Or, it has something to do with how the lil sister was whisked out of the country shortly after the murder.

I have had my suspicions that she may have taken some evidence with her(JA saw her family after the murder before her arrest and before the lil sister left the country), quite possibly unknowingly(the missing phone had come to mind at the time but it could have been pretty much anything).

Regarding whether JA could be her BM, speaking as both an adoptee and a BM myself, then surely you would have told the lil sister before disclosing it to a court, though I honestly see no reason why that knowledge would have any bearing on this case, not even for mitigation. It's not like they spare murderers every day just because they have family, or do they?

The only reasons I can even imagine JA might try this would be to try and infer that TA was trying to access the lil sister(re 12 yr old schoolgirl comments) or to reveal any "new" evidence that may have returned with the lil sister(they did let that obviously tampered with "missing" phone in, why not anything else).

I don't recall having heard this about her little sister, could you provide a link if possible? TIA.

I can't stand CMJA and it makes me so mad the way she was able to lie and manipulate during the first trial. I'm just a recently retired teacher, but I just can't fathom how the defense team was able to bring in such blatant lies against Travis during the first trial. And, IMO it's happening again! I don't think I can handle it if they don't give her the DP. She is evil and a danger to society.

I don't believe her either, but you have to admit that she's capable of driving people to those extremes.

She must have thought it would be believable. "Well, see, everyone who knows me eventually chokes me to unconsciousness."

BBM

I believe they took the camera out of the box for the first time that day. I could be wrong. The rest is too complex for me to digest. I don't understand why she'd do that?

Like I noted above, the camera did not come with it's own memory stick/card so unless TA or JA already had one then the only memory that could have been used to access any pics would have come from the camera. However, I distinctly remember an evidence bag with at least one memory stick/card being entered into evidence during the trial.

This. Especially the last 4 words.
My hate for her is the strongest hate I've ever felt in my life for anyone (never mind someone I don't even know IRL), and while I know it's an unhealthy hate, I can't help it.
I watched the first trial and have been following it here, then and now, and I can't keep myself from imagining what the Alexander family must feel. I want to reach out and offer comfort to them for their loss. I want a time machine to bring back Travis so they can all be together again.
I want that disgusting excuse for a human to have never existed, the amount of pain one "person" has caused to so many people hurts my heart so deeply I can feel it physically.

While intellectually I understand KN and JW are earning a living I don't understand how they can sleep at night. I truly believe I would quit the profession before I would defend slime like her. I don't like to wish ill on anyone, but in their case I hope they carry this forever, I hope they never get a good night's rest for trashing Travis like they are.
The slime-bot herself doesn't merit anything other than hate and Death Row. I don't even believe 100% in the DP, but in this case there is no other outcome that can give the family peace, unless they want LWOP just to try and stop this neverending madness, or at least quiet it down a bit since we all know CMJA will be appealing and appealing and appealing forever.

God Bless Juan Martinez, God Bless the Alexander Family, and most of all, God Bless Travis.

And thank you to all you wonderful posters for your insight and tweets and everything else you all do here, God Bless you all and Happy Thanksgiving!
(back to lurk-mode lol :lurk:)

I know a little something about hate, and I could easily have let it consume me. At times, I guess it did. I had to let it go. This killer isn't important enough to garner hate from me. In fact, I don't even consider her human. When she murdered Travis she gave up her right to be human, imo. To me, she's nothing more than savage. My dogs show more remorse, more love, than this evil harpy.

And I do believe Nurmi et al will "feel" the effects of this trial and their parts in it for a very long time to come.

It didn't come with one in the box but Travis probably bought one with the camera for that very reason.

Detective Melendez testified on day 5 of the guilt phase of the trial that the time stamps on the photos retrieved from the unallocated space of the camera's SD card were added in EnCase.

In JA's testimony on cross on day 25 she tries to weasel out of saying that she deleted photos, but ultimately she admits that she did delete the ones that were deleted.

If she had copied images from her camera to this memory card, the EXIF and other metadata would have made it obvious. That did not happen.
Thank you daisydomino for explaining in laments terms.

I was thinking this, but didn't know how to put it in words without drawing diagrams.

These ARE photos from Travis' camera. I am not sure why it's so unbelievable.

Does anyone want to hear more analysis of her psychopathy? It's from her father's interrogation interview. It's a subtle point, but very telling imo. I'm not sure how I'll express it but I'll make the effort if there's any interest.

Sure, have at it. :waiting:

I saw some pics that didn't have timestamps... they were online so you could see the whole pic, unlike what got quickly flashed during the trial. I suppose the ones online may have been tampered with too.

However, my whole point to this and query, is IF JA had put her memory card/stick in TA's new(when did he get it) camera(she had said somewhere previously that she also had an older Sony camera, iirc), with their "photo shoot" pics still on it that may or may not have had dates already stamped on them from March/April/whatever and then she started shooting shower pics(for her own photo albums) using those nifty infra red, noise reduction and 15x Zoom features, would whatever had been on her memory stick then be added to TA's camera's built in memory with the same date as the shower pics, since to the camera's built in memory they were all new, right?

Ummm.... they all had time stamps. What was "shown online" was cut off from the bottom of the picture. Time stamps were always there. JMO

I don't recall having heard this about her little sister, could you provide a link if possible? TIA.

In on of the interviews (I think with the Policewoman), JA asks about when she can get camera because she has photos of a wedding she just shot, her little brother and her little sister. Then she says that her mother wanted the ones of the sister's prom photos so that she can sent them to her because she is away at a rehab place for something. She elaborates wildly during this time, gives a million details, fake cries and pretty much looks like the liar we now know.

About the license plate deal, I really wonder if she saw that tactic in a movie or TV show and mimiced it thinking it would somehow help her conceal her trip.

Mythbusters did a segment on disguising license plates...

I so agree.

snipped for relevance:

What? No she wasn't. LINK to this please...

I have a very good male friend who I will say, is pretty much a lothario/player whatever you want to call it but he's still a very good platonic friend of mine (and I might add very much like
Travis--charismatic, spiritual, a friend to everyone, giving, a great dad with really a way with women and ..anyway, he's like that and quite open about it). He was involved w/ a former friend of mine who I met through him a few years ago and they engaged in a "friends with benefits" situation for about two years. As I got to know her privately, I realized this was NOT the case for her and she was putting upwith it hoping he would finally "land" on her. He went along thinking this was a perfectly balanced and friendly situation for them both and continued dating other women some of whom she knew.
SHe finally had a meltdown of sorts and I was with her that weekend--she confessed to me she'd cyberstalked all the women he had dated, had access to all of his passwords, pin numbers, house security codes etc. He was still thinking she was copacetic with the entire arrangement but in reality she was basically psycho while smiling and acting normal in public. I was shocked when she said "there is not one drawer of pocket in an article of clothing in his house that I"ve not gone through. He has having her housesit for him when he went away on business!

When she confessed all of this to me I was in a serious situation--to repeat it to him, it was confidential, to tell anyone else...I just directed her to a freaking therapist which she did...the relationship ended. She gained access to his house while he was gone and chopped down all of his parsely of all things in his huge garden as he had once nicknamed her that. Psycho yes, dangerous no. But I realy couldn't blame him as she gained those passwords over his shoulder and in all kinds of sneaky subversive ways...when he'd had too much to drink, offering to get cash for him from an ATM, things like that. She just always seemed so "ok" on the outside. SOrry to ramble on but I couldn't help but think of her and how easy it all was to her and how he never knew any of ths was going on.
After the final breakup I just said to him "trust me on this--change all your passwords on everything" and he did. She got mad at me for staying friends with him (duh he was my friend first) and dumped me, thankfully. It was all so freaking awkward.
I'm sure Jodi employed similar sneaky maneuvers. I recently watched the early interview tapes w/ her parents and so much about her paranoia about THEM snooping onher...100% projection. I'm sure her stalking cyber and otherwise is far past what any of us know.

(sorry so long)

Oh wow! You're so lucky this woman didn't attack you! She sounds like a Jodi Arias in the making!

Apparently JAs innocent site thinks BN has the goods on Juan. Silly minions.

They also thought she'd be carving their Thanksgiving turkeys too! Instead she got to enjoy Tofurkey, which her mother was so worried about...

It was the CA plate that was upside down, right? She probably used AZ plates she owned from another vehicle for her trip to Mesa then switched back to the rental's plate (CA) after her getaway. Did either state use only rear plate or did either or both require both front and rear? I do not recall for sure which state required what back in 2008...and since I am unsure, I am not sure if it is important or not.

I also still toy with the idea that the camera in the washer was accidental. That there was bleach in the mix doesn't really matter--she might have added that hoping to destroy blood evidence from the sheets and towels. IOW her adding bleach does not indicate that she knew the camera was in the wash.

Arias is an odd one and her thinking process is hard to pin down on certain things. There could be perfectly good reasons (in her strange mind) for needing upside down license plates (which attract attention more than conceal) and the camera in the washing machine (rather than taking it from the scene for disposal with the weapons, clothing, car mats). Even with her meticulous plotting and planning, it is possible that some things that look calculated happened by accident.
Don't know about Arizona, but California has always required front & rear plates. You will be ticketed if you don't.

What are these jurist thinking?

Are they thinking about what Mr M presented in the beginning of this phase?

Are they getting lost in the defense case?

Are they thinking what a monster JA is?

Are they thinking TA deserved what he got?

I only read that they are writing or not writing, looking bored. A few questions.

I so wish we had someone reporting on the jury like in first trial. Are they bonding? Are there loners? What are their expressions to some of this BS the defense is putting in. We read bits and pieces but not enough for me to get a feeling of how this is going.

Yeah, but depending on the reporter, Jean Casares has spun jury reactions to say they are favoring the defense when they really aren't.
