IIRC from BK notes, BN did not touch the original HD .

While BN may not have had the original HDD in his possession, both sides aver that TA's original (source) HDD was tainted by the power cycling of the laptop performed by judge's order and DT's request on or about June 19, 2009.

The drive would have been written to and data potentially overwritten by that action.

It is also conceivable that files were deleted by the series of actions associated with the same power cycle.

I can ask him all of this. He didn't get far in reading and didn't see everything. I asked him about the incinerator thing but he said he'd have to get back to that. While what BN is saying might be true, his refusal to turn over the copy is still strange.

One thing though, and this is me, is that BN did say his image had the same amount of gigs as the forensic copies being provided. I don't understand that since BN is saying he deleted viruses and things off of it and the forensics experts wouldn't have done this.

I thought so too. From everything I read on BN's testimony at the hearing last Thursday, I thought that Tony and the super-secret third examiner were people who worked at BN's lab. Today, I read here that Tony may be a subcontractor with his own company and his company is not a certified computer forensic lab.

Oooh! Not wanting to supply the name makes sense now. If he outsourced to an uncredited lab can he be sanctioned for his testimony in any way legal or financial? Possibly lose his license because of that?

And I REALLY want to know what kind of "broke" her external hard drive was, and her lap top for that matter....I've crashed quite a few puters in my lifetime and always thought everything was lost. But a quick trip to the nerd guys and they could always get my stuff back for me. She must have done a real number on hers to make everything so irretrievable.....

I read somewhere in the minute entries that her hard drive was broken in half. On 10-18-2012 entry it says that drive #402873 was sent to TLSI.inc for recovery and the judge was ordering for the return of the drive by a certain date. A while back I saw an entry where Nurmi was arguing that the data from the drive could not be admitted because they could not be sure what was changed or missing. I am still looking for that entry.

I would love to see what they found. Murder Plans? Mileage maps? *advertiser censored*? Blackmail of prior boyfriends? Evidence of photoshopped photos? Emails from Travis's accounts to her own? Evidence of spying with remote programs?

He is a 'contracted technical expert' for many court systems and the department of defense, energy, state and local law enforement agencies. He goes on, reading from his CV.

Is there any specific mention of CHILD *advertiser censored* being found? I keep reading about "*advertiser censored*" but nothing about children specifically. Hopefully that question isn't too dumb - I just don't recall reading about it.

Will double check. I think tho Beth records BN as saying that he was working with a copy. He erased all the viruses and malware on his own copy so he could "reverse engineer" it and search for hidden/deleted files/activity. (Whatever that means).

IIRC, though the DT motion cites URL names, the hearings have redacted and JSKS has prohibited the public reading thereof.

I am unaware that BN has produced a single digital image (picture or video) to prove the existence of his allegations of copious (at least 10K if not more than 100K) "*advertiser censored* files".

It remains incumbent upon Dog-In-The-Freakishly-Enlarged-Eye Guy to prove they were all on TA's HDD before JA slaughter-butchered him, and that the State intentionally deleted them and lied about it.

And if so, do you know of any forums that follow the case? If so, JM knows it now and I hope he will subpoena him for this hearing. We know that he and BN worked together last weekend and he agreed that all of the newly discovered *advertiser censored* has always been there and he missed it.

K. About difference in GB between State's HD and BN. State says there should be 55.9 GB, that's what they saw. BN 's cioy has 18.3 GB. He does indeed say the difference is accounted for by Hus deletion of malware and viruses.

IDK the significance of this, but he also says he made his clone on a HD with 500GB capacity.

I think they all agree that the hits that occurred in 2008 on the dates shortly after TA died were from

1. when the computer woke from sleep when detectives collected it at the crime scene. It was still connected to its home wifi and it downloaded some software update and
2. when the computer was booted up from its hard drive at Mesa PD when JA's original defense team wanted to look at it, the computer then finished installing the software it had downloaded at the crime scene.

The stuff that happened on the drive in 2009—we haven't really even heard anything about that yet in the hearings, AFAIK.

The laptop was booted and ran for approximately 13 minutes with all parties present. During that time, updates installed themselves because no write block was on the computer, this changed the file system. Nothing malicious there. In hindsight, I'm sure the State wishes that they had brought a computer geek with them to prevent this, but they may have thought that since they had already created a forensic copy that all was good.
