wasn't all by itself. She might have even bought the blue 'kero can' intentionally so it didn't look like a 'gas can' on the receipt.

P.S. Hope you're feeling better, D. :)

Besides, she'd already established that shopping pattern in the OTC area of the Pharmacy Department with the KY Jelly, and the Granny panties & iron-on letters down the Clearance aisle.

BBM - To be technical, there are not "files" in the registry, just text. This page starting about halfway down talks a little about the contents of the registry.
http://www.outertech.com/en/windows-registry-faq-and-howto-tutorial

Lots of it is related to machine and application settings, but the sorts of things that could be examined might be recent Windows search history, paths and names of documents accessed recently, maybe some URLs accessed recently (though I'm not sure whether that gets stored in the registry), and so on.

There are many thousands of entries. If you've ever tried to clean out all the carp something like Symantec or HP puts in there it's enough to drive you crazy. Trojan programs and malware can stick things in there if you trigger one to keep restarting itself, downloading things, etc. It's very complex to root out that out that sort of things once it's there.

Yes, but JS is insisting the *advertiser censored* was visited by a human. The *advertiser censored* URLs were in the history.dat in the Firefox browser folder - not IE.

Here's what I think happened:

1. JA alleges Travis was into child *advertiser censored* blah blah
2. The State (MM) looks for "child *advertiser censored*", and finds none.
3. The DT knows they have nothing with regards to child *advertiser censored* (1st trial)

-----> Fast Forward

1. JA now says there is just regular *advertiser censored* on there.
2. Hired gun finds no images, just a URL of *advertiser censored* visited.
3. Juan is correct that anyone could of accessed this site, it was a "communal" computer.

:gaah: This is so stupid. So, I think JSS will rule that the *advertiser censored* found (now that they have looked for any type of *advertiser censored*) is useless, and does not affect the outcome of this case. MOO

Please note: My opinions change daily on this case. :giggle:

And don't forget the reptilian stare. (Yeesh, and I like reptiles. But those blank (?), cold stares into the camera in the few courtroom photos we've seen of her in the last few months make me think that reptiles have warmer blood than she does.)

Like this?

I think that's what JSS was asking JM at the hearing. He didn't know the answer.

I wish we could see his full report. Seems like if he did, then as Laurence likes to say... game over.
