Would you give an opinion on whether Juan is liked or disliked among judges? Does he have a bad rap with them or some of them?

I don't know anything about his reputation among judges.

Yes. It's extremely normal for an expert to shake hands with the client. From all appearances, the sheriff's deputy and bailiff don't think JA is a security risk to the extent that they need to prevent witness contact.

Regarding how disrespectful Neumeister was to Juan: it's possible Juan didn't ask the judge to intervene in hopes that Neumeister may treat Juan the same way in front of the jury. The jury would hate Neumeister right away...regardless if they like Juan or not. Neumeister does not come across as a likeable fellow to put it mildly.

:sigh: Fine. I'm just pissed off because the smiling and the shaking hands, to me, says he actually likes the killer. And I just cannot like/trust an expert that actually likes JA. I hope JM can dig up some real dirt on this guy. On one hand I can't believe he'd put his career on the line for JA but myb he thought he could get away with it... (Speculating)

Thanks. I guess at this point I don't see it as a minor point, the conduct she allows in her courtroom. The eye guy today is only the most recent of witnesses she refuses to hold in check.

All emotion aside, I believe she has abdicated control of basic aspects of her court room. I would genuinely hope a presiding judge wouldn't consider that complaint minor.

I'm more worried about the casual use of secret hearings and bench conferences and the failure to put some time limits on witnesses! The presiding judge does have regular meetings of judges handling capital cases to ensure that the cases are moving along at a reasonable speed, so apparently his standards are not too strict.

Let's get this courtroom back on American soil and get the trial moving, and then I will agree to put basic respect on the agenda as item #3 lol.

I think Juan is saying all the "damage" BN brought up was not caused by them. It was given to them that way. Jodi destroyed the evidence, not them.

Yeah, I agree with you. But if the defense wants to cry foul about sims cards and things they should have done that in the initial trial IMO. Those things have nothing to do with this computer. It makes it look like they're trying to pile more on to make the prosecution look worse IMOO. Why weren't the sim cards important during the first trial?

I guess I'm just thinking Juan was honest when he said that's the way they came into evidence. I'm probably not making sense because I'm so mad.

But how can the judge allow a witness to say "we will go at it....." ? Sounds combative and hostile to me. Does Juan need to ask the judge to tell the witness to knock if off first before she intervenes? I'm not up to school on all the rules of the court but I would NEVER say that to an attorney if I was on the stand.

I have followed a lot of trials, but I have never ever seen anything like this one. JA has been running this "show" for almost two years.

I know hindsight is 20/20, but I'll bet that even Travis' family wishes they had just let the judge give her LWOP last year. My heart aches for his siblings. It just keep getting worse

In Willmott's motion she mentions that it's odd that damage keeps happening to property while in the state's possession. She is trying to make it sound like all this stuff was done by the state. And it wasn't.

It's low. And dirty. Just bad form. I wish they wouldn't lob accusations without merit. But who am I kidding?

I don't live in AZ, but JSS just earned a letter from one mighty flabbergasted and aghast trial watcher.

Exactly what I am thinking. Nurmi wants the jurors to hear all this and this Judge allows all the delays and purposely neglects her duty to maintain civility and order. So who is it always preaching that JSS would give JA LWOP? Not a chance. Sickening.

And when you go to a pornsite and browse through the different categories (Female friendly, hardcore, gay, blah blah blah, lesbian, whatever), you can find "Teen", but that's starring ladies who are 18+ with 18+ bodies. Not the kinda thing a pedophile would be into.

And I find it curious how Wilmott got Neurowhatever to talk about the hits for "teen" and "tween" but I never saw any reporting of hits for "tween sex" or "teen sex" or "teen *advertiser censored*" or any specific search like that. He ended up looking for "tween" and having to say the internet hits can include the word "between" as well.
